Since 1972, Goodlettsville Animal Hospital (GAH) has been serving Goodlettsville and the surrounding communities. We are a full service, small animal hospital dedicated to providing veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. We understand that your pet is a part of your family and we provide your pets with the same compassionate and professional care that we provide to our own animal companions.

Goodlettsville Animal Hospital has treated my dog like one of their own pets. The entire staff is helpful, friendly, professional, and great with pets. They took the time to answer all of my puppy questions and really listened. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for our set appointments either. A really wonderful place for pets.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! They only care about money. I took my two month old lab here a few days ago after he cut open his lower paw ( he bled ferociously) When i got there they quickly downplayed his injury saying it was just a tiny cut and sent us home with a wrapped (bandaged) paw which i paid a total of 160 for. Then they called the day to take it off (which was odd to me considering how much he bled) so they took his bandage off and took back the leg cover and cone. After two days i tried to ease him back into physical activity by taking him on a short walk.. as soon as we got going his paw started bleeding out badly! At that time they were closed so i had to wait until the next day. That next morning his paw was still bleeding an insane amount (he chewed off anything i tried to put on him) and i took him there and asked for a quote on how much it would be and no one could tell me. They called and said he was ready for pick up and that he had developed an infection from it not being bandaged!!!! So i had to pay a 40 revisit fee and another 58 for the infection medicine!! BOTH ARE CAUSED BY THERE FAULTS!! What really pissed me off was that they refused to give him a bandaged and i begged for one!! I asked them how is he going to be able to not continue to get infected if he’s running around with an open wound and they said “keep an eye on him” “ wear a leash” . I’ll make sure to the best of my ability the no one in my community ever goes back there!! They will be hearing from me ..

Anyone looking for a compassionate vet look no further than Dr Gross at GAH. Such an intelligent doctor. He is always willing to think outside the box on how to best treat my Chihuahua who has several health issues, and I am convinced I would have lost my beloved pet ages ago without being fortunate enough to have found Dr Gross. Where other vets saw a problem dog, Dr Gross took the time to really look through his case and provide a higher quality of life with his treatment plans. He cares about the animals but also cares about the wellbeing of his clients. Never seems like he is in a hurry in the exam room and always makes sure your questions are answered. I have never once felt like GAH was about money, and in fact Dr Gross has always seemed to be a minimalist on drugs and procedures he recommends for my pet. He is the best, and the whole staff at GAH deserves a 10 star rating. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful clinic and boarding facility. Not only is it clean and efficient, the staff is warm and caring. We have always been treated with the utmost respect, and Shugg has always been very well tended. We've boarded her multiple times and she loved it. The care she received for medical treatments was always gentle and kind. When she was finally diagnosed with kidney failure, the vet discussed all options with us and treated us as if we were family. Their sensitivity and caring will always be deeply appreciated by us. We can recommend this clinic with the highest praise.

We recently took our four cats (Chaos, Boots, Maxx & Sandy) to Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for the first time since we moved to the area. We did a lot of research and they had not only the most reviews but consistently high reviews. Also, the estimates they gave us were in the ballpark of some but lower than most. Based on all this, they became our obvious choice of where to go. This initial visit was for a checkup and everyone came out with high marks however Maxx did need to return for a dental treatment. He had to have a few teeth pulled but the staff was very accommodating in answering all questions we had. Dr. Gross called when the procedure was complete and was very patient in answering any questions I had as well as listening to my concerns. Maxx was sent home with a couple of meds we needed to give him in the days after his procedure and quickly became his old self. The staff followed up a few days later asking us how he was doing and wanting to know if we had any questions. A few days after this we got a letter and coupon thanking us for choosing them and inviting us to return in the future. These first visits assured us we had found a place we can confidently return in the future to get the best care.

Very helpful receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians. I just moved to the area and started bringing my cats here. Having in-house lab work is wonderful. No waiting for results. This vet has been a much better experience for me and my animals than our previous East Nashville vet (who was always trying to up-sell us on everything). They were also very helpful and accommodating with our new rescue pup, and their hours are great!If you want an honest, caring, and helpful vet, this is the spot.

