When it came time to put our little rat terrier to sleep due to an inoperable tumor, Dr. Morse was kind, caring, and compassionate. He made a very sad situation a little bit easier for us.

R.I.P. old buddy. Our dog started breathing funny a few days before. We just moved back to Bartlett and went to our old vet's office (Pet Vax). They kept us waiting for almost an hour, then tried to charge nearly $400 just for chest x-rays. I knew something was extremely wrong with our dog and if we paid for the x-rays, that wouldn't give us anything left to pay for treatment. We called around for prices and found Shelby Center Hospital had the best ones. We had to drop him off because they were booked that day. I didn't want to leave him, I knew he wasn't good. But I had to work and I would only be in the way if I stayed. We got a call a few hours later informing us that our dog had passed during the examination. The doctor on the phone was in tears. She said they would hold him there if we wanted to come say goodbye. When we arrived, all the techs, staff and the doctor started crying and gave us a hug. They expressed how wonderful and sweet he was, how he made them laugh with some of his (mouthy) personality traits, which proved that they were interactive with him not just during the examination but the whole time he was there. This place isn't just in it for the money. They truly care about our animals. This was our first visit and even though it didn't end on a happy note, we couldn't have asked for a better place for him to be during his passing. He was an amazing dog and was treated as such at the Shelby Center Hospital. We will be returning for future visits with our other dogs!

I have been a customer at Shelby Center for my pets for almost 20 years. They know my dog Yogi when I call and when I bring him in. The whole staff speaks to him. When our previous dog had a stroke, they were the most caring compassionate group of people to us in a really tough situation. I utilize the grooming services, as well as boarding services and have been really happy there. I have referred others there because I know how important it is to have someone care about your pet while caring for them.

After 5 business days to resolve (my dog suffering the whole time), they finally agreed to give me a refill at 50% discount and then BANNED me from returning because they did me a "favor." I definitely have no interest in returning for that level of service and incompetence. The office manager is completely clueless as to how broken their system is!

I don't remember exactly how long my dog has been coming here, but it has been more than 5 years since we first discovered this vet. I am telling you it was truly a blessing finding this animal hospital. My dog used to be very sickly which means that we have met almost EVERY doctor that works in this hospital multiple times and each and every one of them down to the vet techs and receptionists are absolutely amazing. As many animals that come through there, I am always surprised how they are able to recognize my dogs. This vet will honestly treat your furry family members as their own. Their prices from regular visits, to grooming, and dental surgeries are very affordable. I love this place!

All of the staff members I encountered were pleasant and helpful. And even better? Their prices. I was expecting to pay way more than I did. Shelby Center is my new go to for my animals.

This is possibly the best vet service around. The staff was extremely friendly and treated are cat like a member of the family. Our cat had a very serious condition to wear his anal gland had absessed and ruptured into his rectum. We were told by our regular vet we have to see a specialist. After calling the specialist recommended by our regular vet we found out it would cost 2500 to 3000 for the operation. We contacted the Shelby Vet and they said they could do it for 1500. To make a long story short they were beyond awesome. Dr. Parker was our doctor and he was beyond helpful and kept us informed with our cats progress during his surgery. He also suggested a royal canine gastrointestinal cat food which I have to tell you well worth the money. If we ever need to take our cats for anything else serious we will drive the 1hr 15min drive to go here. Our cat is now acting like his a kitten again and feeling so much better after his surgery. I'm telling you go here and they will take care of your little part of the family.

I have been a customer for a few years here and every time I ever wanted to make an appt all I got weird vibe attitudes from the help but after last weeks visit I have come to the conclusion after several spats over the years with the help there these folks hate their jobs and have little compassion for animals...When you hear dogs and cats yelping in distress in the background its a sure sign your at the wrong vets office and there is too much of that here. When you have an appt time and your stuck with your scared pet in an 8x8 office for 42 mins past your appt time something is not right,with all the animals crying in the background I thought ,this place is a poorly run mess,I even told them "Hey I am here for a half hour already ,what gives" and the lady looked at me like I was from another country,so i waited 10 more mins......That was all I could take so I packed up my pet and left ,..I am pretty angry with these guys,they never even called me after I walked out to see why they may have had an angry customer jet out the front door ,because they don't give a hoot and guess what now neither do I.... I have a new Vet now,they like animals,go figure...Disgruntled .....

