Do not go here for spay/neuter if you are using a spay/neuter voucher from the Humane Society. They will use every excuse possible to charge you above the discounted rate, such as trying to get you to agree to extra services over the phone even after you declined them when dropping off your pet. They obviously only signed up for the voucher program to bring in business and exploit people who have no way of refuting the charges. They will also tell you your pet is in heat even if they clearly are not, and say that there is no way to tell without cutting into them, which is absolutely untrue! Many veterinarians won't even spay while animals are in heat because of the increased risk to the animal and will allow you to reschedule, but these people will just keep telling you your animal is in heat, so there is no point. How can you be a proper advocate for your pet with receptionists and vets that lie to you to make extra money? Just choose one of the other options from the list and avoid this place. Their customer service is also terrible, the facility is run down (I was actually nervous leaving my pet there because of the state of the place but I don't have a lot of options), and the employees were arguing with each other within earshot of me. Not a well run place at all. So even for other services, I would avoid this place. Read Less

I just dropped off my foster dog & the veterinarian was at the desk. She was very friendly and sweet to my dog. However, the front desk woman that works during the day could be trained on better customer service. Last week, she seemed less than unenthusiastic to book my dog's surgery and barely gave me any information about the operation or even basic details (time to drop off, pick-up, etc.) until I asked. Today, I called after my dog's surgery (as the vet said I could) because of course, I wanted to see if it went well, if he is doing well in recovery, etc. and all the front desk who answered the phone said "he's fine." I felt like I was owed more of an answer than that, especially with something so risky. At least something like "the surgery went well, he's sleeping in recovery" AT LEAST. Not just a "he's fine". I replied with "ok, so it went well? he's sleeping now?" and she just said yes. That's all. If it weren't for the kind veterinarian this morning, I would be very hesitant to bring any future pets here just because I want EVERYONE involved to be happy to assist and care for the animals, even if you just answer the phone. I complained to the BBB about this vet. Below is the email I sent to the BBB. The case has been closed b/c the vet sent a copy of my dogs file showing where they had written that they apologized. She denied everything I mentioned in the letter below. She said I was never told the things I mentioned. As I told the BBB, no one ever apologized to me in any way. Just because the wrote down that they did, does not mean that they did. Why would I make this stuff up? I am an avid animal lover and do not want the possibilty of other animals receiving this treatment. I did not want anything from them except an apology. As of today, still do not have that. You should think twice before using this vet.I took my dog to be boarded with this vet during the middle of February. They have also been the vet I use since I adopted Bella in August of 2007. I have had no problems with them until we picked up my her up after staying there one night. We have boarded her once or twice before, one of those times lasting a few days. They have always told me to bring anything we want, with instructions, and they will take care of it. As normal, we packed her bag with explicit notes on when to give her the special diet food we provided, treats, toys, blanket, etc. When my partner went and picked her up, he noticed she smelled of urine. Just thinking it was no big deal he went on home. As soon as he got home, let her out of the car, it was apparent she REALLY needed to go in the yard. Once he got inside, he opened the bag we packed and nothing had been given to her. It looked as if they had not even opened it. He called and asked for whoever was in charge. The girl on the phone informed him that he would need to speak to the "Boarding Director" who came in at 3. He called back, and he voice his complaints with her. 1. She was not given her food (if any at all). 2. That she smelled horrible after her visit. 3. Asked for a refund due to horrible service. Rudely, the "Boarding Director" said, we don't do special things just because you ask us to. She did promise that she was fed even though we provided SPECIAL DIET FOOD for her. I still have my doubts if she was fed because you just never know. As far as the smell, she told him that we must not keep her clean like we should. I, personally gave her a bath 2 days before we took her. I know she was clean. They offered no apology as she said they did nothing wrong. This infuriated me, so I called. When I called, I asked for the "Boarding Director" and was told they really didn't have one. So then I ask for the person in charge of the kennels. She told me they all chip in and help with that. I gave her the scenario all over again and told her I was not happy. She then told me that they DO follow any instructions from the owner. So then why did the "Boarding Director" tell us they didn't. As far as her smelling of urine, it makes one think they didn't let her out like they should have. Maybe she had an accident in her cage and had to sit in it. Again, we will never know. So I had to spend another $30 to have her bathed due to "something" that went wrong while she was in their care. I also told her with all of the negative publicity of puppy mills and the animal shelter, I would think they would be more cautious with the animals. She was nice but really didn't know what to say because she couldn't tell me who was responsible for the animals that night. She said she would check into it. That same day, I immediately had them transfer Bella's records to another veterinarian. Read Less

We have taken our dog here several times and each time have been disappointed to some extent. The staff is great, all except for the vet. Our dog barks when he is scared and every other staff person came over to pet him and calm him down. When the vet came in she stood to the corner and acted as if she was scared and insisted on putting a muzzle on him. When our pet had an emergency we called expecting an answering machine with contact information for a recommended emergency clinic. No answering machine no information. We were later informed that they don't use a fax machine either so we would be making a special trip to give them his records from the emergency clinic. Needless to say a bit behind the times and not what I'm looking for in a vet. Read Less

We had our small dog spayed her and the staff at check in time was rude and seemed to be uncareing. When I picked our pet up there was no vet around to let us know how she was, what to look for that evening, or anything. After getting her home I saw she had been sutured up with stainless steel sutures. The ends were sticking out about a half inch from each suture. The poor little dog is in pure missery three days later because everytime she sits the wire sticks her hind legs. When she tries to lay on her belly the sutures stick on the carpet. She cannot get confortable. I have worked in vet clinics in my younger days and never say these sutures on a spaying of a small dog. The last 3 dogs I had were done by another vet that moved from the area. They were always glued or sutured with a very small nylon suture. This vet at Cordova Animal Hospital is not compationate at all or she would not have used these sutures. Read Less

My mother took a sick stray cat into the animal hospital and Dr Sanders spoke to her in a very agressive and degrading manner. My Mother was an elementary school teacher, went back to college and got her masters and taught Reading to underprivelaged children and English at the community college. She earned her Doctorate in Education Administration and worked for many years for the State Department of Education as Reading Specialist. Surely Dr. Sanders could have summoned the wherewithal to speak to her with kindness and compassion. He didn't charge her for putting the cat down but I am positive the abuse he heaped on an elderly schoolteacher wasn't worth the savings. Read Less

Read Less
