Usually not difficult to schedule an appointment on short notice. The whole staff is personable, unlike the one down the road on Sheffield, where I stopped going after the doctor came into the room and immediately started acting like a jerk. Do not go here they basically killed my cat. I boarded my cat for a week here because I needed someone to watch him more closely because he had kidney disease. What better place to board an animal then the vet when they have a serious condition. I picked him up a week later and noticed that he had the sniffles and looked like he was not felling well. I asked the vet about it before I took him home and they said if he didn't get better to come back in a few days. I took him home and left him with my mom while I took the dog to the park for a few hours. When I got back home my mom was crying and told me that she had thought that my cat had stopped breathing and died while she was holding him. With that being said we went to the animal er and they told me my cat was severely dehydrated and need to have I've fluids immediately. I could not belive what I was hearing. How is my cat dehydrated I just picked him up from the vet? How did the vet not know that my cat was not drinking water while he was boarded? If you never have to refill the water dish and you know the cat has kidney disease shouldn't this be a huge red flag that there is a problem? So not only did I spend money to board my cat I spent more money at the er in less then 2 hours of taking him home even when I questioned about is health. My cat never fully recovered after this instant and I had to but him down with in 6 months because he would continue to relapse every couple of months because of this. Please save your money and go somewhere else. Companion animal hospital is a great place and the staff are very caring they would even update me in the middle of the night around 10pm to let me know how my cat was doing every time he relapsed. So please consider all of your options when choosing a vet because it may be a matter of life or death in the end.Read Less

Dr. Melskog is a good veterinarian, and we were patients/clients of hers for several years. We found ourselves I understand an unusual circumstance that warranted boarding our pet rabbit for an extended period of time while our house was on the market. I had spoken with Dr. Melskog the previous year about the possibility of this situation arising, should we need to sell our home. She was very sympathetic and assured me they would help us out and give us a reduced rate for long term boarding. After 4 weeks of boarding, at $18 per day (no kidding--for a bunny! No walking or bathing required, plus we provided his food and litter!), she took off a measly 5% (again, no kidding), and it was still over $500! That's not very sympathetic for good, long time clients. At the end of month 2, I tried to talk with her about our disappointment over what we thought was an exorbitant cost for long term boarding, at that point we were going to be out over $1,000, for 2 months of rabbit boarding! Outrageous! She only, finally, offered to give us another %5 off for that second month, but then told me I probably needed to find other boarding arrangements from then on. She only wanted to tell me how expensive her costs are (which didn't even apply for our rabbit!), and how she had brought some hay and carrots from her home to give him, which I never asked for--I made it explicitly clear for them to let me know when they were low on supplies and I would bring them. So I'm suppose to say, "Gee,Dr. Melskog, please excuse my request for a more fair long term boarding fee, after all you brought him carrots!" My advice, if you need to use them, they're not bad veterinary services, just watch your pocketbook! Read Less

Sad service here. We brought our dog in for grooming. They called and said that they could not groom the dog because the dog is fighting the groomer. We return to pick up the dog and they tell us that they in fact groomed our dog. We pay and they bring out our dog, ungroomed! Killing me smalls!So there is a line of people building up behind us and they tell us they don't know how to issue a refund. They then ask us if they can check out the other customers because they can't figure out the refund! This goes on for a half hour! Finally my wife gives up and comes home in tears over the nightmare.Me, me husband drives right down and asks to speak to the head veterinarian. They put me in some room where I have to wait 20 min. No sign of the vet so I flag down a nurse. The nurse says she is familiar with the situation and we have to wait a full day for the refund. I tell her that isn't going to fly! We want our refund now as we didn't have services rendered to begin with! I ask for a cash refund since they can't figure things out. The head vet finally comes in and says for me to wait while they get it worked out with their credit company. I tell the vet, you can make this right with me right now if you just issue me a cash refund or you can continue to make this worse by dragging this on and on. She chose to drag it on!! Killing me smalls!!!So they can't get it figured out and the vet comes back and says she cannot affordable her staff to be on the phone getting this worked out and will write me a check. 10 minute later, we have the check.I heavily advise that you pursue other options if you wish to have good customer service. We have been a customer here for nearly 2 years and this one incident has ruined our experience and we will not be coming back ever again. Read Less

Dr. Sherri is wonderful! Been our vet for many years and I love her more with each year. Dr. Walker just put down one of our kitties on Friday and her care and compassion were so very much appreciated. She is a wonderful addition to Lovell Animal Hospital. The staff at Lovell Animal Hospital are caring and attentive. Dr. Sherri is great to my kitties, even my little monster who hates the vet. The prices are what I'd expect from a good vet. Not exactly cheap, but also not inflated.I've been to vets where I've felt pressured to buy services, insurance, meds, etc that seemed unnecessary. Lovell presents options and seems to trust the pet owners to make the right decisions. I trust that they'll provide the best vet service possible for my cats. Read Less
