I go in they say at least an hour,there are 16 people waiting, people steadly come in the door, there are 5 or 6 people waiting outside due to no space inside, i wait 1 hr and 15 mins, i ask them how long 1hr , 7 people in front of me, 1 doctor, 20 mins per animal, that does not come to an hour, more like 2 more hrs at least. very poor way to run a business, my dog is having a fit, and all they know is 1 hr, a lot better off finding a new vet. very poor excuse for customer service. I took my 2 german shepards to community and checked in the office at 10:30 am. I wad told there would be an 1.5hr wait. I was told my dogs needed to wait outside and they would call my phone and or walk outside when it was time to be seen. I walked my dogs and waited for over 2 hrs in the parking lot. At 11:46 i called the clinic and asked how many more people were in front of us. We were told they had 3 people in front of us. The entire time sitting in the parking lot we watched as dogs and people came and went. Take it it's 87° outside and my two dogs are waiting in sun and heat. At 12: 20 i called to ask if we could come in and wait since we're had been waiting so long and it was hot and they said yes and then said no wait we called your phone 3x and walked parking lot and yelled your name and there was no answer. They not once called my phone ad my phone records will prove it and my location services will prove that we were at their location the entire time. So after 2 hrs waiting in the sun the office staff insists they tried to contact me even tho i had spoken to them 20 mins before. I had no phone call from them nor did not once office staff member come to look for us as they stayed they did. Me and my mother both were waiting for 2 hrs with my poor dogs in the heat for them to blatantly lie and show no concern for my animals what so ever. They were disrespectful never once apologized and tried to bully me to think they tried to contact. I waited all day and wasted time for them to turn me away. This is the second time this had happened. Maybe they are RACIST. I don't understand what the issue is. This is definitely not someone iwill take my animals to every again and if you want to be treated like scum then go to them. I am now whittling for the vet to contact me, I'll set how long it takes that phone call to occur. DON'T TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!! They don't even deserve 1 star! Read Less

I personally bring all my babies Bubbles And Papi And grandpups Silvia Lola and Mila here and as always wonderful job ! But this last time I had to bring in one of my family members pet to have her restitched from surgery done at MAS (she got out and it was one of the requirements ,she had to be fixed) so because it opened, the surgery looked glued and no stitching (from inside aswell). So we brought her here and the Doctor did an excellent job in re-sowing .And proper meds were given . I recommend this place 😉 •One of the pictures is without stitches when the procedure was done at (and paid for) at MAS. •The other is perfectly done by the doctor here at Community Pet Hospital Thank you very much to everyone on the staff team and doc. Best veterinary office in the Mid-south. Affordable prices and friendly staff, do I have to say anymore. I dare you to call around and compare prices, because you won't find a cheaper vet office in Memphis and friendly service. A lot of these vet offices in Memphis are after the money and I truly can say this vet office is not all about the money like a lot of vet offices are in Memphis like Petvax and Bandfield and MVS. I know for a fact that when my two German Shepard needed heartworm treatment, petvax wanted to charge me $4000.00 for both my dogs to get treated. Community Pet Hospital offered to do it for less than $1000.00 for both my dogs. And grooming for my small poodle was $31.00 for bath and hair cut and nails. Petco was charging me over $100.00 to get her hair done. I also got dental work done on all my dogs and it cost me only $108.00 for each dog, when bandfield and VCA Eads Animal Hospital wanted to charge over $200.00 for each dog and charged extra for medications and for teeth that got pulled. Just started working there and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! No we do not take a 2 hour lunch break. The doctor quits seeing patients from 12 to 2 so he can take care of the drop off patients that are needed to be seen. Yes sometimes the dogs/cats needs to be sedated during grooming for the pets safety. Yes your little monster might be all sweet and good at home but at the vet because we are doing grooming or other test on them they may need to be sedated for are safety and theirs. Dr. Baddley is highly recommended. They have affordable prices and they are very clean. I have worked and volunteer at many vet offices in the Mid-south and this one comes highly recommended. The only issue I have is the long WAIT from the time you call to make an APPOINTMENT especially for GROOMING other than that I must say the STAFF is animal loving and it shows in how they INTERACTS with the animals NOT only mine but ALL as I was fortunate enough to WITNESS first hand. This place is awesome, if you don't mind waiting a little while sometimes! Dr. Baddley was great, and so knowledgeable, even pulled a loose tooth in my Chihuahuas mouth, while we were there! I absolutely love Community Pet! I have been using them for over 10 years for all my rescues. They are so caring and more affordable than anywhere else I've tried. This was my favorite place until I adopted 3 more dogs . I had the coupon from the animal shelter so my dogs could have shots. They treated us like we went there to beg for free shot. My husband gave all information, they still wanted to talked on phone with me and ask the information for 3 more times. We thought they just tried to make us give up politely. I took my rescue cat here for a dental cleaning and what I thought would be the pulling of a few teeth. I welcomed a happy surprise when I was not only told that his teeth did not need to be removed but they are in better shape than we thought, he just had a sore in his mouth. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO BE GROOMED HERE!! Just moved to Bartlett and had my dog groomed here, told them what I wanted.  When I picked her up they had shaved my dog.  They said her hair was to thick to do what I wanted.  (Never had an issue at other groomers)  But they did not call or communicate that they had to do something different.   When I seriously gasped when I saw her, her response was "Its ok It will grow back."  They shaved her to her skin on her underside, it is simply a terrible cut.  People say they are cheaper, sometimes you get what you pay for.  They work on a first come first served basis, so if you are not first in line your pet will be in a cage all day waiting their turn.   Spend a few dollars more, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I came to Community Pet Hospital by recommendation from my daughter. I brought my puppy Dottie Brown Paw for her puppy shots. I have NEVER experienced such a caring and loving staff before. They love animals and it shows. The medical care and attention Dottie has received here has been top notch, she loves loves Dr Baddley. Yesterday I took Dottie in for in check up and pre-op consultation, Dr Baddley was in surgery so I ask to see the new Dr., Dr. Mullins. Dr. Mullins was so sweet and sooo thorough! My daughter had to go there twice today just to get our dogs foot looked at after surgery she spent basically a total of four hours and two trips there and still didn't get seen because apparently the doctor didn't have a chance to eat lunch or something anyway it seems unbelievably ridiculous to tell someone to bring their pet there and then don't see them then asked them to come back and then still don't see them and then your excuse is the doctor is eating we will definitely not be coming back Read Less

