She gave us some medicine to try for our other cat to help mellow him out for his visit. It worked wonders and the cat was stress free and got his first good exam in 4 years! She was so gentle with him and answered all our questions. Cedar Bluff Animal Hospital is 5 star from the front desk to the vet asst to the vets! We LOVE this place for all those reasons!!!! Applied for a veterinary assistant/tech job there. I was called to set up an interview, with a brief conversation regarding my ability to work full-/part-time and that I had already been planning on entering graduate school in the fall. I arrived at the clinic roughly 10 minutes early, filled out the paperwork, and was kept waiting for nearly 20 minutes past my scheduled interview time. No one introduced themselves, no one was there to greet or welcome me. I was just handed a paper-based application from a surprised woman who was preoccupied with other things and told to sit down in the waiting area. The hiring manager never introduced herself when she came out to get me; she just greeted me and told me to follow her into the back where the offices are so we could have the interview in a quiet area. She re-hashed our conversation that we had had on the phone, and never gave any indication that my persona situation with school would be an issue. I was entirely willing and able to work whenever they needed me to, and it seemed like they were okay with that. When the interview was over, she led me back out to the front and said goodbye. She never mentioned anything about calling me back, and for that she never mentioned why I wasn't a viable candidate for the position. I'm assuming it's because I didn't have enough "experience", but: a) the description never said anything about needing it or any license; b) I sent in my resume. Maybe--before asking someone to come into an interview--try reading their resume and cover letter first? It would save both parties a lot of time, hassle, and frustration. I was disappointed with Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic because they seemed like such a good, friendly, welcoming business. I never felt welcomed there and they have a disappointing management staff. There isn't much to say about the regular checkups and vaccine visits, they all went well as they should. We just got a new dog and haven't lived in this area for long, so when my husbands coworker suggested CBAC, we thought we'd give it a try. I'm so happy we did! Clean, nice atmosphere and the vets and assistants really care! At the time we got our dog, CBAC was running an AMAZING microchip special and so we had to stop in for that. It was easy and took less than 15 minutes. We also were worried that our new dog might have colitis, and the vet gave us wonderful diet recommendations, meds to help his digestive system and answered questions my husband (first time dog owner) had. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Dr. Whitmire at Cedar Bluff Animal Hospital! She has always taken excellent care of my animals. We have been there for everything from shots to our pet chewing a remote and swallowing a battery, BUT,,,the prices are through the roof. When calling around I found Dr. Butler to be about $100 less than Cedar Bluff for general shots, annual check-up, worming (heart and fecal). With the the economy the way it is, I cant afford to spend that kind of money, so I have transferred everything to Dr. Butler. To be an excellent clinic, they need to have great vets (which they do), but also look out for the consumers and not price gouge!! Read Less

They handled my buddy with love and care as if he was their own. let me start out by saying that my pet family had been long time clients of CBAC. More than 14 years. But after several bad calls by the vets there we have switched. the first was i took a puppy there for his first check up and CBAC had 2 parvo puppies in their hospital and did not advise us to reschedule or come back another day. consequently our new 6 week old pup contracted parvo from there and had to spend several days in the hospital. a very traumatic experience for my entire family. and yes they did charge me for the treatment of the parvo. second bad call was this past holiday, i took a dog there with a tummy ache. long story short they performed emergency, unnecessary surgery on him which cost my family over $1400 and my poor dog was in pain and discomfort for weeks from the surgery. after these experiences we have found a new vet clinic. i think all the personnel there are sweet but i do not have any confidence in their ability to make good decisions on my pets healthcare needs.perhaps they are good just for routine care Read Less

