Nice bright open lobby with cat condo's in the far right of the lobby. No separate area for dogs vs cats which at times caused chaos when the two would meet in the lobby. The vet techs which they call nurses are very nice along with the front desk staff. We had a very sick pet and were in constant contact with the vet over the phone after several visits. I guess to save you money they let you speak to the vet tech and they would relay your message to the vet and then call you back with what the doctor said to do. Our pet to no avail was not getting better (not the doctors fault). And we felt it was time to let our pet go but the vet kept saying it wasn't time. We went with the vets decision for a few weeks and keep going to the vet and tried to turn things around, but in the end it was time to let our baby go and we made that decision against the vets advice. You know your fur baby better than anyone including a veterinarian. This is an expensive hospital in our view. Did our pet get good care? We would say yes. We can't explain why we have a bad taste in our mouths regarding this hospital. Perhaps it's because we knew a few months ago it was time to let our pet go but the vet insisted to keep going when we knew better. We contacted lap of love to come to our home and let our pet go in peace. It was a beautiful experience and the vet agreed it was time to let our pet go when she arrived at our house. So, not sure if this review helps anyone but I certainly would look at reviews before you select a veterinarian. What we learned from this experience is to find out the vets philosophy on euthanasia and how long they would extend care to your pet if you feel it's time to let them go. Anyways, we have found another animal hospital for our other pets and found their pricing is cheaper and still get good care. Read Less

I have been taking my cat to Animal Care Veterinary since 2011, when a friend recommended it. It's the best vet clinic I've been to anywhere. Everyone there is wonderful. The doctors here have been wonderful with our cats. They never rush us through our visit and they take the time to correctly test and diagnose. We used to go to another vet over near "Honest Abe Log Homes", but they are always way too busy, crowded, noisy, and rushed! Take your pet here and see the difference! This clinic is incredibly over priced. For two dogs, they pushed us to sign up for an "all inclusive" package. This all inclusive package is basically a discounted check up (discount according to their prices) and a nail trim. Purchasing insurance for our dogs is cheaper. Luckily my husband is well versed in vet clinics that are looking to make an extra buck whenever possible. Aside from that, they suggested we pull our 3 year old dogs tooth because of "decay". Of course pulling the tooth would have meant we should see a specialist. We watched this tooth over the next several days and after a few breath mint bones, the "decay" went away. I call it plaque. This one visit nearly cost $1500. By declining the package and dental specialist we escaped with only 6 months of heart worm/flea and tick meds at $800. Because of the outrageous prices we have decided to just use a vet we are familiar with that is 4 hours away in Kentucky. My pup and I were only a number for this place. I chose to go here after leaving a vet that I have routinely visited for 6 years because I needed a closer option. I was driving an hour to go to our prior vet. While here, I was told my lab had damaged/cracked teeth and needed an immediate cleaning to avoid any extractions (my prior vet always spoke highly of her teeth). I was quoted an outrageous cleaning price and I decided to hold off. She had some build up... but a simple cleaning is not going to save teeth if they are cracked. They told me she clearly had a rock eating problem... my lab has never eaten rocks. They told me the best thing for her was a full package. I wanted what was best so I decided to go ahead and do everything they had recommended trusting they wanted what was best too. $600 later, her “routine yearly check up” was complete. Granted, that included a follow up in 6 months and a nail trim every month (which I already do myself). After all that... both of our names are spelled wrong on everything I have received. I’ve let them know when I have gone back... it has never been fixed. I gave two stars because I did receive the “full package” I paid for... but did not receive any type of quality experience. They just wanted to add more to her “full package” every time I went back. I get sales are important... but I would like to be able to just come in for what I have paid for. Also, every time I went back for her “complimentary nail trim” the tech tried to charge me. I had to tell them EVERYTIME that I had made a purchase that was suppose to include complimentary nail trims... Fast forward a year later from the initial visit and I decided to go to another place for her yearly checkup. She has a few chipped teeth but nothing serious... just signs of age. A teeth cleaning was recommended but I was told it’s not urgent and her teeth actually look wonderful for her age. She had the exact same package and a much more detailed exam with the vet... $130 later I feel cared for. I don’t feel like a number or that I am being a bad parent. My second opinion was with another local vet hospital with a great reputation. I would highly recommend doing your research and not just going to this place because it is close by!! The waiting room is beautiful and their website states they have on site labs and diagnostics. I am from out of town so I should have asked around first. They charged me $105.00 for routine blood work and sent the samples to an off site lab instead of using their own lab. They could not explain why they have a lab onsite they do not use. It took 3 weeks to get the lab results. They wanted to sell me cat food instead of a prescription and gave me a referral to a vet. specialist. They could careless for my cat because by not giving me same-day lab results I would have had to pay the referral specialist for repeat lab tests. After waiting 3 weeks I went on internet purchased a non