The WORST vets ever. Do not use this facility. They are supposed to be "orthopedic specialist" yet they cannot even diagnos orthopedic issues. They kept telling me "it's autoimmune" and you need to se...
The WORST vets ever. Do not use this facility. They are supposed to be "orthopedic specialist" yet they cannot even diagnos orthopedic issues. They kept telling me "it's autoimmune" and you need to see an internal medicine vet, after they did PRP on my dog as they said he needed it. They then even gave me a referral! UT helped immensely and said "no autoimmune whatsoever". Paid Blackford an exorbitant amount of money only for their "expertise" to be dead wrong and life threatening to my dog. None of them, none at all, should be allowed to practice veterinary medicine. The damage to his leg, just for an IV was uncalled for, inexcusable and horrific for a vet practice.

Dr Blackford is awesome! I brought my teacup poodle Halee in to have pins removed but also a spot on her hip was a concern also. She checked her over while she had her for her surgery and found a mass. My vet had already checked her but not as well as I would have liked. Thank you Dr Blackford for investigating this spot. I am hoping the cells you got will come back as nothing as this little one is deeply loved! Dr Blackford is a great surgeon I wouldn't take my little ones anywhere else!

I was so pleased with Dr BLACKFORD today. I went in thinking she needed an ACL repair, and Dr.Blackford said she did not! She Listened to me, and was very knowledgeable,professional,informative and friendly. It was so refreshing to have a doctor actually LISTEN to me and work with me for the best interest of my fur baby. I would definitely recommend her. She will most certainly be in our lives from here on in!

Excellent hospital! The staff is friendly, organized & knowledgeable. Dr Hodshon is an excellent surgeon and a deeply caring person. Dr Blackford has done surgeries on both past & current pets as and is at the top of the field in knee surgery. I have the utmost confidence in her as well. When one of my dogs needs a complicated surgery, I will always turn to them.

After saving up for a year and waiting for months, I finally brought home my dream show puppy in March. The day before he turned 4 months he landed wrong playing and fractured his elbow. I took him straight to a local vet, who misdiagnosed the fracture and sent us home. 5 days later we made it to Blackford, and as soon as I walked in I knew he was in good hands. The receptionist, Tammy, was wonderful at communicating with me and the vet. All of the techs were so knowledgeable and truly had my boy’s best interest in mind. And Dr. Hodshon was absolutely phenomenal. She is so passionate and talented at what she does. When we went home we were sent with all of the medicine we needed, a cone, and even pill pockets. They gave me a step by step, week by week detailed packet covering every element of his recovery. I didn’t feel worried at all taking my puppy home after his surgery. Without the incredible people at Blackford referral, my boy wouldn’t have the chance at a normal life like he does now. I hope my pets never need orthopedic surgery again, but if they do there is no question I’ll take them to Blackford to get the best possible chance at successful surgery and recovery. Thank you all so much, I am so grateful.

We have nothing but 100% positive things to say about Dr. Blackford surgery center. From the moment we were greeted, we felt right at ease and comfortable here. Our dog Rocky is a "special" case due paralysis, yet he has taught himself how to walk again due to his stubbornness. We were nervous that Dr. Blackford (and in our case Dr. Hodshon) would possibly take him into surgery without understanding his full condition. In reality, she spent over an hour talking to us, analyzing Rocky and his physical & neurological symptoms, and basically sending us back home because he did not need surgery after all. I love that they were completely open and honest with me the entire time, and so sweet to our little Rocky.

Peyton had TPLO surgery on November 1st she saw Dr. Hodshon and she did a excellent job. Blackford Surgery Referral has been great to work with before and after surgery. Before our surgery I literally emailed them with a ton of questions and they were so helpful in answering and helping put my mind at ease. Everyone we have dealt with has been so friendly and helpful. Today we’re in week 10 of her recovery, we’ve followed their instructions to the letter and everything has went exactly as they described. Although I hope Peyton never has to have surgery again I know without question this is where we will go. Thank you to the Blackford staff!! You guys are amazing!

