During medical visits, healthcare providers initiate a dialogue about patients’ routines. Those include exercise, eating habits, time spent outdoors, and any recent changes. Examinations include a thorough assessment of the eyes ears mouth abdomen skin and the animal’s walk or movements. Staff members articulate each step (or ‘what is done’) as well as any recent changes or follow-up actions required. It allows pet owners to track milestones and prepare for future steps. Banfield Pet Hospital provides vaccines, diagnostic services, and nutritional consultations while addressing allergies, parasites, weight, and dental issues. Healthcare professionals use a step-by-step approach to help clients manage the conditions at home without straining their time resources. The proposed treatment paths, which are presented to the clients, include a short-term plan, phased care, and long-term monitoring. These depend on the individual’s lifestyle and needs. The clinic sends visit summaries, refill reminders, and symptom logs to pet owners as an aid in consistent care at home. They also have shared records and repeatable appointment scheduling for households with multiple pet owners. Every plan includes expense and appointment schedule details while outlining what is expected in the next few days and weeks. Banfield Pet Hospital turns veterinarian care into a day-to-day routine for Nashville families (and those who live in nearby Tennessee areas) since this human organization explains and plans everything.

Been going to Banfield for years, 3 different locations due to moving for jobs, but had to review a recent experience. My dog needed some dental cleaning done, and she would need to go under during the process. After reading horror stories online, I was a nervous wreck and expecting the worse because that's just where my mind goes. When I dropped her off at 7AM the front desk girl reassured me not to worry and sympathized with me which made me feel a lot better and walked me through the pre-anesthetic blood work. I requested to get a call as soon as my dog woke up, and they said that is standard procedure. I got a call around noon from the doc and they said everything went fine and even walked me through what went down every step of the procedure. They even called the next day to check up on my dog. I took my cat to this office to have a dental cleaning. She has had this procedure done multiple times with no side effects due to sedation. While under she suffered severe, irreparable brain when she stopped breathing and had to have CPR done. When asked how long she was out no one seemed to know. The doctor down played the severity of the situation multiple times till it was time to take Butters home. Then highly recommended we take her an ICU. After 12 hours in ICU it was determined she would not recover from the damage and was put down. The whole situation seemed incredibly fishy that a young, healthy cat suddenly stops breathing during a routine procedure. Also, how the doctor kept trying to convince us it was not their fault. I later learned the supposed cause from a tech at the office was she was kept under sedation way to long, and not a reaction to sedation as we were originally told. Read Less

My pets have been long-term patients for the 100 Oaks Banfield and I have nothing, but the utmost respect for this team! Dr. Duran, Hubbard, and Crabtree (as well as Dr. Lawrence, before he moved to the Brentwood location) have all provided amazing preventative and sick care to our family's fur babies (cats and dogs).  My cat had several medical issues that were quickly addressed and treated for several years.  Yesterday, my cat had taken a turn for the worst and I was forced with the unfortunate decision to put him to sleep and end his medical struggles.  Though I have seen Dr. Dobson in the clinic several times, I never personally had the opportunity of having him treat my pets, until yesterday.  Dr. Dobson (as well as everyone in the office last night) was the most caring, understanding and empathetic people I have ever encountered.  Dr. Dobson and his staff really went the extra mile to ensure that everything was handled delicately, yet allowed me to spend as much time as I needed saying goodbye to my sweet boy.  I will never be able to convey how much the staff meant to me in my time of need, but I will always refer this location to anyone that needs a wonderful doctor for their baby!!  Thank you Dr. Dobson and all of the staff at 100 Oaks - You guys are AMAZING and I truly appreciate your fantastic bedside manner and general kindness! What a terrible first, and last, experience at Banfield! I was a loyal Value Vet customer with our last pet, but heard good things about Banfield. I brought my 2-month old puppy in for her first routine check up, and hoped to had found loving long-term care for our sweet girl. Despite a hefty bill, everything seemed to go fine. Only the best for your little girl, right? However, the next morning we noticed our pup had a very irritated eye. After immediately calling, the reception told us it would be an additional charge to see the doctor again?! Less than 24 hours later, and with the possibility that the vet overlooked this ailment!? Now that is TERRIBLE customer service, and something that I've never experienced anywhere else. It was glaringly obvious that this corporation is focused most on the almighty dollar, and not on the well being of its patients, or their owners. Sad. They do a good job with being personable and with your new puppy's immunizations. However, my dog is not a puppy anymore and she developed a skin condition where she constantly itches and bites and scratches. I have taken her to this location several times, and $120 later (this is JUST to see the vet- not including treatments) the condition is worse than before. I have spent another $100 or so on the medications and treatments they recommended, and nothing has worked! I do not think that I should be charged another $40 to see the vet again when I'm going for a follow-up for something they gave me that did not work. Because, inevitably, I will have to pay them for more treatment and to follow up from that appointment AGAIN, and I am a college student that does not have that kind of money sitting around. I got advice from another facility that she may need a steroid shot. I called to see how much that would cost at Banfield, and they said they would not give it to her without charging the $40 visit fee PLUS whatever the steroid shot would cost, because they "do not know what my dog's condition is," nevermind the fact that they have seen her in the office 3 times for the same condition. I guess I will just have to hope that whatever home remedies I can find will work, because my money is not being well spent here. Read Less

My dog and I had a bad experience here. She had an impacted anal gland (gross, but it happens). When I noticed the problem, I called and asked if I could bring her in the next morning. I was told I could. Kate and I showed up at 7am. A receptionist checked us in, and a nurse took Kate back to look at the gland. The nurse came back and said that Kate would need to be sedated and undergo a minor surgical procedure to empty the gland. However, the doctor wouldn't be in until 8am. He would call me with a full plan after looking at Kate. Nervously, I left Banfield and went to work. Three hours later, I still hadn't heard from the doctor. I decided to go get Kate and take her to her regular doctor, in my hometown two hours away. When I arrived at Banfield, the receptionist was very cold, borderline hostile. I asked if I needed to pay anything, and she just ignored. Finally, the nurse brought Kate out. She looked at what the receptionist was doing on her computer and said, "No, don't charge her for that. We didn't examine her or anything." Which means that Kate was just sitting in a cage, with an uncomfortable and time sensitive problem, for hours. When I finally got Kate to her regular doctor, they cleaned the gland (by hand, without sedation) in about ten minutes. Then, they gave Kate some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds and sent her home. She has recovered just fine. The only bright side of this experience is that I got out before Kate received an unnecessary sedation and surgical procedure. Read Less

I agree with some of the other reviewers. Dr. Lawrence is not very knowledgeable when it comes to pets and their well-being. I took my Corgi there about 6 months ago and he had some itching. Dr. Lawrence had the audacity to ask me why he was itching... Really? That's why I'm here... I also asked him what kind of food he recommended and he said that he doesn't know since he doesn't eat dog food... Again, REALLY?! He was completely serious with his answer. I also agree with the other reviewer saying that Betty is rude... She is extremely rude and doesn't seem to care about the customers.

She used to work in the actual PetSmart store but must have been fired there and applied to 100 oaks. VERY RUDE LADY! Read Less
