This practice has been extremely disappointing to me and my dog. When we first started using Belle Meade Animal Hospital (BMAH), we thought we’d found the perfect place. Everyone seemed to be so kind, and Dr. Robinson was very attentive. We’ve been using BMAH since April and up until this summer had been pretty happy with the service we’d received. Recently, my dog went to get a bath and his nails clipped. When I picked him up, I saw that his nails had in fact not been clipped. I called to ask about this which is when they informed me that my dog got upset and had snapped at the technicians trying to cut his nails and that the service could not be completed. First of all, I don’t understand why they wouldn’t complete the service then instead of having my dog go through that twice when he clearly is incredibly anxious. During this phone call, they also informed me that he’d had an incident with another dog. They asked me to bring him back the next day to try again. The fact that I picked him up without anyone mentioning to me that he’d had issues during his time at the vet is unacceptable, never mind the service I paid for not being completed. The next time I brought him for a bath and nail clipping, I had a work call early in the morning and was told I could bring my dog early for a 7am drop off. We arrived at 6:50 a.m. in hopes that they maybe could take him a tiny bit earlier. Not only did they not take him then, but they did not take him at 7 either. After 6 phone calls with the “after hours customer service line,” STILL no one had come out to get him. My dog was getting increasingly anxious, crying in the car (as we had been sitting in the car for more than 30 minutes at this point). Another client was in the parking lot with their dog at 7 a.m. waiting for someone to come take their dog inside as well. When no one came, they got so frustrated that they left without their dog having his appointment. Then, I saw a staff member came out taking another dog to pee and asked her to let someone know my dog had been waiting, was getting very anxious and needed to be brought inside for his appointment. She was rude and told me “We open at 7:30. Someone will be out soon,” showing no concern at all for my dog, who was cowering behind my car and crying. No apology at all. 7:30 came around and NO ONE had come outside to get my dog even though the vet was OPEN. We waited 5 more minutes before deciding to leave. Both of these incidents were incredibly frustrating and showed how little concern is shown for the animals in their care. Needless to say, we have withdrawn from BMAH and will not be returning. When I called to ask that my dog’s profile be removed from their system, the employee on the phone did not even ASK why we wouldn’t be returning. Do they just not care? I caution anyone, especially those with anxious animals, in using this vet. In fact, I highly recommend that you do not. Read Less