I have taken my dogs here for several years now. I switched from another practice that was much more expensive. The staff at Community Pet love animals and do a great job examining and treating their animal patients. The place is super busy and you may have to wait to be seen by the vet. I have mixed feelings about this vet. My family has gone here for years. Wait times are excessive, phones are always busy, and there is one lady up front that is super rude (I can't remember her name). I do love Kathy though. They took great care of my dog when she broke her leg. But the groomers shaved my long haired Persian when specifically asked not to cut his fur all bc of how they wrote it on his papers. And made me pay for their mess up. The doctors are awesome, but it still has their flaws. Prices are better than other vets though. Read Less

My family has been taking our animals here since I was a child and the office was Dr & Mrs. Kelley's.  Mrs. Kelley is still there :-).  The building is old and dusty, but you can't beat the honesty and compassion from the doctors and staff.  They are a walk-in only clinic, so you will wait a while, but the wait is worth the price! Very inexpensive!  I had to put my baby down in January and the doctor and tech and I were just balling our eyes out.  They truly do care about animals and they will give you their honest opinion without trying to make a buck off of you. Yes, this is an old building. Yes, the parking is difficult. Yes, you have a long wait. They are reasonably priced, have a friendly staff, and care well so they ARE popular. When you have a popular office that does not take appointments, it's gamble how long you will have to wait. It's worth it to me. I drive from Olive Branch to this office & wait a long time because it is worth it. I do really like Dr. Baddley. He is patient and listens to your concerns. He is gentle with your pet. As far as the cleanliness is concerned, the office is old so some people equate old to dirty. Every visit (I've been visiting for 20 years) the tables are cleaned before and after I arrive in the exam room. If your pet pukes or otherwise messes on the floor, it's YOUR responsibility to attempt to clean...or at least ask for a mop! Would you allow your pet to vomit in your friends house and sit waiting for your friend to clean it up? The office can not control what kind of people come there for care. If you are uncomfortable with being in public with people you think are "questionable clientele," you may have another problem. The office can not stop crime in the parking lot.(they do have security cameras) It may not be for everyone but I know I can TRUST them. Read Less