I can remember as a teenager my dog got ran over and had new pups...mom survived but dr parker to mom and pups in to watch over for couple weeks...I gained the utmost respect for his desire to help animals. Several of my family & friends have been clients and remain clients of shelby center. I have 3 dogs ive rescued and all but one have started as pups here. Unfortunately saturday I had to make the decision to lay my oldest to rest. I called the center I respected the most to do the unfortunate and was told...oh im sorry we are booked and can not help you..but if you want to make an appt for mon/tue we will be glad to help or come get some pain meds to help...a situation that would have taken 10 min of concern and compassion was blown off like no one cared. I am a big promoter of local owned businesses. I had to turn to a corporate owned vet to lay my companion to rest...this left a bad taste for shelby center hospital.. Im sorry yall have lost your desire to help animals and people in need....please do not let your business loose its original goal or mission...of helping animals (humans best friends) in need. Thx!!!!

I've been living away from Memphis for two years now, but every time I take my dogs to the vet, I can't help but think about Shelby Center Hospital. I like my vet clinic here, but they don't come close to the service, attention, and thoughtfulness of SCHFA. After one appointment with Dr. Tammy Wright, I knew I found the perfect place for my dogs and me. She took the time to get to know my puppy, gave me great recommendations of books and resources for working with my dog's behavior and for helping my dog reach his full potential. Each visit, she remembered me and my dog, and took the time to go beyond the typical vaccine and physical to spend real time examining my dog and talking to me, answering my questions, etc.I wish every vet had the bedside manner, true care and concern her patients, and experience Dr. Wright has.

Shelby Center Hospital for Animals is hands down the best vet facility I have ever been to. Our dog was diagnosed with chronic hip dysplasia and Dr. Parker is wonderful. He took the time to call me the night before our appointment to answer some questions, and as well as after to go over what happened during the appointment (as I wasn't the one that was able to take her to the appt). Their nurse, Carolyn, is awesome. Very, very kind and you immediately feel like you are family there. Between the two of them, I will never stray. They have an integrated approach, never make you feel like you are being forced into some particular treatment, and are very flexible and willing to work with you. Love them. Go here.

R.I.P. old buddy. Our dog started breathing funny a few days before. We just moved back to Bartlett and went to our old vet's office (Pet Vax). They kept us waiting for almost an hour, then tried to charge nearly $400 just for chest x-rays. I knew something was extremely wrong with our dog and if we paid for the x-rays, that wouldn't give us anything left to pay for treatment. We called around for prices and found Shelby Center Hospital had the best ones. We had to drop him off because they were booked that day. I didn't want to leave him, I knew he wasn't good. But I had to work and I would only be in the way if I stayed. We got a call a few hours later informing us that our dog had passed during the examination. The doctor on the phone was in tears. She said they would hold him there if we wanted to come say goodbye. When we arrived, all the techs, staff and the doctor started crying and gave us a hug. They expressed how wonderful and sweet he was, how he made them laugh with some of his (mouthy) personality traits, which proved that they were interactive with him not just during the examination but the whole time he was there. This place isn't just in it for the money. They truly care about our animals. This was our first visit and even though it didn't end on a happy note, we couldn't have asked for a better place for him to be during his passing. He was an amazing dog and was treated as such at the Shelby Center Hospital. We will be returning for future visits with our other dogs!

I have been a customer at Shelby Center for my pets for almost 20 years. They know my dog Yogi when I call and when I bring him in. The whole staff speaks to him. When our previous dog had a stroke, they were the most caring compassionate group of people to us in a really tough situation. I utilize the grooming services, as well as boarding services and have been really happy there. I have referred others there because I know how important it is to have someone care about your pet while caring for them.

I definitely have no interest in returning for that level of service and incompetence. The office manager is completely clueless as to how broken their system is!

