It remains emotionally feasible for Tennessee families as they deliberate care plan logistics. Upon arrival, the animals undergo a check-in process where observers evaluate their responses to scent layers, flooring texture, eye contact, and movement stimuli in conjunction with medical assessments. The examination begins through the clinicians’ workflow and posture signals, which slow down or pause when handling feedback alters due to patients’ restlessness, breath changes, or resistance. Examinations include checks on the coat's density and moisture, the muscles' development, the limbs' mobility, the teeth' surfaces and mouth temperature, as well as flexibility of abdomen. Homeowners are invited to the meetings where previous behaviors are discussed. Subtle changes in daily routines and voice energy patterns provide guidance and support for future actions. Structured diagnostics and disease mapping, the basics of the Volunteer Veterinary Clinic’s services such as pain monitoring, vaccinations, and aging wellness. The format of flexible appointments also allows the visits to be one-off or staged over several days according to the pet and family’s emotional tolerance. Communication in between visits is enhanced by visual tools including diagrams, tracking calendars, and photo logs. The nature of follow-up care shifts from mere reminders to comprehensive discussions. The method of check-ins relies on achieving behavioral milestones rather than strictly adhering to a timetable. Pet owners are educated to pay attention to how the animal regulates its senses during the activity reentry after a visit, especially for those that either withdraw or externalize. Volunteer Veterinary Clinic provides veterinary services in Hendersonville and nearby Tennessee areas by initiating care through awareness, respecting at-home rhythms, and honoring physical or emotional thresholds.

I am a very new Vol Vet customer and I have never experienced this level of customer service. I recently rescued a bunny with NO knowledge of how to care for them. My bunny seemed very content and healthy for a few weeks and then he suddenly stopped eating. I was a walk in right when they opened and they walked me right back. The vet sat down with me and carried on a genuine conversation about how to properly care for and maintain my new pet. I called back 2 days later to ensure we were on the right track and spoke directly to the vet within 30 seconds. I have received several follow up calls to check in on my bunny. I was very satisfied with my visit to Volunteer Veterinary Clinic. My Gecko that is 8 years old, was in extremely bad shape and I had actually thought I would have to put him to sleep. Dr. Dixon spent a lot of time examining him, he give me my options and assured me that he could possibly make it and he doesn't give up on animals if he thinks there is a chance, but it was up to me. I decided to give Gecky the chance. After fluid shots, eye drops, vitamins, antibiotics for Rot mouth, and enema - lol, Gecky got better. Turns out my Gecko was vitamin A deficient and after 2 shots of the vitamins, my Gecky is fat, happy and smiling once again. I now give him calcium with vitamin A in it and he has been doing wonderful. Read Less

I am reasonably satisfied with my experiences at Volunteer. I sought them out after our previous veterinarian (who shall remain nameless) disgusted me with the condition of his facility. They are located in a reasonably new metal type structure by the industrial park. They have a large amount of space to let a dog wander and perhaps make a "sample" prior to a visit. They have a reasonably comfortable waiting area. One tacky feature is that they are selling pet headstones in the waiting area. I was not asked to prepay for services at any time. I've never waited more than a few minutes to get an examination room, but I have waited up to perhaps 20 minutes or even a half an hour before being served once inside an examination room. They do need to work on their speediness. While waiting, I have heard the staff in the back yelling at each other and talking inappropriately within earshot of customers, especially one of the veterinarians. I'm perfectly satisfied with their facilities. Clean, no odor, and up to date. Their medical services have similarly been decent. My chihuahua has had regular check ups and vaccinations for two years, plus a tooth extraction and cleaning, and a few acute ailments. I've never been disparaged about my choice of breed, although I do suspect they aren't as happy with small dogs, and I do feel they've been a little rough with him at times, treating him like a larger dog. That said, he has always come back healthy and I'm not really complaining, just offering constructive criticism. I will also say the veterinarians I've had contact with were a little grumpy, but not sufficiently so that it has been an issue. They seem overworked. Their prices are a litter higher than my previous veterinarian. I'd say they are probably on the high side for the area, but not horrifically. Lab testing is reasonably cheap, but vaccines and procedures are a little pricy. Their billing is usually accurate. They also accommodated me with a complicated health certificate one day, although that was surprisingly expensive considering it just confirmed the results of their own (already compensated for) examination. Could they use some fine tuning? Yes. But... Will I continue to go there? Yes. Would I recommend them? Yes. Read Less

But I will say, that I think so much of the folks at Vol Vet that despite moving out of H'ville, I still make the 45 minute - one way drive back to thier clinic when it's time for one of my babies to have a check up or if they are feeling bad. I would like to commend the staff at Volunteer Vet. My puppy, since day one of his little life, has allergies. Vol. Vet personnel worked with me diligently to see to it that my boy was taken care of. Everytime my puppy was taken to see one of the Vet's, the staff treated him with lots of hugs and love. We virtually tried every kind of medication to help with the allergies. Now, he is eating food and taking very little medication that is helping to deal with his allergies and he is doing 95% better. It took awhile to find the right combination of medication and food to help get puppy well. His coat looks better. His compulsive licking is minimal and he just feels better overall. He is a much happier little boy. People at Vol. Vet are wonderful, and you know who you are! Thank you for taking care of my boy! Read Less

The level of service here is outstanding and I feel thankful to have found them!Read Less

My wee Mjolnir had to have her foot amputated yesterday. We were so afraid that they'd have to put her to sleep because we couldn't afford the surgery she'd need. At the last minute, the vet came in and said that they were going to go ahead and give her the surgery she needed and all they asked me to pay was $100! They even gave me the take home medicine and follow up visits at no charge. I was so happy and relieved that I cried and didn't think I'd ever be able to stop. Thank you thank you to the amazing vets and techs at Volunteer Veterinary for saving my hedgehog's life! Read Less

Read Less

The past few months our boxer has been sick and Volunteer Vet. Clinic has been relentless in getting her better. The entire staff has been so caring and very thorough. Richard Suter has been bringing their pets there for years and I can honestly say we will never go anywhere else. Harley was diagnosed with pancreatitis and a possible brain tumor late last year. They have called other specialists for options and treatments, provided us with homemade low-fat (and inexpensive) food options. They are truly amazing!Thank you so much for taking care of our baby girl!xo Read Less

Yes. Read Less

I have been using Vol Vet for over 15 years and my mom has been using them longer than I. I can't say enough good things about them; they are amazingly wonderful! The whole staff is friendy and caring and there are plenty of experieced vets & techs on staff. I have many great stories of experience with Vol Vet - too many to list here. But I will say, that I think so much of the folks at Vol Vet that despite moving out of H'ville, I still make the 45 minute - one way drive back to thier clinic when it's time for one of my babies to have a check up or if they are feeling bad. It is so totally worth the time and drive. I trust their knowledge; I love them and my animals love them too! Read Less

Read Less
