Ashland Terrace Animal Hospital

My precious bird was to be euthanized and my doctor was away. They told me Dr. Hester an avian vet would do it. I arrived a half an hour early, my sister accompanied me. I waited and then the doctor came in. I was told they wanted to take my bird "in the back" to preform the procedure. I said, absolutely not! I have always held my pets to make their last minutes as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I asked him if he was Dr.Hester, he said no. I figured some thing happened. He stated this was "not his forte'" but at the time, I was so distraught I did not realize what he meant. It was not until hours later that I realized his speciality was not birds. When I called to find out why I did not get a avian vet, I was told the office staff asked me if this was ok. That NEVER happened, my sister was with me. I would never had agreed to this. I loved my bird like a child. I never would have agreed to this! I was never told I was supposed to go to Middle Valley, that Dr. Hester was waiting, I was a half an hour early and would have made the short trip! was also told that the doctor told me he was NOT an avian vet. This never happened as well. My sister was with me the whole time! What reason would I have to lie? I write this to protect others. ASK if the person doing the euthanasia is an avian vet. It is a painful procedure and you want a avian vet to preform this! Read Less

My cat had an emergency at 6:30pm on a Friday night, our usual vet couldn't see us, so they recommended my husband and I take our cat here for the consult to see if he needed a trip to the emergency vet. We did and have now switched vets. We were there for 15 minutes and were told that we needed to go to the 24 hour emergency vet. We spent three hours at the emergency vet getting the cat taken care of and the next morning the vet from Ashland Terrance called to check on the cat and gave me advice on how to manage his condition. This from a vet that I had literally spent maybe 6 minutes with. They care here. Other vets care about your pet, but I have never felt so cared for. Read Less

Ashland Terrace Animal Hospital is the best place to your beloved dogs and cats. Dr. Woods and Dr. Killian are the two doctors who saw my dog, Cali Flower. Both dogs helped not only with my dog, but also with the finances. The doctors both helped with the best care for Cali. I won't trust anyone else but Ashland Terrace with my girls. Read Less

Please do not take your dog or cat here.Our dog had TPLO surgery 8/17/17. On 9/7/18 they begin treating her for MERSA INFECTION! My dog is not the only one they have had contact MERSA. They have had multiple cases as of lately that they even closed their surgical site to investigate.Our dog is family. And she has been thru hell and so has our family. They suggested the plate would have to come out or the MERSA would never leave, Recent Xray show she still has the gap where the bone was cut to put the plate in. Our dog will never be the same. She will always be on arthritis meds and bone meds. If you love your fur baby ...dont trust them. MERSA IS SERIOUS STUFF!! Read Less

Great staff and docs! I take my babies there to get washed as well and they always handle them with care......even though the 95lb GSD has her days of not wanting to take a bath....and the lab is more than willing. LOL Read Less

Entirely professional yet great bedside manner with both pet and parent. Very knowledgeable and fair on pricing of services. Usually pretty easy to get appointments and they won't keep you waiting forever. Friendly front office staff, and I will not take my dog to anyone but Dr. Wohlers. Read Less

Took all three of my cats for a yearly checkup and shots, all three got their nails clipped and our oldest 2 year old domestic short haired sweetest cat on the planet had three nails not touched and one nail cut completely past where it should have been trimmed. She was in so much pain and they man handled her but not the other two. I will NEVER. Take my cats here again. I’m heartbroken and terrified of a infection because of these people I paid over $400 for 3 cats to get checkups and they should have treated my cats with care and love. Read Less

Staff was extremely kind friendly and understanding. They got me and my sick kitty into a room and away from the big looking dog that could have potentially stressed my girl out. Dr. Wohlers was very kind and understanding and simply did her best to help me find answers and solutions for my poor girl. I met several members of the staff who were all very friendly and I couldn't be more thankful for their treatment of both myself and my cat. They even helped me clean up a little accident my girl had in her carrier. They were nothing but helpful and I can't appreciate them more for it. Read Less

Dr. Woods is beyond wonderful. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable about birds but he is willing to spend as much time as needed in the exam room to answer any questions you have. Compassion for owners and animals sets him apart from any other vet I've ever worked with. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone looking for honest and professional care for their animals. I have several dogs and they have seen all of them. I ran out of heart worm medicine and asked for more. They would not give me any unless I brought back all my dogs. It is all about the money. Will not go back. Read Less

First of all when I got here they barely even spoke to me and when they did it was very insincere The receptionist are semi rude and one was very loud My appointment was at 9 and it's now 930 Sheesh Do they not think we have better things to do I'm pretty much wasting my time I hope the rest of the visit is better than the start of itRead Less

I called just before they were closing and was able to get an appointment as a new client first thing the next morning for a health issue visit for my cat. All of the staff were extremely friendly and Dr. Woods was very knowledgeable and great with my furry feline. The testing and plan for my pet's health issue was very thorough and very well explained. George Scorey and his staff have been my go to veterinary hospital for 30 years. I can't even imagine going anywhere else. They consistently go above and beyond expectations.