prescription ear ointment for $13.00. The morale is so poor at this vet after charging me $210.00 and providing no care for my cat, they told me I am lucky I do not have to return. We are owned by a 7 year old GSD named Ruger. Our first experience with ACVH was when he was 12 weeks old in November of 2009. Dr. Blayock and ALL his staff are the best trained, most courteous and most professional at their individual jobs than anyone else in Middle Tennessee; everyone, from the Front Desk through to the Back Door. We enroll in their Wellness program every year and over seven years later our Ruger is a happy, healthy, playful, 94lb companion with excellent Family and Social manners. I attribute most of his great health and appearance to the care, advice, and counseling we've received from Dr. Kyle Daniel. My dog is a Family member. His health care is accordingly as important as any other member so we seek the best. Others may take their 'pets' to Petco, et al, as they wish. I hope my companion outlives me. Warning to all! Here is Yogi Bear's story. Yogi our year old blue Pittie was struck by a truck when my two year old opened the door and he took off after one of his buddies. My wife was standing there and saw the whole thing and was basically terrified. Luckily the man that hit him was a descent person and was able to assist with getting him rushed to this pet ER. Unfortunately the horrors continued once my wife arrived with Yogi. They did their normal visual inspection of him and told her that his injuries were too severe for survival and if he were to survive that the cost of surgery would exceed $7,000 and that we would be expected to pay to keep him alive. Keep in mind this was their visual inspection. They mentioned they needed $800 plus just to do X-Rays-for us to determine the extent of his injuries. (All of the above to be expected for the most part) Although, they told my wife she had two options and that would be to sign him over to a rescue to assist or authorize for eauthenizaton. She was told that was all she Could do. They rushed her into making the decisions so she chose to sign him over instead of killing him. After further examination and FREE X-rays they gave to the rescue they determined his injuries to not be that severe and that he wasn't near as bad as they thought. Why could we have not been offered this?? The name of the rescue is Operation Education and they totally capitalized on funds for his surgery but unfortunately since we signed him over under the influence that he was near death and severly injured we still could not get our pup back. My warning to anyone going to this facility is take time to think about the options. We paid to keep him out of pain and comfortable but were totally mislead on the best route to take. The front desk staff are friendly and the doctors are caring, knowledgeable and professional. Over the years, they have taken care of our dog, Rusty. Sadly, it became necessary to euthanize our beloved dog. I was comforted by the doctor and her staff, and their concern for our family's feelings and our Rusty was genuine and comforting. The options were explained to us in such a caring way. On the day we said goodby to Rusty, the doctor was empathetic and spoke in loving tones to our dog. To my surprise, it was less traumatic because of their kindness and the surroundings. I pictured a stainless steel table under bright lights but it was a tranquil setting in a dimly lit room. I spent time with Rusty and stayed with him throughout. It was very respectful. Today, a florist delivered flowers from Animal Care Vet Hospital and this kind gesture touched my heart. This place is amazing! The doctors treat their patients like their own animals. They have been there for me during 3AM emergencies, difficult surgeries, when my baby girl went to the Rainbow Bridge, & now with my new puppy. When we didn't know why my 17 yr old Pug was sick last year with multiple conditions, Dr. Blaylock never gave up and never "just" prescribed meds to help the symptoms. On his own time, he researched her condition and found answers. The nurses are very knowledgable & caring. The support staff is amazing! I have been more than pleased with my experiences at Animal Care Veterinary Hospital. I have been a client for over nine years; since Ginger, one of my Yorkshire Terriers, was a puppy. They have seen me through poisonings, ingestion of about a quarter of a small pompom that was on my houseshoes, dental problems, kidney failure and the guided death of my beloved Tag just a year ago this month. He was the last in a line of Yorkies that had HI connections. We had purchased his grandmother (Duchess) there, bred her there and bred her female puppy (Tessa) when she was six and I was back home in TN. She had two male puppies, one of which was Tag. The other puppy went to the breeder who had lent me her male to breed with Tessa. Tag turned 14 the day after Christmas in 2014. We made the most difficult decision to have him put to rest on February 7, 2015, the day after my 69th birthday. He had an easy crossing over the Rainbow Bridge, thanks to the excellent attentiveness of the Doctor and staff at Animal Care. I now have two Yorkies, 9 year 4 month old Ginger and 11 months old Bonnie. I have had Tag, Ginger and Bonnie groomed at The Oasis and Ginger and Bonnie have been boarded there also. This place is AWESOME. I am overly obsessed with my puppy. I've been to multiple vets in Murfreesboro and none of them seemed to really care about him, and I hated that. I took him here and wow. The place is crazy nice and clean. And the staff there is beyond amazing. They loved on him and treated him wonderfully. I wish I could say something nice, but I can't. It took a full month to get a test result back that should have only taken a couple of days. They tried to tell us the cat had an intestinal parasite. If the cat had, it would be having bloody diarrhea. Took the cat to another doctor for a 2nd opinion, and no parasite. Also told us the cat was due for booster shots, when it wasn't due for another 11 months. Probably just a case of what could go wrong did go wrong, but I'd be careful with them. Read Less