Dr. Bogue was very helpful and reassuring about what we needed to do to get Blue on the road to recovery. He is feeling much better today. We're still almost one week home with our elderly babe who had his gallbladder and bladder stones out. I'm sure his surgeons were top notch, but my thanks goes out to Dr. Bogue who kept an anxious mom informed and would send text pics and short videos when he was up for it. She kept me informed during the discovery quest to see if he could withstand the surgery and of course, afterwards.I know she gave him excellent care and perhaps next week, we'll all have more sleep-lol. I should also had he's a blind diabetic which complicated things medically, but I'm so glad they were all there(DVMs). If you love your fur babe and it's above your regular vet's knowledge, this is the place for you to go-even if you go only for the referral process. As I'm rambling during my sleep time(sleep when the babe sleeps), I'll write a better update next week. Please read between my lines if you don't get that I'm totally impressed with his care there.

Dr. Blackford and staff were wonderful to me and my little 14-year old Jack Russell Kipper yesterday. We traveled from between Athens and Cleveland to see them and it was worth the trip and traffic! No surgery needed for Kipper but he's being treated with meds. I am so relieved to finally know what is going on and for the amount of time Dr. Blackford took with us. Dr. Blackford was our last hope and she came through for us and will be there for more support if needed.

Because of them my dog is back to his old self again and gets to finish out living his life happily! Geoffrey rarely lets veterinarians touch him but he took to her very well. My dog was referred here for major abdominal surgery (spleenectomy) which at his advanced age, I was very apprehensive. I was also depressed thinking I would not be able to afford it. My dog Rudy had a very successful surgery under the care of the high tech team. The facilities are truly state of the art and more advanced than many people hospitals! The procedures and equipment are first class. They have many payment options including the Payment Banc which I wish more vets would offer as it allowed me to afford the major surgery. I am so happy to say Rudy's operation was highly successful and his recovery phenomenal. Both of us thank Blackford Vet for adding more years to our time together!

Everyone we have dealt with has been so friendly and helpful. Today we’re in week 10 of her recovery, we’ve followed their instructions to the letter and everything has went exactly as they described. Although I hope Peyton never has to have surgery again I know without question this is where we will go. Thank you to the Blackford staff!! You guys are amazing!

My husband and I would like to let everyone know that we had a great experience at this clinic and with Dr. Bogue. She took care of our puppy Blue. We could not figure out what was going on with him. Dr. Bogue was very helpful and reassuring about what we needed to do to get Blue on the road to recovery. He is feeling much better today. So we wanted to say Thank You for helping our boy Blue feel better.

We're still almost one week home with our elderly babe who had his gallbladder and bladder stones out. I'm sure his surgeons were top notch, but my thanks goes out to Dr. Bogue who kept an anxious mom informed and would send text pics and short videos when he was up for it. She kept me informed during the discovery quest to see if he could withstand the surgery and of course, afterwards.I know she gave him excellent care and perhaps next week, we'll all have more sleep-lol. I should also had he's a blind diabetic which complicated things medically, but I'm so glad they were all there(DVMs). If you love your fur babe and it's above your regular vet's knowledge, this is the place for you to go-even if you go only for the referral process. As I'm rambling during my sleep time(sleep when the babe sleeps), I'll write a better update next week. Please read between my lines if you don't get that I'm totally impressed with his care there.

Five star veterinarians work here who have international recognition. The location and reception is calm and and the utmost respect is given. It is located in a rural setting which is very soothing for the animal patient.

Dr. Blackford and staff were wonderful to me and my little 14-year old Jack Russell Kipper yesterday. We traveled from between Athens and Cleveland to see them and it was worth the trip and traffic! No surgery needed for Kipper but he's being treated with meds. I am so relieved to finally know what is going on and for the amount of time Dr. Blackford took with us. Dr. Blackford was our last hope and she came through for us and will be there for more support if needed.

Because of them my dog is back to his old self again and gets to finish out living his life happily! Geoffrey rarely lets veterinarians touch him but he took to her very well. At 6 lbs. he was awarded the smallest knee ever award!! I have a third yorkie who has been evaluated and will be needing knee surgery at some point and Blackford Veterinary Surgery Referral will certainly get my business.

My dog was referred here for major abdominal surgery (spleenectomy) which at his advanced age, I was very apprehensive. I was also depressed thinking I would not be able to afford it. My dog Rudy had a very successful surgery under the care of the high tech team. The facilities are truly state of the art and more advanced than many people hospitals! The procedures and equipment are first class. They have many payment options including the Payment Banc which I wish more vets would offer as it allowed me to afford the major surgery. I am so happy to say Rudy's operation was highly successful and his recovery phenomenal. Both of us thank Blackford Vet for adding more years to our time together!
