The ladies at the front desk, the vet tech and the vet (I think Dr. Smith?) were so friendly and good with my dog that I decided to keep coming back for boarding and for vet services (AND it’s about 25 mins further away). They are very kind and caring. The front desk is proficient. Dr. Brockman is wonderful, she really listens to the pet owners concerns. We had been going somewhere else and we had no luck in helping my dog with her skin allergies. I took my small dog to Richland three times. Each time we went, the vet was very non-personable - when I asked questions concerning a procedure I received sarcastic responses. Also, when I asked for an estimate, I again received a sarcastic response and a very adamate “this is not a quote, only an estimate that is likely to change” - I left feeling like this vet doesn’t care about the animal and just wants money. The gentleman at the front desk is nice, but the lady at the front desk is very rude. Most times when I called no one answers. Overall vibe I get from the office is that they just want money and don’t care about treating animals with compassion and wanting loyal customers. I’ve switched to a different vet in town and receive 110% better service. Read Less

Dr Brockman and her staff have been wonderful in helping us manage some very difficult health conditions ranging from basic needs to Cushing's and Cancer. Our family loves Richland Animal Clinic. We live pretty far from the clinic but after trying a local vet for years and feeling like they didn't care about my babies, I brought my sick dog here. Dr Brockman and the staff were so sweet and really cared for my dog. Bernice (my dog) was very sick and they went into action trying to figure what was going on and treating her. I will start by saying that the Dr both of my babies had seen were very nice and good at what they do, as well as the technicians. My biggest qualm is with their receptionists. It's not that they are rude, but as the face of a business, they could do with a lot more friendliness. Will people probably still come in there out of necessity? Sure. But if I had the choice between two great doctors and one of them had a staff that barely looks up when I leave versus one that is helpful and super friendly- I'm going to the latter. We have been coming to Richland for 5 years since we came to Nashville. We always liked it and once we started seeing Dr. Knox, we loved it. She has seen us through a Rottie with bone cancer and amputation and eventual demise and an American Bulldog with three different cancers and now an intestinal problem. Richland has the MOST wonderful folks! They all provided excellent medical care and LOVED our Maverick Girl (14 1/2 yr.old dachshund) through a 5 month long journey with brain cancer. I brought my dog to Richland creek because our current vet was becoming  exorbitantly expensive. It was very clean and the people friendly. However, my experience leads me to believe they're not top-notch. Lab results took several days to complete. They said my dog had bad crystals in her urine and she needed a supplement and to be retested. She was retested and then the vet said she should brought in again because the sample was left out too long. After being tested again, they said she still had crystals and a UTI and would need a special Rx food. When I looked at the ingredient list, corn was the first ingredient and it also contained a high amount of soybean and animal byproducts. I wanted a second opinion and took my dog to a new vet. I received the lab results in minutes. He  confirmed she had an UTI but was not concerned about the level of crystals. He tested her again in a week, the UTI had cleared up, but he still did not find a concerning level of crystals. He also explained that females rarely have complications even if the crystal level is high. He also said that if that particular kind of crystal had been found in high amounts, kidney x-rays should have been completed. My dog has not had any more problems. I'm grateful Richland Creek found the UTI, but we'll be sticking with our new vet. Read Less

I have multiple senior pets so finding a great Veterinary practice was my first priority when I moved to Nashville.  I tried another practice closer to my East Nashville home but found that they weren't as full service as I needed - medications available on site, boarding, ultrasound, x-ray.  Richland has been wonderful and has met all of my expectations over the past three years.  We regularly see Dr Knox but I like and trust all of the Veterinarians and Staff at Richland and would definitely recommend them to others. Exceptional veterinary care--acupuncture and chiropractic for pets is a great, too!  They tool phenomenal care of my beloved cat the last years of his life blending allopathic and alternative modalities that helped him have the best quality of life possible. We are very happy with the Richland animal clinic.  They are the primary care veterinarians for our cat Sage.  They have been able to get in her in quick, and we haven't had any problems.  Sage is as pleased as a cat can be with their services.  We have not used the pet boarding yet just the veterinarians. Dr. Sims is really great along with the rest of the staff at Richland Animal Clinic.  Last fall I lost my 15 year old Boston to neurological disorders and a stroke.  Everyone at the clinic was very compassionate and took good care of my dog and me.  I like that they offer laser therapy and acupuncture along with prescription meds to treat their patients.  I highly recommend Richland Animal Clinic. Dr. Brockman was recommended by our regular veterinarian when we were considering acupuncture for our senior dog's arthritis and neuropathy. Although it did take some time before she came to the exam room, the care and compassion she showed toward our dog made up for it. She was very gentle when examining our dog. She explained everything she was doing and the reasons behind her recommendations. She was very thorough and thoughtful. Not only did she perform acupuncture, she also recommended inexpensive supplements and peanut butter (for the iron) to help correct some of our dog's blood values. She seems to feel that educating pet owners is very important and sent home literature about her clinic and also a longer handout about veterinary acupuncture and encouraged us to call anytime we had any questions. Overall, this was a very positive experience for us and I highly recommend Dr. Brockman's acupuncture services. Read Less

I have been using Richland Animal Clinic for 12 years and can highly recommmend them. Dr. Brockman took great care of my dogs Azzie and Ivan until their sad passings this year and last year. I now entrust my two greyhounds, Annie Rose and Raven, to her and know that they're getting outstanding medical care. Dr. Brockman ALWAYS calls me at the end of the work day to personally discuss the results of any lab work that was performed that day. And, unlike another animal clinc which will remain unnamed (hint: I live in Sylvan Park), Richland doesn't make me feel like a walking ATM machine. They have never suggested un-needed lab work or tests. Dr. brockman is a traditionally-trained vet but is very open-minded about non-traditional and holistic healing and supplements. Today, she prescribed Chinese herbs for Annie Rose who probably has some nascent arthritis. I have taken my pets to Richland for over 3 years. I wanted a more holistic approach with my dogs. I saw Dr. Brockman. I switched vets after I realized how unprofessional she is. It was always difficult to get an appointment because she is never there. When one of my dogs became ill, she suggested bloodwork. She said she would call me with the results the following morning. I never heard from her. I called twice to get them. 3 days later, she had a tech call me with the results. I had already taken my pet to another vet, Dr. Ingram in Brentwood. My girlfriend waited over 15 minutes in the lobby then 35 minutes in the room to see the vet. The vet, Dr. Brokman was in the next room over, talking about her personal life, I'm assuming with a friend/client. She finally comes in to see my pet and says sorry for the wait its been a busy morning. I don't think your personal conversions on my time is an excuse for a busy morning. I love this vet! They found a treatment that worked for a medical condition my dog had after I had taken her to other pricier vets in town with no luck. They really care about finding the right treatment for your animal, but they won't take you for a ride. I have never felt pressured to do any unnecessary treatments or buy any unnecessary products for my dog just so they can make a buck. They're always very friendly and glad to see us when we come in.