I am telling you it was truly a blessing finding this animal hospital. My dog used to be very sickly which means that we have met almost EVERY doctor that works in this hospital multiple times and each and every one of them down to the vet techs and receptionists are absolutely amazing. As many animals that come through there, I am always surprised how they are able to recognize my dogs. This vet will honestly treat your furry family members as their own. Their prices from regular visits, to grooming, and dental surgeries are very affordable. I love this place!

This is possibly the best vet service around. The staff was extremely friendly and treated are cat like a member of the family. Our cat had a very serious condition to wear his anal gland had absessed and ruptured into his rectum. We were told by our regular vet we have to see a specialist. After calling the specialist recommended by our regular vet we found out it would cost 2500 to 3000 for the operation. We contacted the Shelby Vet and they said they could do it for 1500. To make a long story short they were beyond awesome. Dr. Parker was our doctor and he was beyond helpful and kept us informed with our cats progress during his surgery. He also suggested a royal canine gastrointestinal cat food which I have to tell you well worth the money. If we ever need to take our cats for anything else serious we will drive the 1hr 15min drive to go here. Our cat is now acting like his a kitten again and feeling so much better after his surgery. I'm telling you go here and they will take care of your little part of the family.

I have been a customer for a few years here and every time I ever wanted to make an appt all I got weird vibe attitudes from the help but after last weeks visit I have come to the conclusion after several spats over the years with the help there these folks hate their jobs and have little compassion for animals...When you hear dogs and cats yelping in distress in the background its a sure sign your at the wrong vets office and there is too much of that here. When you have an appt time and your stuck with your scared pet in an 8x8 office for 42 mins past your appt time something is not right,with all the animals crying in the background I thought ,this place is a poorly run mess,I even told them "Hey I am here for a half hour already ,what gives" and the lady looked at me like I was from another country,so i waited 10 more mins......That was all I could take so I packed up my pet and left ,..I am pretty angry with these guys,they never even called me after I walked out to see why they may have had an angry customer jet out the front door ,because they don't give a hoot and guess what now neither do I.... I have a new Vet now,they like animals,go figure...Disgruntled .....

I can remember as a teenager my dog got ran over and had new pups...mom survived but dr parker to mom and pups in to watch over for couple weeks...I gained the utmost respect for his desire to help animals. Several of my family & friends have been clients and remain clients of shelby center. I have 3 dogs ive rescued and all but one have started as pups here. Unfortunately saturday I had to make the decision to lay my oldest to rest. I called the center I respected the most to do the unfortunate and was told...oh im sorry we are booked and can not help you..but if you want to make an appt for mon/tue we will be glad to help or come get some pain meds to help...a situation that would have taken 10 min of concern and compassion was blown off like no one cared. I am a big promoter of local owned businesses. I had to turn to a corporate owned vet to lay my companion to rest...this left a bad taste for shelby center hospital.. Im sorry yall have lost your desire to help animals and people in need....please do not let your business loose its original goal or mission...of helping animals (humans best friends) in need. Thx!!!!

I've been living away from Memphis for two years now, but every time I take my dogs to the vet, I can't help but think about Shelby Center Hospital. I like my vet clinic here, but they don't come close to the service, attention, and thoughtfulness of SCHFA. After one appointment with Dr. Tammy Wright, I knew I found the perfect place for my dogs and me. She took the time to get to know my puppy, gave me great recommendations of books and resources for working with my dog's behavior and for helping my dog reach his full potential. Each visit, she remembered me and my dog, and took the time to go beyond the typical vaccine and physical to spend real time examining my dog and talking to me, answering my questions, etc.I wish every vet had the bedside manner, true care and concern her patients, and experience Dr. Wright has.

Shelby Center Hospital for Animals is hands down the best vet facility I have ever been to. Our dog was diagnosed with chronic hip dysplasia and Dr. Parker is wonderful. He took the time to call me the night before our appointment to answer some questions, and as well as after to go over what happened during the appointment (as I wasn't the one that was able to take her to the appt). Their nurse, Carolyn, is awesome. Very, very kind and you immediately feel like you are family there. Between the two of them, I will never stray. They have an integrated approach, never make you feel like you are being forced into some particular treatment, and are very flexible and willing to work with you. Love them. Go here.