Customer for over 15 years.  Never had issues until the hiring of such rudenessat the front desk.  If I told the whole story it would be a short novel.  Dr. Badley can't run the front desk and do his work on the animals. However he really needs to, very quickly, clean house on the front desk and clean the clinic as well.  Vinegar and baking soda is very cheap. Please pay close attention. When I got my first per I price shopped all around Memphis for a quality vet at a reasonable price. My first cat i took here for a spay, front de-claw, shots and blood tests and it was around $200-300 total. That also included anesthesia and boarding for several days so the pet could heal. I found it encouraging that when I went to pick my cat up they knew here on a first name basis. When my cats need medicine, they can pull up their file and sell me basic medicine without having to see a vet. The medications and food don't have much markup on them and are reasonably priced.Yes it is an older style building that it is housed within and they don't take appointments only walk ins. That being said it sometimes takes several hours to see a vet, however I would rather wait for a few hours than have to have my pet wait a couple days of feeling bad before I could get an appointment. overall my visits here have been nothing but pleasant. The staff here shows time after time that they really love the pets they work with, and that is worth more to me than any human comforts. Read Less

I took my 5 year old Lab Wellington into Community Pet Hospital for the first time on 1/17/14.  He was not eating his food and was having difficulty walking.  My regular Vet at another location was on vacation for 2 weeks so I decided to give this place a try.  BIG MISTAKE!  I called prior to arrival and spoke to Jill.  She stated they were not busy for a Friday and the Dr's would return from lunch at 2:00pm.  So we arrived at 2:15pm and signed in as they do not take appointments only walk-ins.  There were (2) customers ahead of us upon arrival.  I was told we would see Dr. Baddley.  She said he was the owner of the clinic and was great.  We waited.  And waited.  And waited.  And waited.  And waited some more.  At approximately 3:30pm, I asked a lady at the counter for a estimate on the continued wait time.  No sorry for the wait, let me check and see, nothing.  Just said it would not be much longer.  So we waited some more until finally, at 4:30pm, I gave up on the wait and Dr. Baddley.  All after witnessing a lot of concern at the front counter.  And, as a added bonus to the uncomfortable waiting area, there is a big sign posted over the front desk stating "We are not responsible for any crime on the premises."   Plus, as one reviewer stated, the clinic is very old and dirty with some questionable clientele.  I did not have a safe feeling while sitting in the lobby.  One dog vomited on the floor while we were waiting and it took forever before it was cleaned up.  So, if you want to subject yourself and your pet to these conditions and poor service, Community Pet Hospital may be what you are looking for.  It was a total waste of time for me and my pet.  As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Here's the thing, there are definitely flaws, but in the fundamentals they do everything right. What I mean is that even though the waiting room is a mess and they are always understaffed, everyone is there is just wonderful. I feel like the veterinarians and techs care as much about my pets as I do. They answered all my questions ably and patiently when I adopted puppies, and the vets are always wonderful. Best of all they are going to charge you a reasonable price. My cat needed a specialized procedure and another vet was going to charge $700. They charged $90 and I was able to get the procedure my cat needed, and he is happier and healthier today. I understand this place may not be a good match for everyone, but I will take my pets there as long as I live in Memphis. Read Less

very caring and affordable...they saved the life of my american bull dog who was on the verge of death due to a sugar imbalance caused by a tumor...they operated and removed the tumor and she is like a new puppy...she is happy and playful and healed...she may have a relapse in times to come, but we have her for a little longer thanks to this facility....God answered our prayers through them! We have taken our two, small dogs to get groomed here a few times. The price is reasonable; however, the customer service is very disappointing. The last two times they have said that our dogs would be ready no later than 3pm. Both times our dogs have been ready closer to 6pm. We have received no phone call letting us know our dogs would be ready 3 hours later. We bring the dogs in at 7:30am so not sure why it takes over 10 hours to complete their grooming needs. Additionally, when I called at 4pm to ask if the dogs were ready, the lady said they would be ready after 5pm (they had not even started grooming them yet!). I asked why they said the dogs would be ready at 3pm, and she stated, ""Well, there is no guarantee."" I understand that, but good customer service would at least call the customer and let them know. Then, my husband go there at 5:30 to pick up the dogs, he waited over an hour in line to get the dogs. We live less than 10 minutes from this place, and he wasn't home till 6:45 with the dogs. He said people that were in line with him also stated they would never come back to this place. They are completely unprofessional, and I hope anyone deciding to use them for grooming services rethinks their decision. It doesn't always pay to go the cheap route for dog grooming! Read Less

