This is a good vet hospital. They've always been fair and upfront with me and not charged me for some things they could have. I'm only withholding the 5th star because you need to rotate another member of your staff to the front desk/phone because that lady is crabby and off-putting to me almost every time I encounter her. The negative comments are nothing compared to some of the current stories we could tell you from other Memphis vets!!! Our foster IS HW positive, and it was a second opinion from Dr. Carolyn. The negative review just posted could contain many variables and yes, if HW +low, you can take a chance with the low/slow method. We discussed at length the options, as well as with our rescue, and made the choice of getting the treatment. We have been going to Park Avenue for over 20 years, trusted them with all our beloved babies. Lately, we've tried some other vets, and I can guarantee you will NEVER find a better diagnostician than Carolyn McCutchen. Won't go a anywhere else from now on. Read Less

Sub-zero rating for Park Ave Animal Hospital. They told me my bulldog had heart worms and I needed to have a very expensive treatment. Thank goodness I got a second opinion. It's five years later and she has been free and clear or any and all parasites including heart worms from birth till now. The treatment is extremely toxic and risky for any pet. Please get another opinion. The Vet there is either incompetent or down right dishonest and unethical to say the least! Read Less

They have wonderful and kind to me and my fur babies, especially with my babies who had cancer, I was always told the truth about their treatment, and they let me pay over time not all at once if I didn't have the money. The staff is great Read Less

I am very happy with the vets here. My dog was let out of my car at a gas station and was in a dogfight when I came out 2 seconds later. My regular vet at Community Pet Hospital refused to see him because I had no money. The vets at the Park Animal Hospital not only saw my dog when I didnt have money, but also gave him the antibiotics that he needed. I thank god that I stopped there to ask them to see him. It was the first time that they had ever seen me and my dog. Even though I had no money, they saw him anyway. This tells me they really do care about the animals. Now all of the dogs in my household go to this vet. These people are awesome. Read Less

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Jo and Dr. McCutcheon for years. They are wonderful vets who really care about the animals. They aren't in the business for the money, and really go above and beyond to help everyone they can. I highly recommend this vet. I would say they are the best in Memphis. They take walk-in emergency appointments from 8-9 in the mornings too which is great. They come highly recommended. Check them out. Read Less

I am VERY upset with Park Ave Animal Hospital. I have 2 cats with serious diarrhea that are destroying my home, and the female has had kittens. I spent 210 dollars to go to the vet and check the kittens and the momma cat. I was going to bring my boy cat this week because I thought they did a good job. THOUGHT. They gave me meds for the cats to take, gave me worm meds when my cats don't have worms and charged me for that (should have thought about that), told me to not give them fish cat food, no more mixing dry and wet, and a week later same problem. Let me say I understand misdiagnosis but you know I spent 210 dollars the first time and then they give me a new prescription that I don't know is for sure going to work. By the way, one of the kittens died that I brought in and they said looked great. They also tried to guilt trip me saying I should have had them on a feeding tube if it was that bad. I already feel bad I just spent a ton of money on Kitten Formula trying to bottle feed it.And BTW, they were at the vet 6 days ago. 6 DAYS ago they were healthy SUPPOSEDLY. Now my bill is up to 250 because they did not do it right the first time and a kitten died. 40 dollars for another prescription by the way.. These people are in it for the money not the pets! Both Dr.Mac and Dr. Jo are great. They've helped me keep both my dogs (one is 12 yrs, the other 3 mos) healthy and happy without destroying my budget. Both my dogs are rescues and they helped one survive heartworms and the other parvo. Check out the giant pihranna in the lobby. I never knew fish could have a personality, but this one loves people. I'm so glad I found Park Avenue Animal Hospital. The vets and the rest of the staff are terrific. I had a very sick cat last year. I had taken him to two other vets and wasted hundreds of dollars before finally taking him to Dr. Jo at Park Ave. I did have to take my cat in a couple of times, but I finally got an accurate diagnosis. The prognosis was bleak but at least I knew what was happening to my cat and I could quit shoving worthless medicines down his throat. Dr. Jo made sure I knew that the kitty didn't have very long and that nothing could be done. But I wasn't ready to have him euthanized. I took him home and kept him comfortable for as long as I could. One evening, he took a sudden turn and I had to take him to the emergency hospital on Summer to be put down. What happened the next night is what really impressed me about Dr. Jo. The emergency hospital faxed the paperwork to Park Ave and Dr. Jo called me at home (at around 8pm - well after office hours) to tell me how sorry she was. I really can't imagine my old vet doing that.OK, long sad story over. Here are the facts. There are two vets there - McCutcheon and Cochran. I really can't remember which one Dr. Jo is - I think Cochran but don't hold me to that. Either way, you will be in good hands. I have friends that have only seen the other vet and love her too. (both vets are female)They are closed on weekends so that's kind of a bummer. But I think it's worth it to work my schedule around theirs. Read Less
