VCA ANIMAL CARE CLUB covers pretty much NOTHING!!! My fiancé and I have been taking our dogs here for the past year. Dr. Giselle is great....very caring. BUT, on our first visit I agreed to join the VCA Animal Care Club at the vet tech’s recommendation. I thought my dog, a lab who is somewhat accident prone, would definitely use the included visits. The cost was $55 per month, and I found out the first time she needed care for an ear infection, it doesn’t cover the vet even looking in her ear to diagnose the problem! I paid the additional exam fee at least 3 times while the staff tried to figure out if it was ear infections from swimming or allergies. Of course, the medications were also not included. It doesn’t even include bringing your dog in to get nails trimmed. I’m still not sure what it actually does cover. Now that the year contract is up, we will not be back. Read Less

VCA had the availability to take my dog in at the last minute which was great; however when I picked him up they mentioned he'd pooped on his own dog pillow, his chew rope was sopping wet, and he drank five 4-cup bowls of water immediately when we got home. These are all very concerning because 1) he is HIGHLY house trained and would never accident inside unless emergency. He's been kennelled on MANY occasions and has never done such a thing. 2) he rarely plays with his rope however I bring it for comfort purposes and I have no idea why it was drenched. 3) he slugged down water as if he hadn't had any in over 24 hours. They also "lost" the dog bowl for his food that I brought with him. I wouldn't recommend VCA unless you need somewhere with last-minute availability. Read Less

My cat was very sluggish. He stopped eating and I could tell he had a fever. VCA opened earlier than his regular vet, so I decided to take him. They ran tests. I was worried about him having Bobcat fever, but they assured me he was fine and sent us home with a a medication for inflammation and told me if he wasn't feeling better or seemed worse to call. This visit cost me about $360. The next day comes and he was way worse. I called and was placed on hold for 20 minutes. I called 3 more times with no luck. I finally called his regular vet told him the situation and he thankfully agreed to work him into his already booked day. He told me to have the blood work faxed to his office . I gave up calling and drove to VCA to ask them to fax the results, and got a copy for myself to have on hand just in case the information wasn't faxed. By this time, I have wasted an entire 24 hours on dealing with VCA and still waiting on a diagnosis. His appt at his regular vet, FINALLY,gave me answers. He actually does have Bobcat fever which is caused by a tick. I was sent home with an antibiotic and he was also given meds while at his office and more bloodwork was done. This visit cost me $185. I've been doing research on bobcat fever and I've found out The sooner you catch it and start treating it, the greater the chance of survival. I can only wonder if they had caught it, if those 24 hours would make a difference. I also wonder what it was that made the visit $360 when his regular vet did the same tests and diagnosed him, gave him meds in office and sent them home for $185. I left VCA with a medicine, one which was not helping his situation at all. It's scary when our pets get sick, we want to trust they are in good hands, but I will never again take my babies to this place. I will wait for their regular vet to open, the one who cares enough to be thorough,I only wasted time and money with VCA it got me nowhere . Read Less

I have to start with this - I am not the type to ever write reviews, but I feel like I have to write this one to warn people. I brought my 2.3 pound, 9 week old, Pomeranian pup to VCA last week to have his first vet check. When I took him, I also brought his papers and shot records. The breeder had already given him two vaccinations containing medicine to combat Parvo and various other diseases. I gave the vet all of the information I had on my pup. With that being said, the vet checked him, he looked completely healthy, and they decided to give him two more vaccinations that day. One to combat Parvo and various other diseases, and one for kennel cough. I am not a vet, so obviously I trusted their judgement. Shortly after the vaccinations, my pup started vomiting. Chalking it up to the fact that they gave him too many treats to distract him from the vaccinations, I took him and left. One the way home, he threw up again. Upon arriving home, he threw up again. At this point I am starting to panic. My puppy threw up 2 more times. My puppy was then starting to go limp. I'm bawling. I hopped in the car and headed back to VCA. I called them on the way to let them know that I was on my way - they said he is probably having an allergic reaction. I also called my mom to fill her in on what was going on, and she immediately started to do research. A simple internet search would tell you that puppies need to be vaccinated once at 8 weeks, once at 12 weeks, and once at 16 weeks. ......... shouldn't a vet know this? I think I would be vomiting and limp, too, if my 2.3 pound body had been injected with FOUR vaccines at 9 weeks old. The vet should have not even thought about giving him more vaccinations, especially since they knew his shot records!! The reason I chose to go to them was because they give you a free first vet check as a new customer. The vaccinations, however, cost, and I spent $80 on the vaccinations that HE DIDN'T NEED. And when I took him back so they could then inject him with an anti vomiting medicine (that's right folks, my 2.3 pound ball of fluff is now up to 5 shots), I paid another $30. I paid $110 in total for something that could have been avoided all together. Believe me, I can completely understand an allergic reaction, they happen. But over vaccinating (over dosing) my puppy was pure negligence. All of this to say, do your research. I could have avoided this, but I trusted the doctor to know what they were doing. This was negligent on my part. The vet was friendly as a person. Read Less

The doctors are extremely smart and patient with questions. I love bringing my pets to VCA! Every time I walk in the receptionist greet me and ask what they can do for me. Even if they are helping another client they take time to acknowledge me. I rarely have to wait past my appointment time and when I do they apologize. The technicians really know what they are doing and I trust them with my babies. The doctors are extremely smart and patient with questions. They take the time to really explain what they mean instead of throwing a bunch of complicated words at me and expect me to know what they mean. Overall the service is amazing and the building is always clean! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone! Read Less
