Where to begin to brag about this clinic... Let's start with when you walk in.  It is very clean.  When you walk-in, the waiting room is very large & there is absolutely no unpleasant odor.  You are greeted with a smile & you are put in an exam room within 3 minutes (my experience).The rooms are just as nice.  A vet tech will come to see you for the initial consultation. Shortly thereafter, the vet comes in for the examination.  I have had the pleasure of working with 3 different vets.  I cannot choose one over the other.  All are extremely honest (don't push products) & tell you the best way to treat your pet.I also use the daycare (safe place to bring your dog to play with other dogs) & boarding.  The daycare is out back & is much larger than you think.  On the hot days, they put a pool out.  As long as weather permits, you dog will have PLENTY of play time.My Australian Heeler loves to come to daycare.  Just ask & her ears perk up.  Put the leash on her & ask again, she is at the door all giddy with excitement.I love the fact the daycare uses a site for you to view your pet.  It is truly a little treat when traveling.The ENTIRE staff is absolutely wonderful.  My little dog is known there for one reason or another & she does love each person.  She recognizes who is coming to see her & she knows what is in store.When she had to be seen for something other than a physical, they give you a follow up call.  Don't know if it is their protocol or if each vet cares for their patients that much.They last little tidbit I enjoy are their hours.  They are open half a day on Saturday.  This is great for those that work.I could brag forever on this place.  Never had a bad experience & my lil companion is never afraid to go.  For me, that is most important. I am simply blown away with how easy they are to work with. I have brought my cat here several times for peeing blood due to a UTI and they always squeeze her in immediately. They will work with you on billing if you need a check to clear a little later and they are so caring towards my kitty. I am blown away at how reasonable the prices are, as well. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. On our first visit, I got my dog vaccinated at their office. Yesterday, I suddenly got a bill a MONTH after my visit for a vaccination that my dog had received. When I questioned them about the random bill they simply stated they "forgot to charge me for it". It seemed completely their mistake to me but they still made me pay it. How am I supposed to know in the future if they will suddenly remember something I should have payed for at my last visit and send me random bills. No thanks!! I was also not please with my last visit when they wanted to take my dog (who had a broken toe nail) into the back for treatment without Dr. Taylor even coming to see him or talk to me first! Thats not okay in my book. Needless to say, I will not be going back and would urge others to save themselves the trouble of trying it out! Read Less

I was visiting Memphis from out of town when my dachshund was attacked by 3 dogs. I came in as a walk-in emergency. The staff & vet were compassionate & provided EXCELLENT treatment. I was able to spend extra hours with my sweetheart. When my girl passed away, they referred me to Dixie Memorial. I didn't know services like Dixie existed for grieving pet owners. This may sound strange, but I can't express how much I appreciate the people there. We have had two animals which we took to them for a LONG time. When the time came, the people there were kind and straight with us. This was very important to me. I appreciated their honesty. It was a tough decision to put them to sleep, but the people made us feel as if we were making the best choice. Looking back, we did. They could have encouraged expensive treatment which would just fail regardless, but they were honest. These folks love animals and love to take care of them. I'm not 100% sure that their boarding facilities would be good for long-term boarding, but they offer the basic care a pet needs. I also love that I could drop my pet off in the morning, and they would work him in during the day. Read Less

Everyone that works at Walnut Grove Animal Clinic is professional, friendly, and kind. Our two dogs have totally opposite personalities, and everyone here is so great with BOTH of them. All the vets and vet techs know them by name, and are so gentle. They also don't get mad if your dogs break into a bag of t-r-e-a-t-s that happen to be for sale on a shelf in the waiting room. My wife and I just moved to the area and decided to try this clinic out since it got rave reviews.  I wasn't that impressed with Dr Breland, she didn't seem connected with us or our pets.  She was interrupted on more than one occasion by a co worker.  She finally finished the exam and we waited while she went to get us heart worm preventative and could over hear her and others laughing and making fun of a 'happy couple' in the next room and when we were leaving the "happy couple" just so happened to be a gay couple so hearing that it left a bad taste in our mouths and we would never support a business that made fun of their patrons regardless what walk of life they were.  We wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. My first visit was yesterday. My elderly chihuahua was having problems and was highly stressed.  Therefore her elderly owner was as well.  I called to see if she could be seen. They took me in 10 minutes. I had just spent $475 the previous week at another animal hospital and was not satisfied with the service . At Walnut  Grove the front desk is so kind while being friendly and professional. I like that there are three vets on staff. I am so grateful for Walnut Grove Animal care.  I so wish that we had gone there years ago. I also liked the small statue of St Francis out front.  St Francis is patron of Animals. Great place all around!! Came for one and one training with Liz. After four sessions my Abby has done a complete 180! Liz not only helps you train your pet with positive reinforcement and cues, she also teaches you how to be the best trainer you can be for your pet! She explains everything fully and is always patient. She helps me see the world from a pet's point of view. Now we started to take her to the day camp. First time ever that Abby came back to me happy and not wanting to leave a place. ( Abby is a rescue and is ultimately nervous being away from me) Not only did Liz, Katie, and Jessica supervise Abby, but they paid attention to her temperaments and habits. They provided a safe and fun environment and even sat down with me to let me know about how Abby's day went ( they give you a report card of the day too). the waiting room is clean and actually smells plesant. the reception staff are also very friendly and always ask if they give give my puppies treats to make them more comfortable. I have 3 dogs that i have brought here and no complaints. This vet was recommended to me by several friends when I was thinking of adopting a dog. I went in to ask them questions, even before I adopted, and it was clear that this was the vet for me. They answered all my questions and offered up anecdotes of their own. They put me at ease.My dog has had many health problems, chief among them, heartworms. Maybe it's because I'm in there all the time, or maybe it's because my doggy is super adorable, but the staff always knows him and recognizes me when I come in. Whoever said they don't get on a first name basis was trippin'. Everyone asks about my dog and they have a courteous schedule of follow up calls after a visit.My vet is usually Dr. Slattery, so he's my favorite, but I've had the chance to meet some others too. All the techs are great, and the front office staff is very friendly.Their boarding fees are also very reasonable. If you check in on Facebook when you're paying your bill, you can get a 5% discount! Very helpful if your pet's procedures are expensive. I'm not sure if the discount can be combined with the check-in deal on Yelp, but I am definitely going to ask the next time I'm there. I went to Walnut Grove Animal Clinic with my fearful, nervous & squirmy dog earlier for an eye exam. She was examined by Dr. Halford and his assitant.  They approached & treated her with professionalism, kindness & patience. My dog has needed sedation for exams in the past, but they were able to thoroughly (and calmly) examine her eyes and trim her nails without a sedative. After adopting my dog from rescue I setlled on Walnut Grove Animal Clinic after several friends recommended them to me. Friendly and conscientious staff. My 4 yr old Boxer has been going there for almost a year now and I've had nothing but positive experiences. I've seen 2 of the 5 vet's they have on staff (Dr. Breland and Dr. Hoefker) and they've both been great. Pricing is in line with what you would expect for just about any animal clinic and I've never felt they have tried to upsell me on any treatments, vitamins, etc. Would certainly recommend to anyone in the market for a vet.
