That used to be located on Magnolia. Now they can see your pets pretty quickly. They've saved my blue tick hound a few times and they always seemed to care that his quality of life as well as his future health were going to be as good as possible. When the day finally came that his quality of life was to the point where nothing that I nor they could do to improve upon it then I felt comforted by the way I was explained the situation and given the choice as to what I felt was the best option for him. We took our animal who is more like a child to Butler Animal Clinic. We have taken our animals there several times. We go to get a follow up x-ray on my dogs leg that has been broken 2 weeks after the last check up. We were told that he was showing good progress and to come back in 2 weeks by the doctor. Last week we get x-ray's and we are told bad news. The individual, a male, comes back in and tells us that his leg isn't healing at all and he'd come and tell us some options. He tells us we could have surgery or have our dog's leg amputated. Obviously we aren't keen on amputation but he tells us "three legged dogs have good lives too". So today we go and get consultation for surgery. The doctor wants to do another x-ray to see exactly what's going on with his leg. We find out that his leg is healing just fine! It's healing a little slower but he said that his leg is making progress. He told us to come back in 3 weeks to check up on progress that surgery was unneeded. What's worse is the gentleman from Butler Animal Clinic took poor scans and even had his hands in the pictures! Seeing as I and my girlfriend are both going back to school money is hard to come by. So we sell a one of a kind painting that I bought her for Christmas to help get close to the $2,600 amount we were quoted from a surgeon, all just to find out that it's completely unneeded. We have been going to the Butler Animal Clinic for a while now and we will not be back unless this is made right. This is completely uncalled for and unnecessary. Beware of this place. I won't be revisiting. First, the facility feels sterile, yet dirty at the same time. Not a good combination. The staff seems robotic, and too busy to truly provide customer service, and it's uncomfortable and awkward. I don't recall the male vet that did the check up, but my puppy started crying as soon as he began handling him. He wasn't hurting him, but something about his approach was jarring. He offered no solace toward my dog, which I found odd. He gave him a shot, but didn't discuss anything about it. Yes, their prices are low, but no thank you. It's not the right place for those that value more than subpar experiences. I had a great experience at Cedar Bluff Clinic, but the prices are definitely higher. Read Less

I have always heard great things about this place but after finally going there myself I love it. I switched to Butlers because I was unhappy with my previous vets price and overall care for my cat who has a reoccurring problem. At Butlers the prices are reasonable and the vet actually took time to examine my sick cat and listen to the problem. The cost to have my cat treated here was almost half of what my previous vet had been charging me and she's actually doing a lot better after only one visit. Read Less

Have been seeing Dr. Butler for some time now for my furbaby. He and the rest of the staff are all and more than I could ever hope for in a vet. Very caring and knowledgeable. They are not so concerned about money. The health of your pet and it's comfort is number one priority. Dr. Butler is also a straight shooter and doesn't try to talk you into unnecessary tests and procedures. I wouldn't take my baby anywhere else. Read Less

They are a little cramped inside, but it's a small building either way. We didn't have to wait long once we signed in and sat down with our cat Eli. We were only there to get Eli a check up and the man that was our doctor was wonderful with him. He was gentle and sweet with Eli and Eli actually was pretty comfortable the whole time. He didn't try to run or hide anywhere. Turns out Eli was perfectly fine and that he discovered he has an allergy to fleas that makes him pull at his hair. I really would recommend that you bring your furbabies there. They aren't expensive and they actually show care for them and they let you stay with them the whole time. I started going to doctor butlers Veterinarian Clinic back in the early 90s. Dr. Butler senior was running it back then. It was the best place to go then and it is the best place to go now. Dr. Butler jr. Has took over the practice and they running awesome Clinic. I would not take my pets anywhere else other than Doctor Butler. I love their service. They took care of my dogs for all these years and actually say my dog's life about 3 weeks ago when she swallowed a antidepressant that I dropped in the floor. Very poor business. This is possibly the most unprofessional and careless group of veterinarians I have come across. I am extremely sorry to have had my dog neutered here after all he has been through post operation. I brought him home with him whimpering in pain and passed it off as him just being operated on. Within hours his entire lower abdomen was swollen, severely bruised, and red as a beet. The incisions they made and stitched up look like he was carelessly torn apart and stitched back together. He got progressively worse throughout the night and I wound up staying up until opening hours at this clinic to take him back in. The vet that then saw him acted like this was no big deal for him to not walk, urinate, and be in this visibly poor of shape. I asked if the area should be cleaned as it was a bloody mess and she suggested running water on it and prescribed antibiotics. Once again, throughout the night he continued to get worse, and I called and asked to speak to someone but wound up talking to a veterinary technician (I believe named Erica) trying to get a referral to UT small animal. She refused to forward the call to someone that could do so and said the situation wasn't enough of an emergency for him to be taken to UT. While I was checking out at our second visit I also overheard a female veterinarian about a client that had complained in front of other people waiting to be checked in and out. I will continue to use UT and Karns Animal Clinic. I am upset that I did not read further into their poor reviews before taking him here. Read Less

