I love Dr. Pope and all the staff at All Creatures Pet Hospital! They have taken wonderful care of our dog and two cats over the years. Once, our cat needed emergency surgery when we were out of town over the Thanksgiving holiday. Dr. Pope called us regularly with updates and even took our cat home with him to monitor his recovery until we were back in town. On the advice of my dog’s trainer, having received ambiguous information from her previous vet, I took my dog to All Creatures Pet Hospital. Dr. Pope and his staff provided compassionate and professional care for my three year old Rottweiler who had suffered an injury to her spine. I do believe that the good doctor gave her the most thorough physical exam she has ever had. He clearly explained the diagnosis and treatment plan. My girl is progressing nicely. Dr Pope and his staff are the best. My 2 dogs have been patients of his for over 8 years now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. His knowledge and experience assures me I am giving my dogs the best possible care. If I need to call I know he will call me back and has worked me in when I didn’t have an appointment. Pet care is always challenging, especially if you have a few pets as I do. Dr. Pope has taken care of all of my babies. I highly respect his professional opinion and his kind and gentle hand. I too had an older girl to get sick. I called the office and was told to come immediately. Dr. Pope had known her since she was six weeks old, she was eighteen years old when we found a tumor. When she could no longer eat or drink, I called Dr. Pope, left a message and five minutes later he returned my call, told me again to bring her in immediately. This was on a Sunday, and he gave me all the time I wanted with her, it was difficult for me to let her go, and yet peaceful for her in the end. My Umbrella Cockatoo Angel was very sick a little over 2 years ago. After many tests and blood work, we found out she had fatty liver disease. It was caught early, so I was able to completely change her diet. Angel is my baby, since we don't have children. I've had her since she was 2 days old and she's 20 now. I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Pope and his staff. Dr. Pope was genuinely concerned about Angel, and how we were doing. Angel was a sick little bird back then. Dr Pope even gave me his personal cell number, and I did have to call him on a Sunday morning. He met me and my husband at his office with in 2 hours. He worked with Angel another 3 to 4 hours. It took almost 2 weeks before Angel showed signs improvement. There's no other vet who would go above and beyond like Dr Pope did. We use him for our cats too. Dr Pope has a wonderful way with the animals in his care, and a wonderful way with the owners too!! I've been using him for most of the 35 years he's been practicing. If you own a pet other than a cat or a dog, such as a rabbit, Dr. Pope is THE Veterinarian to see! I like this Veterinarian because he handles my rabbit gently and he answers all of my questions concerning my rabbit's health and health care needs. I have known Dr. Pope for over 25 years. You will not find a more knowledgeable, big hearted veterinarian than him! He loves all types of animals whether it's your dog,cat or snake. He is the type of person if there are options he lays them all out for you explaining each and every one. He has your pets interest as his main priority no matter what. Dr. Pope fully enjoys what he does and helping animals. He would never speak of it but he spends a lot of his spare time visiting people who are elderly or disabled with pets either going to them or going and picking there pets up and bring them back for care. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Pope for years. Within the past week I had one of my dogs there for kidney failure. Dr. Pope said he thought he would survive. Moses didn't. A week later he couldn't move and was in pain. I called the vet and said I was bringing Moses in to be put down because he couldn't move and was whining in pain. We get there and sat in a room for 20 minutes. I finally went to the back where I saw Dr. Pope clipping a rabbits nails and asked when he would be able to put Moses down? And that Moses was whining and in pain. With a smile and a laugh he said it would be an hour and a half. They were busy and had appointments. I couldn't believe they were letting my dog suffer. Countless times I have had appointments and had to wait on Dr. Pope over an hour to get to the room. I wasn't asking for anyone to give up their appointment. All I wanted was my dog to be out of pain. They told me I could try another vet if I couldn't wait on him to put my dog down. So to end the suffering I went to another nearby vet who was able to put my dog down within 5 minutes. Not once did I ever get an apology from Dr. Pope. All I got was a little laugh telling me I had to watch my dig suffer for an hour while he cut rabbits nails. I'm not writing this review out of spite. I'm writing it because people need to know that your suffering dog will not be a priority and that you will have to wait on getting help if a standard appointment exists when you get there.Read Less

Dr. Pope is the most genuine, kind hearted veterinarian that I have ever met. A healthy pet is, truly, his number one goal. He does a great job explaining exactly what's wrong with your pet and what road you should take to getting them well as fast as possible. If your pet is very sick, he will take them home with him and he will meet you with an emergency anytime of the day. Basically, I can't say enough great things about Dr. Pope.