We were referred to Goodlettsville A.H by our veterinarian at Root Animal Clinic. They have a wonderful boarding facility and our dogs are always in good spirits when we drop off/pick up. Our weimaraner has separation anxiety and often times we have found him to be very distraught when picking him up from boarding, but that is not the case with GAH. We trust them with our fur children and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for overnight boarding. Thank you Goodlettsville Animal Shelter for giving us a piece of mind when we are away! :)

The staff of Goodlettsville Animal Hospital provide the best care, support, and knowledge for our 4-legged friends. My dog, Lucy, has primarily been seen by Dr. Gross - and he is absolutely the best! Not only does he provide Lucy with exceptional care, he always takes the time to ensure I fully understood any necessary treatment. I frequently utilize their boarding and grooming services as well - which are top notch. I have a great piece of mind knowing that the vet techs will look after my dog the way I would (especially Tracy...she always goes out of her way to look after Lucy). Paulette does a fantastic job grooming and I'm always excited to see how she will "dress up" Lucy. I can't say enough good things about this amazingly talented and caring staff. I trust them completely with my fur baby....who is the most important part of my life :-) Thank You, Goodlettsville Animal Hospital!!!!

They don't suggest treatments if they're not needed and I genuinely feel they care about my dogs. We recommend them to everyone!

I took my dog to Goodlettesville Animal Hospital with a small red spot on the back of her shoulder area. They diagnosed it as a hot spot and sent me home with a treatment plan which included drying up...
I took my dog to Goodlettesville Animal Hospital with a small red spot on the back of her shoulder area. They diagnosed it as a hot spot and sent me home with a treatment plan which included drying up/hardening the scab (very bad for puncture wounds). About 2-3 days later, large amounts of serum and blood were dripping out of her wound. I went back in to GAH and they discovered that my dog had a puncture wound (not a hot spot) and would need extensive surgery. When I picked her up several hours later, she had a cone shaped wound that was about 3" diameter at the top and 2" deep and another wound they had to make because she had developed an additional pocket of infection under the skin (due to the hardened scab). This new huge wound and the smaller new wound required constant care and took over a month to heal completely. None of this would have been necessary had this issue been diagnosed properly in the first place.

Dr. P was lovely, and very good with my kitty. They even allowed me to settle up still in the exam room, which was nice .. no toting a freaked-out cat into the waiting room to hang with the other scared animals while I took care of running a credit card. Will definitely be going back, and feel lucky to have a great vet so close by!

I took both of my cats here before moving. I was told one of my cats was underweight, but that it was simply muscle mass loss due to his age. Fast forward to two months later, and I found out that prognosis was wildly incorrect! My baby has a large tumor in his stomach and there's not much we can do about it. I don't know if it's incompetence or plain laziness that is practiced here, but they aren't really helping pets if they're missing things other vets can detect before they even did an x-ray. Hopefully, none of you will have to bring home a sick baby like I did today, wondering how things could be different if he would've had the correct prognosis months ago.

I used to really respect GAH and trusted them with the care of my fur babies, but the last two visits have been horrible. Today was the last straw during a simple Rabies vax appointment. The techs decided that my calm, obedient 14-month old dog needed to be held down to draw blood because "Her legs are so long," despite her being exceptionally well behaved the entire time. When the second tech came in, they backed her into a corner and tried to force her down (where she had been waiting patiently not 5 minutes before). My dog growled at them so I asked them to hold off since she doesn't know either of them, but they continued to agitate her, so she snarled and tried to bite one of them. They acted as though they had never dealt with this before and ran out of the room to get a muzzle, made me put it on her, and wouldn't look me in the eye from then on. Everyone, Dr. included, spoke to me with disdain when I tried to apologize for her behavior multiple times and suggested that my dog needed additional training and that it was our fault for not socializing her. She has been through extensive training and her daycare attendants LOVE her, so this is absolutely not the case. The Vet even insinuated that she had done this before, which is also not the case. I will be taking my business elsewhere and you should too.

Staff and doctors are incredibly competent and compassionate. I would not take my cats anywhere else for care. I drive an hour each way to take them to GVAH, and the drive is worth the peace of mind I get knowing that I have good people taking care of my babies. I have been taking my cats to GVAH for 20 years. The staff and doctors truly love their jobs, and it shows! I highly recommend GVAH...professional, caring, and helpful.

