Brought a new kitten here and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The prices seemed reasonable compared to other vets I had called. I acquired the kitten with fleas and eat mites and I was concerned about water sound in the ears when she shook her head. Other than that, kitten was doing great with potty and playing. They had said she was underweight, asked me a lot of questions about how and where I got her. Seemed to genuinely care.
Then, they cleaned her ears with q- tips, which I had JUST done, but as I explained to them, they keep refilling several times a day and just won't come clean. They put mite medicine in the ears and sent us on our way. No testing for worms, since she had fleas and was underweight. Since she already had been wormed, they said she should be fine. Thought they would check the mites under the scope, like most do, but she just glanced at them. When I got the bill, I was shocked they charged for an ear cleaning to apply mite medicine, especially since I JUST cleaned them and since you have to clean the ear for better results for mite medicine.
After I took kitten home, that night she started having very bad stools and this went on over the weekend. We called after hours to see if this was a result of mite medicine and they said no. We called again during regular hours after terrible stools and the kitten being lethargic. They showed no concern at all. I called once again to ask what I can do, and they said to give her canned pumpkin or come buy some powder stuff for her food. I ended up making an apt at another vet. The kitten had lost weight from her such bad diarrhea (she was already underweight), had ear infections in both ears, they checked mites under the scope, they did fecal tests to see why the bad stools, because they were worried about worms since she came with fleas and mites. They also looked deep in her ears and they were so full of crud, this is why I kept cleaning non stop. He did a full ear flush, treated the mites again, gave me antibiotics, which he said the other vet should have done along with testing for worms despite the worming and to look for giardia which could have been passed to my toddler or to me!!!
Within a week, the kittens ears look great, the mites are gone, I don't hear the water in them, she has normal stools, she is gaining weight. I am mad I wasted money going here, when I should have just went to second place the first time, because the first visit was almost $100 dollars and the second place was almost $200. Being cheaper doesn't mean better service for sure! Read Less
