These people are super friendly. I love the hours available for boarding - for dropping your pet off to picking them up....the hours offered ate helpful. They give you a card that they stamp each time you bring your pet to board and they stamp it for each day boarded. When the card is full, your pet gets a free night. Really nice staff. Read Less

I have been bringing my dogs to Animal Clinic East for 10 years. They have always been amazing. Recently my 4 yr old Goldendoodle suddenly had a seizure. I came running in with her in a panic. We had nothing short of an amazing experience at Animal Clinic East. I came to them by chance because they were the only clinic in the area open late enough for me to be able to take my paralyzed dog in to be seen on a Friday night. She was seen by 3 different vets the three times I went in, but each of them were equally amazing and caring. All of the staff were amazing as well. We initially had Dr. Huang, then the next day we had Dr. Dunger. They both treated her with care and attention as though she were their own dog. The third time we went in, we had to put our dog to sleep because she was not improving. Dr. Liu was nothing short of sympathetic, kind, and caring through the terrible process. Let me first say, I was not a big fan of this clinic when I first started taking my pup due to the front of house staff. Things have changed and I have been taking my Chocolate Lab to Dr. Liu and Dr. Pilkington for the last year and a half. While it feels Dr. Liu takes a little while to get into the exam room, I know he is checking all symptoms and being very thorough with every other animal he touches. Dr. Pilkington is a very caring and intelligent Vet, though he is very direct on care and treatment. He will definitely take his time to check over your animal as if it were his own. I trust my dog's life with these two gentlemen and know they would always treat my pet as if it were their own. I utilize their vet services and their doggy day/night care. The staff is courteous and quick to get your pet seen. The prices are reasonable, though a little more expensive than going to a dog mill vet, but you get what you are paying for. I was really pleased with the service I received after I took my dog in for some stomach complications. I just moved back to the Chattanooga area and hadn't found a primary vet for my dogs yet. I looked online and saw that they had some pretty good reviews and it was close to my work. When I booked his appointment they were unable to get me in that night because the doctors had emergency surgery, however they had an appointment ready for me first thing in the morning. Being just out of college I don't have a lot of extra money laying around to spend so I was really nervous to see the bill, but it really wasn't that expensive for the care, tests, and medication he received. I was especially pleased with the time that the vet took with me and my dog. He went through every option and possibility as to what could be causing my dog's stomach problems and what we could do about it. Not only did he provide excellent service while we were there, he even called me 2 days later to see how Oscar was feeling and if he had anymore symptoms. Our first experience with Animal Clinic East was five years ago when our puppy got loose from his leash and ran into the road chasing a cat and he was hit by a car. He ended up having to be put to sleep, which broke my family's heart, but through it all the doctors and staff were incredibly helpful and kind. It wasn't until this past summer that we finally decided we were ready to take on another puppy. It just so happens that my husband and I are crazy enough that we took on not one but two boxer puppies this time around. We live in Dalton, GA and we've tried all the vets in town in an effort to avoid the 45 minute commute just to go to the vet, but none of them have the quality of service that we found at Animal Clinic East. The doctors and staff are all very professional and informative, the facility is always clean and wait times are typically low. I love that when I bring Miles and Mazie in the doors that the people at the front desk smile and greet me and my dogs. I just can't say enough good things about this veterinary office. Animal Clinic East has been my veterinary clinic for years. I think Jamie Craven is the best vet anyone could ever ask for. He has taken care of my dogs (I'm on my third Labrador retriever) and all of their emergencies and routine checkups amazingly well. I drive triple the distance just to see him. I have 4 animals, two with chronic health problems.  I trust Dr. Pilkington and Dr. Craven explicitly.  I always know we they are going to be well taken care of when we walk in the door.  I feel that their prices compare pretty well with other vets in Chattanooga, and in some cases, they are cheaper.  They never push me to get unnecessary tests and will try a simpler course of treatment before doing extensive test, when possible.  I often get a follow up call from the vet to see how my pet is doing after a visit.  I've considered going somewhere closer to my work, but can't give up the piece of mind that I have when bringing my animals here. Dr. Pilkington saw my dog on a Sunday because my vet was closed.  She had to be kept because they were too 'busy".  4 hours later I get a call with a diagnosis.  I was relieved, nothing that a couple prescriptions couldn't handle.  I walked in and was asked for $322.00!  I didn't see a bill, invoice or a smoke signal!  I asked for an itemized receipt that the very nice receptionist printed for me.  Wow, that's pricey I think, but it's Sadie's health after all.  She swiped my card smiled and said goodbye.  What the WHAT!!  I asked to see the vet.  She walked back to the back to tell him.  She came back to say that he was too busy!  He was not to busy to take my money!  If I had known that I would not have paid until he spoke to me!  Xrays were taken and meds were given to me.  Well, I paid for them.  I have never been anywhere vet or any other doctor where they take xrays and don't go over them with you!  I was pissed!  She could tell.  She assured me he would call that evening.  Guess what........no freaking call!  I asked for a copy of diagnosis and xrays be sent to my vet.  Yep!  You guessed it!  They weren't!  If you would like to go to a vet that has super sweet staff and overpriced services preformed by vets with a grandiose opinion of their time.  This is the place for you.  If your vet is closed on a night or weekend, go to River after hours emergency.  It's costly but worth the compassion!  Suck it Pilkington!Sherry Pizzuto Read Less