I'm about to leave to go out of town for a funeral and when I call about boarding, I get an attitude from whoever was on the other end about our account being "inactive" since we haven't been there in a while and more attitude about what we would need to bring to show proof of up to date shot records, otherwise, we would be charged more. So instead of dealing with more attitude, I said never mind and hung up. For the record, we had previously went to this place consistently for 7-8 yrs and regardless of how long it has been since I've brought my dogs to your establishment, there is no need for attitude when I am trying to give you business. This isn't the first time that this has happened, as I also received the same amount of attitude when I called about grooming my dog and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. You can keep your rude staff and I'll go elsewhere with my money. Thanks.

We recently moved to the area and took our dogs to the Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for their annual shots. The staff was courteous and friendly, which is something that we look for in a veterinary service. However, we left our visit with the feeling that we received and were charged for services that we didn't specifically request. Also, we felt that we were slightly overcharged for some of the services that we did request. When all was said and done, we were charged substantially more for this visit than we had been charged by various other veterinarians in the previous five years for annual vaccinations. I doubt that we will be returning for a follow up visit next year. If you do find yourself at the Goodlettsville Animal Hospital, I recommend clarifying the services and charges on the front end

Caring and very knowledgable staff and veterinarians. We have had a chronically ill young dog who has to be seen monthly basis and each one of the vets and techs and staff has been so personable and truly caring. They regularly call to follow up on problems and are quick to call back to answer calls. They have been very flexible on making and changing appointments. I highly recommend them for your dog or cat.

I discovered Goodlettsville Animal Hospital during the flood in May of 2010. The flood waters were coming up to my house and I fled with my pets. My cats are bad about shredding furniture so I didn't want to leave them with family or friends. I drove up to Goodlettsville Animal Hospital 5 minutes AFTER they closed for the day, knocked on the door and explained my situation. They normally do NOT accept animals for boarding in the kennel without proof of vaccinations. This seemed like a very good policy to protect all the occupants, but I didn't have the paperwork, so I said just go ahead and vaccinate them while they're here. I left them there 2 nights while we waited for the water to recede. When I picked them up Monday, they were healthy and happy. Also, the vet had decided NOT to vaccinate them since he did not know their history. He just kept them on the hospital side instead of the boarding side. Since then we have taken both of our dogs there for grooming and one dog for health issues. The staff and the facilities are lovely and we plan to continue to use them in the future.

We are a full service, small animal hospital dedicated to providing veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. They took the time to answer all of my puppy questions and really listened. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes for our set appointments either. A really wonderful place for pets.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! They only care about money. I took my two month old lab here a few days ago after he cut open his lower paw ( he bled ferociously) When i got there they quickly downplayed his injury saying it was just a tiny cut and sent us home with a wrapped (bandaged) paw which i paid a total of 160 for. Then they called the day to take it off (which was odd to me considering how much he bled) so they took his bandage off and took back the leg cover and cone. After two days i tried to ease him back into physical activity by taking him on a short walk.. as soon as we got going his paw started bleeding out badly! At that time they were closed so i had to wait until the next day. That next morning his paw was still bleeding an insane amount (he chewed off anything i tried to put on him) and i took him there and asked for a quote on how much it would be and no one could tell me. They called and said he was ready for pick up and that he had developed an infection from it not being bandaged!!!! So i had to pay a 40 revisit fee and another 58 for the infection medicine!! BOTH ARE CAUSED BY THERE FAULTS!! What really pissed me off was that they refused to give him a bandaged and i begged for one!! I asked them how is he going to be able to not continue to get infected if he’s running around with an open wound and they said “keep an eye on him” “ wear a leash” . I’ll make sure to the best of my ability the no one in my community ever goes back there!! They will be hearing from me ..

Anyone looking for a compassionate vet look no further than Dr Gross at GAH. Such an intelligent doctor. He is always willing to think outside the box on how to best treat my Chihuahua who has several health issues, and I am convinced I would have lost my beloved pet ages ago without being fortunate enough to have found Dr Gross. Where other vets saw a problem dog, Dr Gross took the time to really look through his case and provide a higher quality of life with his treatment plans. He cares about the animals but also cares about the wellbeing of his clients. Never seems like he is in a hurry in the exam room and always makes sure your questions are answered. I have never once felt like GAH was about money, and in fact Dr Gross has always seemed to be a minimalist on drugs and procedures he recommends for my pet. He is the best, and the whole staff at GAH deserves a 10 star rating. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful clinic and boarding facility. Not only is it clean and efficient, the staff is warm and caring. We have always been treated with the utmost respect, and Shugg has always been very well tended. We've boarded her multiple times and she loved it. The care she received for medical treatments was always gentle and kind. When she was finally diagnosed with kidney failure, the vet discussed all options with us and treated us as if we were family. Their sensitivity and caring will always be deeply appreciated by us. We can recommend this clinic with the highest praise.

