Bringing our cat Arabelle to TAC in Hendersonville was the best decision we have have made! They have worked hard to make sure our fur baby is taken care of an comfortable. There was a point in time that we thought we might lose her, but Dr. Piper has done everything she can to make sure that doesn’t happen and we are forever grateful for her. I can't honestly rate this business's services because my dog and I received none. I recently moved to Hendersonville and picked this vet because of the great reviews. After calling to make an appointment for a simple nail trim I was told to bring my dog anytime from 2-6. In hindsight, maybe this should have been an indication of what occurred. After waiting for half an hour, I asked when we would be taken back to be told there were several appointments ahead. My disappointment and frustration stem from not being told this when I called to initially make an appointment or told this when I arrived. Above and Beyond! My family had to evacuate to Hendersonville from FL as IRMA was headed towards them. They rented a car and drove up with the entire family, including 2 dogs. They had to get shots and records to fly back to florida so I suggested they come here (They used to groom my cat). When my sister went to pick pay, they wouldnt take their money. They said they had been through enough so it was free of charge. My sister was speechless. This would not happen in Florida. Should have heeded the warnings on the boarding here. Picked up my dog and he has a bleeding and swollen face. Obviously no one checked on our dog frequently or someone would have noticed he was "stressed around the other animals" as they said. Said he was rubbing his face against the kennel. Dropped off on a Saturday and they are closed on Sundays so we picked him up Monday. So just an FYI, no one is checking on the animals very often if you board on a weekend. We LOVE the Animal Clinic. Two of our girls have gone there since they were puppies and are now 11 and 12. A third puppy came to us as a foster and is now 13 and since she has been with us she has gone to the Animal Clinic as well. We can't say enough about the entire staff. They have seen us through surgeries and illnesses and all kinds of ups and downs. They have the best staff and the best Doctors anywhere. They even took the time to give an interview to my Grandson for one of his cub scout badges he was working on. Thank you Animal Clinic and all your super staff. Dr. Hale and the entire staff have been amazing to our precious dog Shea. She went through a lot the last 4 years and Dr. Hale was so caring, compassionate and did a great job looking after her. He would call us and see us any time no matter what we needed. You can tell how much he loves what he does and I would've driven hours just to have him care for her. She lost her battle yesterday morning but she would've lost it 4 years ago had it not been for the care given to her by Dr. Hale. We will be eternally grateful for all he did for her and for us. I€ve read several reviews € both positive and negative about The Animal Clinic. We€ve been using them for about 10 years. They have cried with us when we had to our dog had cancer and reached the end of her journey, rejoiced with us when another dog (Laci) found us and laugh with us at the crazy antics of our dogs. And the groomers, I€ll just say Izzy loves her Spa day and is always so cute and happy when I pick her up. Sometimes my Vet bill seems high, but so do my Doctor bills. I don€t think I could find a team of employees that love my dogs as much as I do. My dogs recognize their voices and get excited when they hear them. Izzy has to see (and be loved on by) each employee at the Clinic before we can leave. I hate the parking lot and would love it if the Clinic was on some grassy property but my Dogs love the people and that€s important to me. Read Less

I have been taking all my fur babies to Dr. Shannon and Dr. Flatt for 30 years. They are the best! They truly care about your animals and I totally trust them, and all the wonderful people that work with them. I also use The Animal Clinic for boarding my pets when I go out of town. I was shocked when my fiance came home and told me they charged him $86 for an office visit along with an aspiration of a burst abcess which they were not able to retrieve any fluid from. It doesn't seem like the honest thing to do. Read Less

While the doctors are wonderful the front desk ladies needs a bit of training on how to deal with people. I work customer service as well so I do understand that there are times that your stress level is high. Nevertheless even when called just to set an appointment I was met with a rude, unhappy person that obviously did not care to be there on the other end. This has not been the first time either. I would drive 100 miles to take my pets to The Animal Clinic! Fortunately, they are located in Hendersonville, TN where I live but I would NEVER consider another veterinarian. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, efficient and just the best of the BEST. It was our first time seeing Dr Flatt last week. He was amazing. My son, Barrett is autistic and the pet we brought to the vet is his autistic service dog. Barrett is always full of interesting comments and Dr. Flatt showed interest in everything Barrett had to say. Absolutely one of the nicest vets I've ever had dealings with hands down. Even Barrett was talking about Dr. Flatt later that day and how nice he was. Barrett likes it when grown ups seem to listen to his sometimes ramblings. Read Less

