Animal Dental Services

Knoxville, Tennessee
General Info
Animal Dental Services in Knoxville bases its care approach on pets' long-term expressions to deliver proactive strategies to Tennessee homes. Initial visits focus on comfort where pets have the opportunity to explore the space and express their reactions without any time constraints. Before initiating any physical examination, the veterinary team monitors subtle indicators such as eye movements, tail positioning, gait changes, and pressure sensitivity. Physical checkups consist of joint tracking hydration analysis weight monitoring gum tone coat texture and thermal regulation patterns. Through meticulous observation of morning activities, sleep patterns, vocal behaviors, and recent behavioral changes, owners participate in the monitoring process. Animal Dental Services provides treatment plans for acute problems, surgical interventions, seasonal health adjustments, and chronic condition management. Support includes laboratory testing services, imaging referrals, infection prevention measures, senior animal care protocols, and emotionally-informed recovery checklists. Plans undergo strategic spacing and sequencing to minimize stress while ensuring the owner remains informed without feeling overwhelmed particularly when managing multiple pets or complex diagnoses. The essence of communication stands as the foundational core. After every visit notes are sent while optional follow-ups depend on pets' adjustment progress instead of preset calendar reminders. Instruction enables owners to detect nuanced indicators of regression as well as signals of progression to subsequent stages. Long-term care incorporates pacing choice-based scheduling and reassurance strategies. The approach to veterinary care throughout Knoxville and Tennessee by Animal Dental Services relies on observable animal behavior combined with family input to develop care plans that maintain consistency and compassion from beginning to end.

Our cat had been run over by a car. This photo is 10 days after getting part of his upper jaw put back together at the ER. We were then referred to the Knoxville Animal Dental facility where Dr. Burton and her staff found the bottom jaw was also broken as well as several teeth and a shattered eye socket. With all that needed to be repaired he looks, acts, breathes and eats normally; however he is now an inside cat. I would definitely refer them to anyone with animal dental issues. Read Less

Took our husky, who has already had one surgery at a regular vet resulting in the removal of 13 teeth, to see Dr. Startup in February for extractions and cleaning. Turned out that she needed an additional 11 teeth removed, and the experience of this surgery was so much better for our dog. She was not overly groggy / doped up coming out of anesthesia, and didn't cry for her pain medication at any point during recovery (after her first surgery she was in a significant amount of pain, and it was only her tiny front incisors that were removed - this surgery was for premolars on both sides of her mouth). I cannot recommend Dr. Startup and Animal Dental Services enough, she did amazing work and her assistant Stephanie was very helpful with my post surgery questions. Read Less