I have never had an issue with this very before but I am currently very disappointed. My dog takes medication daily for itching and when I called for a refill I was told they couldn't refill it until he was seen. This information should have been given to me last month when I came in to pick up his medication. I've been told I can walk in with him but he will have to suffer until tomorrow. Normally Decent Its such a shame to us as we were long time fans of this clinic. We adopted a cat and knew something was wrong. We stopped by once to show a video of the cat having an attack to clarify it it was hairball as we were told. They didn't even look at it so we brought him in and one of the head staff dismissed us with a listen and a "he looks fine to me" and so we left discouraged and went and got a second opinion. Thank God! It was a second group that found a severe lung infection and heart murmur because they took the time to listen to us and actually watched the video we made....twice! They ran tests and we now we have a game plan. I don't fault Butler overall they are busy people but I do believe in taking a second to slow down and listen to your customers and show them they are important. We will be going elsewhere now. I took my cat to Butler yesterday to be put to sleep. It was a horrible experience. I don't remember her name but it was the female vet. She first gave my cat a shot to relax her and it made her sick. Then she says that happens a lot. Would have been nice to be told that up front if it were true. Then she poked around on her for about 20 minutes, never did find a vein and then says I should probably leave because she was going to have to put the shot directly into my cats heart and she didn't want me to have to see that. She said my cat wasn't suffering through all this but how could she know that. Her eyes were open and she was breathing. I think after a couple of tries she should have gotten another vet to stick my cat. It was the most unpeaceful and inhumane thing I have ever experienced and she got paid to do that. Our experience here was absolutely terrible. We came in to put our dog down who is diabetic and very weak and asked if they could give him the medication outside to make him more comfortable which they originally agreed to. After an hour of waiting, the vet complained about how far our dog was because the closest parking spots were taken and was not concerned in the least bit about the dog or our well being during this hard time and was only concerned how after he was dead how they would get him into the facility despite us offering to carry him in. When we were trying to reason and explain our concerns the vet just paced away wanting to get her job done. We ended up leaving and going to another vet very upset and will never come back. I was recommended to go to this vet from a neighbor. I didn't really feel that the vet I was going to cared about our dog or us really. It is a half hour trip from the house, but I gave it a try. Wow, was I impressed! My dog was sick and they told me to walk in. I was expecting a super long wait but we were seen in about 20 minutes! The vet that was assigned to us was Dr. Everett, a very sweet old man. He did all kinds of tests on my dog, gave him some shots, and prescribed an antibiotic (he'd been throwing up on and off for weeks). The medicine worked and my dog was back to normal within a couple of days. What REALLY impressed me though was that the vet told me to call after the medicine was out and give him an update. He spent a good half hour on the phone with me getting the details and detailing the next step in care for my dog. He really cared and knew what he was talking about! I will gladly take the 30-minute drive to this vet as it was the best care I have ever received (and my dog is 12 years old!)! Read Less

I have always heard good things and bad things about Butler Animal Clinic. I actually got to experience how they were first hand yesterday(September 21, 2016) afternoon. The veterinarian was not very friendly and didn't seem to believe me on my dogs issues. The office staff and vet techs are absolutely unprofessional. I wish I could give them no stars on professionalism. After our visit the vet said "I will meet you at the front desk." I walk up and no one acknowledge my presents for five minutes. Instead they were snap chatting and laughing while I am standing there trying to pay and get out of the office. Finally, the vet walks up and a lady(JDL) is what was on my invoice checks me out. I get home and realize they have my dogs DOB wrong on the invoice. It's not that big of a deal, but it's the little mistakes that make you realize that although they are cheaper, you get what you pay for and unfortunately, I got an unpleasant visit and will not return. If you hate your animal take them here! Took my dog in because he was throwing up. They did a x-ray and they said he was clogged in his intestines. So of course we listen to the "vet" and say do what you have to do. After 2 days & $700 we pick him up. He was split wide open and everything taken out. Guess what it was? All he needed was a weeks worth of antibiotics, it was just an INFECTION! I talked to at least 4 other vets and they could NOT believe they didn't do blood work first! Just a simple blood test would have shown the infection and a week on antibiotics would have fixed him right up. I called the owner and he refused to help us any on there mistake. This place is very old school and dirty. Few months before got him fixed and they cut into a nerve. My poor dog couldn't lay down all night just crying. My dog hasn't been the same since... I can not tell you enough how much I recommend this location for all your pets needs. I have seen 3 vets there, Dr. Mike, Dr Butler, and Dr. Elliott (think that was his name) who teaches at UT and does surgery at this office as well. My daughter accidentally dropped our schnauzer hurting his leg bad, the diagnose was a rare injury. THEY TOOK him from my HANDS in the parking lot and carried him themselves as they were waiting on me to bring him in for it was an EMERGENCY.....Dr. Elliott did the surgery and did an awesome job.I was so upset, I locked my keys in the car, and they even helped me with that when they did not have too!!!!!... These doctor's really care for the animals and the owners!!!, I live in Strawberry Plains, and gladly make the drive, they are worth it. The only problems I have ever had was with a new student/doctor, and it was not bad, he just did not prescribe a strong enough antibiotic to take care of the problem, I was not charged for the recheck!!! They're prices are very reasonable, and I find that very comforting considering that savings means you can take better care of your animals, and have more regular check-up. I love this office, doctors and staff as well. You could not ask for a better all around facility for the care of your Animal period. A 5 Star establishment hands down..... Read Less

Our puppy, Leia, is a 9-month-old beagle and among many things, is she is a champion explorer. This is the trait that gets her into trouble... A little over a week ago, she got into some Gorilla Glue and long story short, had to have surgery to have the glob of softball sized foam removed from her stomach. Butler Animal Clinic did an AMAZING job, took great care of her, kept her for two nights to make sure that she was going to be ok. They were very professional, treated us and our puppy with upmost respect and kindness. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a four legged family member in need of medical attention. The most amazing thing was the price. For the surgery, room-and-board, and the medication, I was charged CONSIDERABLY less than any other vet I had spoken with. Even if you don't live close to the Karns area, it is definitely worth the drive to get your furry friends over to see them. We will be back for sure!