My dog Molly seemed to have a new something wrong with her every other month. She definitely was a special needs dog. Her conditions included allergies, skin infections, ear problems (for which she needed 2 surgeries for each ear), and a life-threatening bout of hepatitis. I have used The Animal Clinic for seven years now, since I got my two cats, as kittens. This veterinary office is tops in my book. My male kitty was treated for a urinary blockage several years ago which was extremely dangerous and traumatic for him but the wonderful doctors at The Animal Clinic took great care of my Paladin2 and nursed him back to health and prescribed a food that would prevent this from ever happening again. He has been great ever since. They are kind, attentive, compassionate, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I wouldn't take my fur babies anywhere else! Read Less

Is it so hard to acknowledge a customer/client when they come into your business? I was totally ignored by the 2 ladies at the counter, and they even walked by me and didn't say a word. Finally, after several minutes, I was approached, and I was treated as I was bothering them.The management of this clinic needs to train and teach their staff about GOOD customer service. There are several other animal clinics I can take my dog to, and plan to do my research to take my business elsewhere. Read Less

Our animals are an extension of our family.  So, we aren't going to take them to any old place for boarding, grooming and medical examinations.  I'm a big fan of the Animal Clinic because they treat the pets as if they were their own pets.  You can't ask for any more.  I would have given them 5* but the location is a little difficult to get out of when leaving. I had to take my male cat to The Animal Clinic after he had been to the ER at Rivergate the night before. He was experiencing urinary tract problems and was ""blocked."" The ER closed and I had to take him to our vet, which is The Animal Clinic. Everyone I dealt with at the Animal Clinic was very professional, caring and knowledgeable. The receptionists were very compassionate and kind and made me feel comfortable and put me and my sick kitty in an examination room immediately. The doctor came in, read the paperwork from the ER and examined my kitty and sent us home with instructions to come back in 2 days, on a Monday. The veterinarian treated my kitty as if he was her own cat and she was very thorough and considerate. We went back in a couple of days and at that point, my cat wasn't eating and the doctor didn't feel the catheter needed to be removed yet. They kept him a few days, taking excellent care of him and he recovered nicely and they changed my cat's diet to a bladder health formula by Hill's that is only available thru prescription. I am well pleased and while this might not be the cheapest place to take my animals, it's the BEST place, in my opinion. I have asked around and whenever The Animal Clinic's name comes up, it's always good. I cannot say that for any of the other veterinarians in the Hendersonville or Gallatin area. We have two standard poodles we took to have groomed here. We take them to the clinic for ALL of their veterinary care, but will not be bringing them back here to be groomed. When we picked them up they looked cute, but when I got home there was blood everywhere in my car. BOTH dogs had their nails trimmed too close, and after cleaning the blood up, I noticed "hotspots" (red rashy burns from the clippers) around their neck and under their arms. I was livid! I didnt call because the two times prior they did fairly decent, perhaps someone had a bad day... And I absolutely LOVE all of the doctors in the clinic! They are wonderful! I just WOULD NOT recommend their grooming sevices. Read Less

I took my cat to this clinic simply because it was the one closest to my home, and I wanted to limit the amount of time my cat had to ride in the car (because she hates it.) One thing that is neat is that they have 2 entrance doors - one for dogs, and one for cats. This is nice because cats waiting don't have to be in the same room as dogs. We usually went there for vaccinations and grooming. The vaccinations I thought were overpriced compared to other clinics. The grooming, however, was great. I liked to get my cat's fur completely shaved a few times a year because she had a very thick undercoat that would always get matted, and she was always groomed very evenly. However, I no longer go to this clinic anymore because my cat got cancer and I felt like they didn't try to help her at all. After she was diagnosed, they told me I could take her to UT Knoxville (which would cost around $3,000) or I could just basically wait for her to die. I couldn't afford to take her to Knoxville, so we just tried to give her the most comfortable life possibly in her time left. Her health aggressively got worse over the next 3 months, and we ended up taking her back there to see if there was ANYTHING they could do at all, and they just recommended we put her to sleep because they couldn't help her at all . . . and we made the decision to do that because she was suffering quite a bit, and if they couldn't help her, well, we sure couldn't either. I know it isn't necessarily their fault that they couldn't help her - I know they're not a full animal hospital, but I feel like they could have at least done something, ya know? Also, the amount we were charged for her final office visit and euthanasia was ridiculous. This isn't a bad clinic by any means, but I don't feel that they went out of their way to try to help my kitty. Read Less