It is a great vet hospital and in the past 2 years they have been treating my dogs I have always felt they were fair priced.Like it or not it is expensive to have pets. I have always gotten the information needed-even if the vet had to call me personally at home. They often throw in free boarding nights and even gave one of my dogs a free teeth cleaning during a surgery since we discussed it but at the time they were unable to know if they could fit it in or not. They also did not get angry when I told them that due to money I take my dogs to a low cost shot clinic and buy my flea meds/ heartworm through another source. I recently took my Lhasa to Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic because he was having difficulty urinating. They did an x-ray and told me he had bladder stones. They proceeded to tell me that he would die if they didn't operate immediately. They described a surgery that would cost around $800, more if they had to send him to UT. I asked if there was any other option to which they responded yes...to push the stones back into his bladder so he could urinate again. They told me it would cost $250. When I picked my dog up the next morning, the procedure was a success but they charged me $404. They wouldn't allow payments and didn't give me any additional information about his condition, prevention or possibility of re-occurance. One month later, he was having the same problem. I took him to another Vet on Oak Ridge Hwy, in Karns. They not only performed the surgery to remove the stones, but gave me ALL the information about his condition and how to keep it from re-occuring with follow-up appointments. They also charged me $360 dollars for the ENTIRE surgery, visit and medication. I feel like I was taken advantage of at Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic and grossly over charged. They may be competent but I will never take my pet back again. I just read the review below mine....the same problem with the same outrageous cost! I used to go to Cedar Bluff animal Hospital. I took my Schnauzer to Cedar Bluff because she had to uninate all the time and noticed the urine was red. I found out she had Bladder Stones and she would need surgery to have them removed. The price for this and also having her spade was going to be $875.00. I would also have to wait 2.5 weeks to get her in for the surgery. I could not believe it would cost this much. A friend of mine mentioned I should call Butler Animal Clinic because the prices were much better. I called and they said to bring my dog in anytime and they would take a look at her. I took her in with the records from Cedar Bluff the next day, after looking at the records the vet gave me an estimate for the same proceedures as well as catching her up on her shots and antibiotics she would need to be on after the surgery. This estimate much to my surprise was only $340.00. This was a savings of $535.00. In addition to this they said to bring her in the next morning for the proceedures, no waiting. I was beside myself and so thankful for them. Oh yeah, they did not even charge me for the visit that day to have her looked at. The only difference I could find with Cedar Bluff was that they offered bottled water and coffee in the waiting room. With a $535.00 savings I can buy water and coffee for a year. When I went into Cedar Bluff to get the rest of my dogs records I asked why the cost was so much higher. The gal was kinda snide and said ""it just depends on where you go"" . Well I guess it does and they just lost a customer with 2 dogs and with friends who have numerous pets. Read Less

Residents of Knoxville who manage hectic schedules depend on Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic to deliver consistent and convenient services—its care routines prove effective throughout Tennessee's diverse real-world conditions. Initial veterinary visits typically examine minor alterations such as reduced walking energy excessive licking diminished appetite and behavioral changes. Veterinarians initiate their examination process by conducting an extensive physical checkup which involves assessing dental health, mobility, skin condition, coat appearance, heart and lung function, eye clarity, and abdominal area through palpation. Each observation is presented to clients while they have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the process to guarantee they understand the findings and next steps. Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic provides vaccine scheduling along with parasite defense and diagnostics while also offering dental cleanings aging pet programs and nutritional evaluations. The plans adjust based on each client's unique schedule and their pet's habits including scenarios where clients remain home all day, travel frequently, juggle multiple pet needs, or provide care for senior pets. The clinic guarantees that pet owners comprehend the reasons behind staged care as well as the adaptable elements and optimal practices suited to their distinct environments. Post-visit, families obtain both digital and printed summaries that include recheck calendars along with medication instructions and wellness benchmarks. A bewildering array of online tools now offers next appointment alerts alongside refill prompts and mobile symptom tracking to ease follow-up processes while minimizing patient stress. Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic delivers a veterinary experience marked by comfort and reliability across its Knoxville and Tennessee locations—ensuring family growth while maintaining pet vitality through the years.

Butler. let me start out by saying that my pet family had been long time clients of CBAC.

Read Less