I had a super sick old dog that I adore get sick on a Sunday. I took her there and they were so busy she was kept for hours. I got a call from the vet stating the diagnosis. No problem. When I got back to pick up Sadie I was asked to pay and given meds. I then asked if I would see the vet to go over xrays. The receptionist told me no! She then went back to ask if he could see me. He said no! He was to busy! However, he was not to busy to take my $322.00! I was assured I would get a call that evening. Guess what! I did not. I asked for the xrays to be sent to my vet. They were not! I can't speak for the other vets there but Pilkington (or something like that) was a terrible greedy man! I will never go there again! I will spend the extra money and go to River! Dr. Ashley was helpful in helping heal our rabbit when she had a serious injury.  However, when I called for help with a possible infection in her wound, he was unwilling to help.  They charge you for your visit BEFORE you see the Dr. and tell you that it will be credited to your account.  Mine wasn't.  They kept my money as a credit, which I was willing to give them if Dr. Ashley would have just helped me with my follow up questions.  I had to call and ask them to send me a check for the credit. I took my service dog to this location for cremation, and the name on her urn came back misspelled. As I didn't want to pay for a service I didn't receive correctly until the mistake had been corrected I asked for a refund until they corrected their error. I was assured by 3 office people (I kept getting transferred) that it could be done but I had to wait 24 hours in order for this to take place. I then called back in their time frame and the Office manager Morris got on the phone and told me that he was refusing my request and then called me a liar. I was then berated by him and told that I could pick up my dogs remains the next morning that they would have the issue corrected. I never received a call back except to accuse me of having someone call them and to threaten to file harassment charges against me with the police when in fact this NEVER happened. I called at 1pm and was told that my dog wasn't in and wouldn't be in until 4pm, at 5 I called back and was told ""Oh we were just about to call you"". I asked for all of the medical records for my two cats and was given a printout of bills that had been paid, I then had to call for the records and was told that the request had to be approved by the vet. I am disgusted with them and as my dog was a service animal this only tarnished the dignity she had. I will never take any animal back there and would be careful if you do. Their vets might be ok but their Office Manager is a mean spirited man who gets jollys from harassing people who just lost a dog of 14 years, and their front office doesn't seem to know what they are doing. Animal Clinic East is WONDERFUL!! I have been taking my to rescue dogs there sense I got them over two years ago... When I got my first pup, Kalli, she had some major stomach problems and I was in there almost ever week. They treated her with love and care and knew us by name.. she was and still is so excited to go see her friends and the vet. As for my other dog, he is a wild lab puppy and he is a big ball of crazy. once he jumped up on the counter and knocked over all the stuff that was on it... I was so embarrassed but they treated it as though it happens all the time and still are happy to see my crazy dog. Our latest major issue with our dogs was that Samson, our crazy lab, ended up having a rupture because he swallowed a black walnut whole and because of that his stomach was bloating. That morning we took him in terrified for our lil man and they rushed him into surgery and saved his life. We have been in and made many calls sense the surgery to make sure he is healing properly and making sure everything is ok. They are not only patient with me (the over concerned mama!) but also, they don't charge us unless they have to. There have been many times that we have gone in and not been charged because we have been in numerous times that week/month... These vets, techs and staff are 100% amazing and anyone who says differently is insane. Read Less

If you have any other choice please take it - Animal Clinic East is only interested in getting as much money as possible from you.  If you look at their reviews on insiderpages.com/b/37213…you will see so many complaints about overcharges, damage to pets, demands for pre-payments, etc that it is truly scary!  My elderly Mother was their latest victim - they charged her for services they never performed and she had to pay before she even saw the bill.  When she complained they took the bill back and stayed so long that my Mother started feeling ill and had to leave.  She is very frail and this upset her greatly.  Needless to say she will never go back.  If you love your pet, go somewhere else!
