Governor John Sevier Animal Clinic

Knoxville, Tennessee
General Info
The appointment process at Governor John Sevier Animal Clinic in Knoxville unfolds in intricate patterns where pets have room to watch before participating. The pacing mechanism aligns with household requirements throughout Tennessee. Upon arrival pets gain the opportunity to investigate their environment. The process embraces scent-mapping alongside deliberate movements and selective engagement. The clinical team observes the animal's responses to floor texture ceiling acoustics and vertical presence. Every visit presents unique beginnings where some start with gentle palpation while others initiate through visual exams or social acclimation. Pet owners receive invitations to disclose information about their animal's preferred resting spots at home alongside its noise aversions and any changes in mealtime rhythms. Governor John Sevier Animal Clinic delivers services such as injury evaluation immune system diagnostics muscle elasticity checks sensory aversion handling and chronic illness co-management. Examination formats undergo modification in response to detected breath cycles, freeze signals, gaze breaks, or limb withdrawal. Every examination space contains equipment for immediate alteration including portable stools adjustable lighting and optional barriers to decrease visual overload. The entirety of care delivery reaches its conclusion not at the procedure's end but at the point of decompression. Pets receive a reorientation period before departure. Behavioral pacing guides instruct owners on timing for stimulus reintroduction, food and touch offerings, and recognizing signs of emotional delay or physical discomfort. Governor John Sevier Animal Clinic collaborates with Knoxville pets and those from nearby Tennessee regions to make sure every aspect of their visit including entry treatment and recovery aligns with animals' understanding of movement space and sequence.

My daughter took her 6 month old kitten to this clinic on Friday. After xrays she was told there was a gi obstruction and without a $2000 surgery that her cat would die. The money being a problem, the kitten was talen to another vet for a 2nd opinion. The xray was clear with no obstruction. No bowel movement was had to remove this obstruction. Blood work amd a barium test was given and antibiotics and Roo is home happy and healthy. I called this clinic to discuss this and was told that no further testing would have been done before continuing with surgery. So not only would this kitten undergo an unnecessary $2000 surgery...she still would have diet without antibiotics. Be aware before allowing surgery on your pet. The entire staff is fabulous. Every Vet has been kind and compassionate. A special shout out to Dr Music  who went out of her way to remove an infected, broken tooth. I had previously put my dog through surgery I thought to remove the broken tooth about 4 years ago and I should add I paid quiet handsomely to Butler's Animal Clinic. Now I find out that the jagged broken tooth has been in that poor dog's mouth festering all this time. Thank you! Thank you! They follow up on referrals and make sure you understand the plan of care for your animal. The bills are reasonable and the care conservative. An added bonus - their current groomer, Ms Weekly is the bomb. I brought her my dirty, over-grown ShihTzu and she gave me my little princess back! Read Less

This used to be the best place and the cheapest place to take your animals. However in January 2017 they decided to raise prices and in some cases even double prices. Im not sure if they got bought out or what but when I asked about the rate hike I was informed they had to match the prices of their other location in sevier county. Normally when we take our litter of pups the vet technicians aIways seem so hospitable and tell us how much the pups weight and always comment on how cute the puppies are, Not anymore it was kinda awkward and they didnt even weight the pups. I will no longer be driving past the 2 other vets on my way to this location anymore since they have raised their prices so much! Read Less

Just need to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the staff at John Sevier Vet ( Lucy Music, Sara and Bridgett) who waited for me to arrive with my Shadow on Tuesday night. The vet told me to return after six days to remove my dog's sutures. (I shouldn't have believed them, I should have googled the average healing time for stitches on a dog BEFORE returning) They told me her paw was healed. They knowingly removed her sutures when they were NOT ready to come out and they lied to my face saying she was healed. I had to take my dog to a new vet to get new sutures because her wound broke open to worse than it originally was. The new vet told me that her sutures should have been in for a minimum of 10-14 days. Gov. John Sevier Animal Clinic did not care about my pet's wellbeing. Read Less

I will never bring my dog back to this establishment. The vet knowingly removed my dog's sutures before the wound had properly healed. They removed them after 6 days and told me the wound was healed enough. I should have known better or googled it beforehand, because the animal hospital I brought my dog to afterwards for treatment told me they (Gov John Sevier Clinic) should have waited 10-14 days and the wound is now worse than originally. Gov John Sevier Animal Clinic was banking on me having to bring my dog back so they could over charge me again. They care more about a paycheck than the health of an animal. Read Less

The doctors and staff are great to work with. A few years ago they truly extended our poodles life for a couple years. We waited a while and now take our Yorkie there then we had a day old calf get a leg broke. They even nursed it back to health. Having said all that I am very disappointed in there grooming service as of today. Our Yorkie was dropped off early this morning for grooming. My wife called to check on Gidget (about 4 o'clock to find she had not been started on. Gidget is our baby and it breaks my heart to think she sat in a cage all day and still was not done. On top of that we were charged the whole amount and told we. Ould bring her back on Monday. Excuse was the groomer had booked to many pets. In my book this is inexcusable. We probably will give them one more shot but do expect an apology and better service in the future. Really depends on how they handle my complaint on Monday.Read Less

I have been to many animal clinics over the years. I have always been very pleased with the treatment of my animals here. The only complaints I have are 1) I wish the techs & Dr's would treat our pets in the actual exam room when possible (vaccines, nail trims, etc...) & that the staff were a little more friendly & outgoing. I referred my father & several other friends & family & I was given the same feed back each time that the staff seems as if they'd rather be elsewhere or nonsocial to a point. I too have noticed this (especially since Lance has been gone). I hope these few things do not deter anyone from using this establishment, because in the end you all are amazing with my fur babies & highly recommended! Read Less

I have used this vet office for two years out of convenience. I will say that they have taken good care of the issues that I had; however, you will be charged more than other places. For instance, I took my dog there for her one year shots which were $115, my friend (who owns her sister from the same litter) received the same shots at another vet for her a sister for $80. Also, they were much higher than others for spaying. They told me that I should get my flea medicine from them because 1800 pet meds sends out expired medicine (which mine has always been in date). Also, the last time that I took my dog in there, they cut her nails while she was under anesthesia, which I was not informed of before hand and I just thought they did it as a courtesy, but I saw that they did add a $9 charge on the receipt. I had cut them myself about a week prior. So, I will not give them a one star, because I think they will give good care. However, I disagree with the other review that it is not about the money for them, since they will try to tack on fees and did to me blatantly. After several experiences, some that I did not list, I would recommend utilizing a different veterinary office. Read Less

Just before 8 she had a seizure and had been nearing the end of her life due to serious illness already. I called scared and they gladly waited on our arrival. Dr Music actually called back and offered to come to my house to help. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the kindness and compassion as we lost one of our dearly beloved family members. Thank you so much for everything. Read Less

Read Less

DO NOT TAKE your pets to John Sevier Animal Clinic on JS Hwy (next to Weigels). We boarded a kitten there once only to return with the kitten exhibiting classic (aka easily diagnosed) symptoms of FIP and, even after my questioning what was wrong with him, they refused to even consider anything was wrong. Another vet hospital diagnosed him at one glance. He died an unnecessarily painful death b/c of them.RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read Less
