The clinic method employs species-specific protocols and techniques to gauge the patient’s emotions in order to avoid overstimulation and adjusts when tolerance thresholds are reached. The method views owners as full partners. Clinicians use it as an input when they observe the pet’s behavior in its home setting, such as where they sleep, how they act after a storm, and their interaction with new textures. Banfield Pet Hospital provides a variety of veterinary medical services, which include preventive care planning and diagnostics as well as programs related to internal medicine, nutrition, dental health, and senior wellness for different animal species. The scheduling of each procedure is precisely adjusted to fit the animal’s ability to stay calm and focused. Some pets undergo diagnostic procedures at multiple visits combined with the anxiety-reduction training program. Exotic pets receive individualized techniques of management aimed at preventing the effects of stress on health. Following medical appointments, parents are taught to monitor pain signals and be vigilant of the baby’s interactions. They also receive post-care guidelines for monitoring exposure to sound or activity and resumption of normal interaction. Treatment plans are rhythmic since they embody the timing structures for halting, pausing, and evaluating progress. Banfield as a company is a little expensive but im telling you the staff at this place makes it all worth it... And if you sign up for their pet plan it can end up saving you an INCREDIBLE amout of money. We mostly see Dr. Dickson who it a literal sweet Angel, and Dr. Hodge who has the soul of a saint. Their ability to treat not just your pet's health but also your heart for your pet is amazing. They are pesonable and kind and wise. These people are amazing doctors and some of the best people we have ever known (not even over exaggerating)! They have walked us though some hard times with 3 of our senior cats this last year and they were always honest with us about what was best for our sweet fur babies and never ran tests or anything else just for the sake of getting more money out of us. Dr. Dickson has cried with and for us as we have said goodbye to a few of our kitties and the staff has come to just be almost a 2nd family for our critters. They care! They care about you and they care about your pet! They always work us in when we show up with a weird situation or emergency with our pup or kitty cat. The techs are also 5 star! Brian, Amanda, Kayla.... Everyone... Man these people are really awesome people. We are always kept well informed and i promise the staff is a fountian of priceless information. I legit wish they were MY doctors. I will forever bring my pets to Dr. Dickson and Dr. Hodge. You should too. Read Less

Just left here after paying a huge sum of money to be told that I am abusing my beloved pup. I have used Banfield for almost 2 years now, but after today I won't be coming back. My 10 month old shepherd went in for a torn nail that he got from a fight with an aggressive dog. They ended up having to remove his nail, but they did so with no numbing agent or sedation, which was extremely sensitive. I'm 8 months pregnant and he's extremely attached to me, to the point where I have to have somebody come dog sit for me when I'm at work to keep him from getting too anxious, so he was in pain and without me near to soothe him. When they brought him back out to me, the vet had a huge packet telling me how to train him and also had the PetSmart trainers come try to consult with me. I refuse to use the PetSmart trainers after already wasting my money on them for private lessons and seeing no difference. They are also not AKC evaluators, so how am I supposed to get his S.T.A.R Puppy and CGC certifications through them? The trainer we currently see has turned my boy around obedience wise, AND is an evaluator. My boy already has his S.T.A.R Puppy certification and is on track for his CGC when he turns a year old. At this point, they're accusing me of abusing my dog and telling me to consider rehoming my pup because he's anxious after having something painful done to him. I am absolutely livid over this accusation, because my boy only gets the best of the best from me and is obviously well taken care of. Before we cancelled our plan, I just wanted to make it known that I felt that this encounter was extremely unprofessional and has turned me off of PetSmart for good. I would like to add an update on my Bismarck now that months have passed. Since this encounter, my once sweet boy has completely changed. He now has to be put under at every vet visit with his new vet because he can't go in without acting out of fear. We tried to muzzle him at first, but after traumatic events of us trying to muzzle him to undo the bandage he was given at this visit he gets aggressive as soon as he sees one. We can no longer allow many into our home without quarantining him because he no longer trusts most people. Our trainer has to put in extra work to try and regain his trust because he was the one that helped us remove the bandage. My dog has not been, and most likely never will be, the dog I worked extremely hard with to help him trust humans after his abusive start in life .This experience has set my relationship and his training back farther than I imagined it would, and I got absolutely nothing back from Banfield after this. Not even an apology. I would also like to add that I showed our new vet pictures of the bandage that was on him, along with the bandage remains we saved after cutting it off, and she agreed that if we hadn't of removed it when we did my Bis would've lost his leg due to loss of circulation. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. This place is way over priced. They are a very money hungry business. They vets may seem nice but they didn't know what they were doing when it came to my dog. After wasting $300 on a "food allergy" diet plan for three months found out my dog had an ear infections that two different vets looked at and just overlooked. The medicine is over priced compared to anywhere else you go. Even after they neglected to see my dogs ear infection we decided to give them another chance (because we had spent money on the one year puppy wellness plan) WORST DECISION EVER!! We got fed a bunch of lies after my fiancé lost his debit card and missed some payments. We were happy to pay what we owed but we were told that once it was paid he could get fixed (by more then 1 person up front) only to get there and then telling us AFTER we paid for our puppy plan that INCLUDED the neutering of our dog that they were not going to do it. They just wanted to money and didn't give a care in the world about my dog for a second time. It is ridiculous and unsettling. On a positive note: the vets office is very clean and smells nice for a vets office. Read Less

I have only recently become a Banfield Pet Client and am only on my first visit after signing up for a Wellness Package. They were able to update my dog on all of her vaccines, check her blood, and more within the first visit, and I was given paperwork that was easy to understand as to what they found. I was also able to meet the vet, and a few members of the staff, and all were friendly and patient with all of my questions. The bad reviews for this particular location made me afraid to book an appointment here, but I am glad I gave it a try. I will be a regular for this year, and will update again if I find I am unhappy with my services, but for now, I am excited about getting my dog the care she needs, and getting help in her recovery. after looking over the reviews of this place and having actually been there myself, i just thought i should write a more recent review of this place. we take our apbt here as his primary care and have always had great experiences with very little to complain about other than the fact that they are very motivated to sell you on extra things you didn't walk in with plans to deal with. other than that they were very accommodating to our nervous pup. they also were very warm and inviting to make it less stressful for him. the nurses were always happy to talk about any and all issues. the vet themselves were knowledgeable and open to alternative ideas when talking about treatment and even offered advice as to help with behavior issues and ways to help us combat car sickness.the prices are reasonable also. not to mention they have what is kind of like a health insurance plan. for instance, for our puppy they had a plan to get all vaccinations and deworming and the option to come in for unlimited office visits for less than 100 bucks if memory serves me right........ all in all id recommend them to anyone.Read Less

after looking over the reviews of this place and having actually been there myself, i just thought i should write a more recent review of this place. we take our apbt here as his primary care and have always had great experiences with very little to complain about other than the fact that they are very motivated to sell you on extra things you didn't walk in with plans to deal with. other than that they were very accommodating to our nervous pup. they also were very warm and inviting to make it less stressful for him. the nurses were always happy to talk about any and all issues. the vet themselves were knowledgeable and open to alternative ideas when talking about treatment and even offered advice as to help with behavior issues and ways to help us combat car sickness.the prices are reasonable also. not to mention they have what is kind of like a health insurance plan. for instance, for our puppy they had a plan to get all vaccinations and deworming and the option to come in for unlimited office visits for less than 100 bucks if memory serves me right........ all in all id recommend them to anyone.Read Less
