I love this vet. The staff are always friendly and welcoming to my dogs. One of my dogs has bad anxiety and they always accommodate her. They let me stay with her through out the exams and vaccinations. The cost has always seemed fair too. Read Less

This is not my regular vet, but I was recently very happy with their treatment. I had an emergency with my cat--I brought her home after a surgery, and she got her mouth stuck to her staples before I could buy her a cone. My regular vet had just closed, so I called Fountain City Animal Hospital because they were the closest place still open. They told me to bring my cat in, they met me at the door to take her back and fix her up, and they gave me updates to keep me comforted while I was more than a little panicky in the waiting room. I was expecting an massive bill for an emergency visit, but rather than charging an arm and a leg, I only had to pay for the cone they put on my cat to prevent her from getting stuck to her staples again. This has been my furry friend's vet since I got her 6 years ago.  She has always received top notch care.  The doctor's are knowledgeable and thorough in the care that they provide.  I trust them completely with their diagnosis and care.  The entire staff is friendly and always treat my fur baby like their own. Their prices are competitive and while they always give me a complete list of options and suggestions for care, they never try to oversell or up sell.  They have long hours that make it easy to get in with a work schedule.  One of my favorite things about Fountain City Animal Hospital is that they don't just treat illness in your pets.  They truly care about your pet's wellbeing.  They are insightful and pay attention just for treats and belly rubs to help ease future anxiety about coming to the vet.  They are always on their game and I really appreciate it.  In additional to the usual menu items, they also offer dental care, behavioral counseling, and acupuncture for your pet.  They do a great job grooming and their boarding prices are great. Very bad experience! In fact worst vet experience I've had in all my years of dog vetting. Found staff to be uncaring, cost list changes from back office to front, no follow up as promised...the old 'right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing' routine. And for the love of doG fix the dadgum fax machine! I heard at least 3 staff personnel AND Dr Pittman complain about poor functioning fax machine...lack of lab results two days ago due to fax not working? might I suggest you use the exorbitant fee you OVER charged me to get an updated fax! My cat was having an urgent problem so I called FCAH. They were booked but fit us in even though we were not patients here. Dr Cooper was amazing and so caring and kind. I took my dog here for a year and really wasn't impressed. The front desk staff was probably the friendliest and got better as we went. I wasn't impressed by the vets - didn't feel that they believed what I was saying or really cared for my dog at all. In addition, I feel their fees were higher than other vets. Izzy had the worst case of fleas but we had them taken care of, but the fleas had left some infected places. But the vet knew just watching to do . And she prescribed some stuff for her ears, I haven't picked them up yet will tomorrow. And pat the past due balance. These people are great! ! Read Less

My dog, Roxy swallowed some Gorilla Glue, and I immediately took her to Fountain City Animal Hospital, where the Doctor's took immediate action, and saved her life. She required immediate surgery to her stomach to remove this glue that had expanded to the size of a Nerf football. Their staff and Doctor's were very friendly and sympathetic to the situation. We love this place! We have been taking our two mixed breed dogs here since they were puppies (over 3 years) and have never had a problem. The staff are friendly and remember our dogs by name. They always pet them and give them treats. We have boarded them here as well with no problems. The vets do change so if you want only one vet to treat your animal, you might have to request that. We love meeting all the vets at the clinic though, and I feel this gives our dogs great overall care. They are quick to get you an appointment when you call and to give you any lab results you are waiting on. We have an anxious dog and they go above and beyond to make sure she doesn't become more scared or nervous. I would recommend this place to anyone! Read Less

I took my Schnauzher/Shih tzu mix to Ftn. City to get a second opinion on a cherry-eye condition. The first opinion included a surgery-only treatment. The Fountain City vet could easily have taken advantage of the first opinion, as there are two unique surgery techniques in use. Instead, I was told surgery is the last resort and given a prescription of cortisone drops. I am so appreciative of a vet clinic that does not prey on the emotion of a pet owner during a time of duress. Read Less

We have taken our pets to FCAH since 1999. We have always had the best of service with them. I have twice tried other locations due to various circumstances and always went back to FCAH. Their staff is great and the doctors are wonderful. I have two basset hounds and one is accident prone to say the least and they have always been so great with him. Their boarding is good as well.