We recently took our four cats (Chaos, Boots, Maxx & Sandy) to Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for the first time since we moved to the area. We did a lot of research and they had not only the most reviews but consistently high reviews. Also, the estimates they gave us were in the ballpark of some but lower than most. Based on all this, they became our obvious choice of where to go. This initial visit was for a checkup and everyone came out with high marks however Maxx did need to return for a dental treatment. He had to have a few teeth pulled but the staff was very accommodating in answering all questions we had. Dr. Gross called when the procedure was complete and was very patient in answering any questions I had as well as listening to my concerns. Maxx was sent home with a couple of meds we needed to give him in the days after his procedure and quickly became his old self. The staff followed up a few days later asking us how he was doing and wanting to know if we had any questions. A few days after this we got a letter and coupon thanking us for choosing them and inviting us to return in the future. These first visits assured us we had found a place we can confidently return in the future to get the best care.

This vet has been a much better experience for me and my animals than our previous East Nashville vet (who was always trying to up-sell us on everything). They were also very helpful and accommodating with our new rescue pup, and their hours are great!If you want an honest, caring, and helpful vet, this is the spot.

We were referred to Goodlettsville A.H by our veterinarian at Root Animal Clinic. They have a wonderful boarding facility and our dogs are always in good spirits when we drop off/pick up. Our weimaraner has separation anxiety and often times we have found him to be very distraught when picking him up from boarding, but that is not the case with GAH. We trust them with our fur children and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for overnight boarding. Thank you Goodlettsville Animal Shelter for giving us a piece of mind when we are away! :)

Not only does he provide Lucy with exceptional care, he always takes the time to ensure I fully understood any necessary treatment. I frequently utilize their boarding and grooming services as well - which are top notch. I have a great piece of mind knowing that the vet techs will look after my dog the way I would (especially Tracy...she always goes out of her way to look after Lucy). Paulette does a fantastic job grooming and I'm always excited to see how she will "dress up" Lucy. I can't say enough good things about this amazingly talented and caring staff. I took my dog to Goodlettesville Animal Hospital with a small red spot on the back of her shoulder area. They diagnosed it as a hot spot and sent me home with a treatment plan which included drying up...
I took my dog to Goodlettesville Animal Hospital with a small red spot on the back of her shoulder area. They diagnosed it as a hot spot and sent me home with a treatment plan which included drying up/hardening the scab (very bad for puncture wounds). About 2-3 days later, large amounts of serum and blood were dripping out of her wound. I went back in to GAH and they discovered that my dog had a puncture wound (not a hot spot) and would need extensive surgery. When I picked her up several hours later, she had a cone shaped wound that was about 3" diameter at the top and 2" deep and another wound they had to make because she had developed an additional pocket of infection under the skin (due to the hardened scab). This new huge wound and the smaller new wound required constant care and took over a month to heal completely. None of this would have been necessary had this issue been diagnosed properly in the first place.

Dr. P was lovely, and very good with my kitty. They even allowed me to settle up still in the exam room, which was nice .. no toting a freaked-out cat into the waiting room to hang with the other scared animals while I took care of running a credit card. Will definitely be going back, and feel lucky to have a great vet so close by!

I took both of my cats here before moving. I was told one of my cats was underweight, but that it was simply muscle mass loss due to his age. Fast forward to two months later, and I found out that prognosis was wildly incorrect! My baby has a large tumor in his stomach and there's not much we can do about it. I don't know if it's incompetence or plain laziness that is practiced here, but they aren't really helping pets if they're missing things other vets can detect before they even did an x-ray. Hopefully, none of you will have to bring home a sick baby like I did today, wondering how things could be different if he would've had the correct prognosis months ago.