The prices are pretty good, and the staff are nice and really seems to care for our animals. However, scheduling, communication, and dealing with the wait are nightmares. If you can deal with the way the line of customers piles up and the wait, this is a really great place that will take care of your animals and will not gouge you with prices. This place is Heaven sent. I have tried so many VETS and this VET is BY FAR the BEST I have EVER stepped foot into. They LOVE your animal. THEY REALLY DO! Most VETS just care for the payment... not actually TAKING CARE of your animal. Thats what you bring your pet to a VET for, right? Anyways. They don't overcharge you for their services like many of the VETS in Memphis and the surrounding areas do. I am thankful that there are still places like this to take my little furbabies too... They shaved our husky !!!! They drugged her and then shaved her !!! You aren't supposed to shave a husky !!!! I took her in for shots, a bath, and to have her nails clipped.they gave her the shots and gave her a ""lion clip"". Left the hair on her head and tail -- like a lion!!!! I don't give out 5 star reviews. Certainly not for medical providers and certainly not for companies in the Memphis area. I am always disappointed by doctors and vets, I pretty much hate memphis. THAT SAID This place is awesome, they are fast, friendly, laid back, they don't waste your time, they don't do un-needed test. All my friends recommended the place, I went there twice so far and just had to write a review for how awesome they are. I have been to multiple vets and hospitals in the Memphis area, these guys are far and away the best I have been to. They are even open on saterday until 1:30 for doctors visits and later for pickup.. I really love these guys, and to top it off they are cheap, I used to get my shots at petvax, but these guys were cheaper and faster. Trust me if you need a vet during the day time, just jump in your car and go here, no appointment needed. This is an inexpensive, dirty place to take you pet.  I refuse to go there anymore.  The last time I went was for a dog grooming.  My dog has to be sedated so I dropped her off first thing on a Saturday and made plans with them that they would call me when she was ready.  When it got within 30 minutes of their closing I called and was told she was ready.  When I got there to pick her up she was still bleading from the rushed hack job they gave her.  It was obvious they did not sedate her as required and charged.  They did not disclose this and still charged the full price for grooming and sedation. My family has used this vet, in the white bldg, since the late 60's on Summer Ave between Altruria & Stage Rd. I've moved to a neighboring county but I still drive there because other vets offices these days are requiring appts---this is not a child we're talking about here & I do not like that, plus the prices can't be beat. They have a huge amt of staff and are busy-busy with 2 exam rooms. It runs like a finely tuned machine. Call first because the Dr does take a lunch break & be careful parking so close to 45 mph traffic on Summer Av---leash or cage your animals for safety & in respect for other pet owners in the open waiting area. My family adopted a year old border collie from West Tennessee Border Collie rescue some years ago. The dog we rescued had come from Memphis Animal Shelter and was in sad shape. She was on the thin side and suffering from some horrible upper respiratory problems. The shelter staff thought she had distemper. My mother took her to Community Animal Shelter and Fefe (as she named by the rescue and then later renamed Montana) was given a check up from Dr. Miller. He worked to save our new, sickly pet. By some miracle, Montana survived and now is a well taken care and cherished member of the family. Without Dr. Miller, we'd never would have had that chance. Read Less

Dr. Miller and Dr. Baddley have taken excellent care of my Maltese for 2 1/2 years. I adopted an older little fellow last summer that was very sick. I had him in the office about every 3-6 weeks all year and they were so patient and kind and caring with both Howie and me. When it came time for Howie to go to Heaven the whole staff was unbelievably sweet and kind to me. They let me hold him for as long as I wanted and helped me with all the arrangements. When I brought my other one back the next week for other things they were still extremely attentive to my needs. I don't think I could have afforded to take my dogs anywhere else, especially with the sick one. I could afford his medicine and the office visits here. My whole family takes their dogs to them and they all love them. They also do great grooming. I recommend Community Pet to everyone I know. Read Less

We started back when it was Dr. Kelley and have stayed with them ever since. You will get an honest look at the care of your animal while not breaking the bank. I have two cases to relate. I brought my cat in to be fixed, when I picked her up they told me she had been pregnant but they took care of that! They did not even call me to ask my permission or to see if I wanted the kittens, they simply aborted the kittens without my knowledge. The second case involves a stray cockapoo, I called to see what tests and shots he needed and the staffer had no idea, I finally find someone who said it would be $60 to get some shots and what not, and $25 to get him groomed. I bring him in and inform the staffer that I believe he may have a bladder infection bc he was leaking urine. I was told to pick him up that day at 4:45 pm, at which time he hadn't even been groomed and I was unable to get back before the office closed, this was a Saturday. I picked him up Monday morning and they had not administered the shots. When I asked why the staffer said the doctor didn't have time to see him, but I was charge for a medical examination and was given medication for the dog. The groomers did a horrible jog, there was virtually no hair left on him, he still has fleas, and he has many cuts one of which is an inch and a half long on his neck. Read Less
