Dr. Gentry is hands down the best veterinarian in Sumner County. I have been taking my dogs to her for many years and could not be happier. Let me tell you a true story about how amazing she really is. Many years ago I took my pug to a clinic she worked at in Sumner County(she was not the owner) and the veterinarian owner said he needed to amputate my pug's tail because the tissue was dying. I am a nurse and knew that the tissue was still viable but the hair was missing and it looked terrible. He was going to cut my dog's tail off with no further conversation!! I was very angry and requested another vet look at my dog. Dr. Gentry worked for this other vet, so she took one look at my dog and immediately diagnosed the issue. She prescribed some medication and the issue cleared up within a matter of days without amputation! She has been my vet ever since. I followed her when she started her own clinic and still take my animals to her this day. If you truly care about your animals then she is absolutely the best choice. Read Less

Based on all the reviews, I chose this clinic for my 15 year old, much loved cat, who had rapidly declined in weight loss, not eating or drinking water. My wife and I recently had to make the difficult decision of putting our 3 year old yellow lab, Sadie, down due to an aggressive form of cancer. Dr. Gentry and the entire staff at Gallatin Animal Hospital showed tremendous empathy throughout the process.. from diagnosis to treatment options, and ultimately, euthanasia. Not only were they tender and caring with our dog and us, it was very evident that this unexpected loss affected them on a personal level too. This was highlighted by a condolence card we received yesterday from them, signed with thoughtful messages from the whole staff. My boy was not feeling well. Took him in Monday and the staff was wonderful. Took good care of him, explained things, gave us treatment options along with cost so we could make a decision with all info in front of us. He had a follow-up Thursday and again, fabulous service. They took their time with us, answered questions, and gave suggestions. We never felt pressure to do extra test, or treatment. We moved here a year ago. Over the years my life has been filled with the companionship of many furry friends. Recently we lost two of our precious family members due to cancer/tumors (within 3 months of each other). Although these losses were very, very sad, I have to say that I am most appreciative of the care and support we received from Dr. Gentry and her staff. Too often with some vet clinics, you're just another client. Not so with this practice. We will be adding to our furry family again in the future and cannot imagine using any other Vet practice. Do you want to be confident when you take your lovable family member in for treatment that they are getting the best care possible? Then this is the place you want to be. Dr. Gentry the owner is remarkable in the care she gives to your animal. She has treated a beautiful little lab I rescued after she had been hit by a car and needed her leg amputated. This little beauty got a forever loving home in Illinois. When I got her she drug the leg and was so very sad and pitiful looking. Today she is all smiles and loves to swim and run around in the yard with her adopted brother. She went through a rescued older lab with me when he had cancer. I only was with him for six months, best pet I ever had the privilege of knowing and Dr. Gentry was a big part of that time, treating and letting me know what was going to happen and making sure I understood not to keep him alive for my sake. One day I knew what she was talking about when he looked at me as to say its time. She was the best in aiding him to rest in peace. Dr. McDonald and Dr. Kuhlo are other vets at the hospital and you can tell they are just as caring about your family member. I have two poms now and I wouldn't trust anyone with their care ever again. I had a pom to pass recently and I felt I had failed her by rushing her to a clinic closer to home and not taking her to Dr. Gentry. That is the confidence Gallatin Animal Hospital will give you when you have to take your little or large family member to them. You just know they are getting the best of care you can possibly give. I am so thankful for Gallatin Animal Hospital and their whole team. Need advice on how to rid a bad habit you can even get that there. We had to put down our sweet fur baby about a month ago. I just now got around to sending a thank you letter to them for being so compassionate and supportive. They really knew exactly the right words to say even if it wasn't exactly the best news. Dr.Kuhlo is honestly the sweetest woman. Our Princi loved her so much (Princi never liked people). She made sure that Princi stayed comfortable and pain free for the last few months of her life. And the rest of the staff are so kind and knowledgeable too. We are planning on bringing our other dog in very soon for his shots and we just know he's gonna be comfortable with the entire clinic staff. Do not hesitate to go see Dr. Gentry. You will love the way she explains everything to you. She is so down to earth, gentle with your animals, but most of all she is knowledgeable. She was the forth vet to look at my dog's eye in a year and a half. She was the ONLY one to correctly diagnose her. Thanks to her... there is a chance my dog may get her vision back.