I used to really respect GAH and trusted them with the care of my fur babies, but the last two visits have been horrible. Today was the last straw during a simple Rabies vax appointment. The techs decided that my calm, obedient 14-month old dog needed to be held down to draw blood because "Her legs are so long," despite her being exceptionally well behaved the entire time. When the second tech came in, they backed her into a corner and tried to force her down (where she had been waiting patiently not 5 minutes before). My dog growled at them so I asked them to hold off since she doesn't know either of them, but they continued to agitate her, so she snarled and tried to bite one of them. They acted as though they had never dealt with this before and ran out of the room to get a muzzle, made me put it on her, and wouldn't look me in the eye from then on. Everyone, Dr. included, spoke to me with disdain when I tried to apologize for her behavior multiple times and suggested that my dog needed additional training and that it was our fault for not socializing her. She has been through extensive training and her daycare attendants LOVE her, so this is absolutely not the case. The Vet even insinuated that she had done this before, which is also not the case. I will be taking my business elsewhere and you should too.

Not impressed. My family and I used to bring our dogs here all the time for vet visits, grooming and boarding. We haven't lately because we have since moved out of the area. I'm about to leave to go out of town for a funeral and when I call about boarding, I get an attitude from whoever was on the other end about our account being "inactive" since we haven't been there in a while and more attitude about what we would need to bring to show proof of up to date shot records, otherwise, we would be charged more. So instead of dealing with more attitude, I said never mind and hung up. For the record, we had previously went to this place consistently for 7-8 yrs and regardless of how long it has been since I've brought my dogs to your establishment, there is no need for attitude when I am trying to give you business. This isn't the first time that this has happened, as I also received the same amount of attitude when I called about grooming my dog and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. You can keep your rude staff and I'll go elsewhere with my money. Thanks.

Not impressed. My family and I used to bring our dogs here all the time for vet visits, grooming and boarding. We haven't lately because we have since moved out of the area. I'm about to leave to go out of town for a funeral and when I call about boarding, I get an attitude from whoever was on the other end about our account being "inactive" since we haven't been there in a while and more attitude about what we would need to bring to show proof of up to date shot records, otherwise, we would be charged more. So instead of dealing with more attitude, I said never mind and hung up. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and doctors. Reasonably priced. Clean environment. But I think it's wrong for a doctor to prescribe something for your pet and require one to purchase it only from them. I've asked several times for a script with which to purchase meds elsewhere, and they refuse.

Do not go to this vet. At one time they had a very professional, very caring young lady vet but she left. Most awful experience I've ever had and most rude vet ever. Guess we looked very poor that day...
Do not go to this vet. At one time they had a very professional, very caring young lady vet but she left. Most awful experience I've ever had and most rude vet ever. Guess we looked very poor that day as he had no time for what was a very serious situation and gave us a price for MRI @$3500. Which we found we could get for $1000. when we took him to another vet, Just a horrid situation.

Paulette is the best groomer!!!! My little one is treated like a princess there. She actual likes to go, and is always beautiful when I pick her up.We've been going there for years.

We recently moved to the area and took our dogs to the Goodlettsville Animal Hospital for their annual shots. The staff was courteous and friendly, which is something that we look for in a veterinary service. However, we left our visit with the feeling that we received and were charged for services that we didn't specifically request. Also, we felt that we were slightly overcharged for some of the services that we did request. When all was said and done, we were charged substantially more for this visit than we had been charged by various other veterinarians in the previous five years for annual vaccinations. I doubt that we will be returning for a follow up visit next year. If you do find yourself at the Goodlettsville Animal Hospital, I recommend clarifying the services and charges on the front end

Caring and very knowledgable staff and veterinarians. We have had a chronically ill young dog who has to be seen monthly basis and each one of the vets and techs and staff has been so personable and truly caring. They regularly call to follow up on problems and are quick to call back to answer calls. They have been very flexible on making and changing appointments. I highly recommend them for your dog or cat.

I discovered Goodlettsville Animal Hospital during the flood in May of 2010. The flood waters were coming up to my house and I fled with my pets. My cats are bad about shredding furniture so I didn't want to leave them with family or friends. I drove up to Goodlettsville Animal Hospital 5 minutes AFTER they closed for the day, knocked on the door and explained my situation. They normally do NOT accept animals for boarding in the kennel without proof of vaccinations. This seemed like a very good policy to protect all the occupants, but I didn't have the paperwork, so I said just go ahead and vaccinate them while they're here. I left them there 2 nights while we waited for the water to recede. When I picked them up Monday, they were healthy and happy. Also, the vet had decided NOT to vaccinate them since he did not know their history. He just kept them on the hospital side instead of the boarding side. Since then we have taken both of our dogs there for grooming and one dog for health issues. The staff and the facilities are lovely and we plan to continue to use them in the future.
