In the past 30 years I have used Germantown Animal Hospital to care for my 2 precious furry children. Tippy and Jingle Bells. I couldn't ask for a more caring thorough and loving veterinarian than Dr Hendrix. I believe he loves every animal that comes in there as if it were his own. And now I am taking my granddogs there when they are in from out of town and need care. One day I may be blessed with another pup of my own and I pray that he has not retired by then. We started taking our fur babies (5 cats) to the Germantown Animal Hospital a month ago. wow... what a place: everyone is very courteous, and kind. The doctors go above and beyond to make sure we have all meds on time and the babies are seen in a timely manner. They offer walks-in (no appt) on Saturdays and it's so convenient for annual exams and non-emergency situations. Dr. Hendricks is the best veterinarian I’ve ever encountered. All the other docs have also been excellent through the years, but Dr. Hendricks truly goes above and beyond any time I’ve had an illness in one of my dogs. Larry Hendricks has been my Vet for 35 years. He is welcoming, calm, loving, compassionate, knowledgeable, completely engaged, and very highly-skilled. His partners, John McComas and Taylor Abernathy, are likewise. Each has the 'personal touch' which we truly desire for our precious animals. I have three dogs and they have all starting coming here recently. We see Dr. Speth and he is wonderful. Our newest adoption had sporadic issues come up and we were able to get seen immediately and he got taken care of very quickly. I have known Doctors Hendrix and Abernathy for many years and Dr.Speth for a few. They and their staff have cared for our pets for many many years, in sickness, health, and death. They are always kind, extremely knowledgeable, and so caring to both our pets and us. Our current Siamese is named in honor of Dr. "Larry" who helped her predessor use all of his nine lives and more. Our dog developed a cyst that had ruptured. Germantown Animal Hospital was a place a breeder friend had recommended, and I was already familiar with how they had cared for a close friend's dog. Germantown Animal Hospital was very accommodating and helpful. They have email which was a plus in communication and I was able to get in the system before we arrived, which saved a lot of valuable time. I was also able to get everything done, including the checkup/annual exam with shots, after I left. So my dog stayed there all day and got everything we needed taken care of. I had read really good reviews from neighbors, and they were kind when I called and informative. So, I am very glad I chose them. Even the doctor called me personally to give me update about my dog's exam and to introduce himself. I was very impressed on just about everything, even the front desk had a great attitude! A recent transplant from California we were referred to Dr. Hendrick's by our real estate agent.She was absolutely right, this doctor couldn't be more kind. After a very short time here we had to put our sweet Amie (chihuahua mix) with a terrible seizure disorder "to sleep" :-(   Dr. Hendrick's and his staff took good care of us, we had to bring our other two dogs with as we were staying in a hotel. We asked that we be brought in the back door because they are embarrassing around other pets, men, kids ect.... I have not used this office very long but my boyfriend Chris has been taking his animals here for years. He had a dog named Max years ago and they took such great care of him when he was sick Chris will not take his animals anywhere else. We now have 2 cats so I took over taking them in and the staff has always been helpfully usually just drop them off for shots and pick them up after work. We did have one of our cats Oreo get extremely sick and almost die, Dr. Speth handled our case and was wonderfully he would call me early in the morning to let me know how Oreo was doing since it was very serious and luckily everything turned out great. In May we found an abandoned kitten in a box we decided to foster for a weekend...flash to now and he is still with us and not going anywhere.  Dr. Abernathy has been taking care of us with the new kitten named Hobs. He takes the time to answer any questions and you can see he really cares for the animals....actually gave our first kitten de worming and flea meds for free since we took the poor kitten in. My family has been bringing pets here for decades now.  Dr Abernathy and the rest of the staff have always done a great job. They have kept several pets healthy and alive through some tough situations. I trust them without question with the family "members". We came across a kitten left in a box and took him in today to for a once over. They checked him out, gave him shots and some medicine and didn't charge a thing. Told us it was nice that we saved him and I guess wanted to help! I have no doubt there are lots of great vets in Memphis but I will always being my pets to Germantown Animal Hospital. Read Less

The staff here are absolutely amazing! I had an emergency with my dog, took her to a different vet, who suggested that I euthanize her. I couldn't accept that, so I took her to Germantown Animal Hospital for a second opinion. The staff were extremely professional, compassionate, and took amazing care of my fur baby! So I was very disappointed with the office staff at this vet. They were not forthcoming when it came to answering questions about pricing for annual shots, dental cleanings, etc. I walked out of the office feeling as if they charged different per incident with no general charges.  How much are dental cleanings based on my type of dog? How much would it be for my dog (type, age, & weight on file in office) to get his annual shots?
