I have been coming to Two Rivers Vet for almost 7 years. Dr. Schlabach is wonderful !! He is very caring, and really takes time with you as a pet parent, to explain exactly what's going on with your pet baby, and what needs to be done. He takes time to listen to your concerns and gives you his advice. He has been a blessing and a wonderful friend and caregiver to my pet baby. He also used modern laser surgery on her instead of a scalpel, which was FANTASTIC....no down time and no pain. I hope more vets will start doing this instead of the old fashioned way of cutting and wound healing, when possible. His wife is nice, and the rest of the staff is very caring. I would highly recommend this vet to take great care of your pet baby! Also the other lady vet there is kind and good as well. I've taken my pet to her when he was not available. We have nothing but positive experiences with them! We have taken several of our "fur babies" (as my wife calls them) to them! Them most recent experience was with one of our female long haired chihuahua's pups. He was born with his intestines out and I was going to put him down bit my wife was so upset! When I got there the staff was so friendly and the doc. Said he thought he could save him, so we gave it a try... pup that we named asher... (our Lil miracle) did so well after...gaining wait and looking so healthy! Sadly he did pass after a few days but although hurt my wife was so grateful she got those few day with him THANKS to our AMAZING vet!!!. ...Like a lady said be in another comment... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! one of the ladies in the office even offered to take him to take care of him over night because she knew with all the pups (and my wife & girls being emotional) it would be HARD on us! THAT was above and beyond her job!!! NOW that's what I call a good veteran office!!! Others opinions don't matter to me! If you can't afford to pay to take care of your "furbabies" you shouldn't have them nor do you need them!!! JUST SAYING!!! I how ever do know people do go through hard times but what's the need of bashing an awesome veteran office because you can't afford it?? NONE! THERE'S plenty othersout there! I started bringing my chihuahua here many years ago at the recommendation of a colleague. At that time, he had been diagnosed by another vet in town with an auto-immune disease, and had definitely seen better days. I felt as though he wasn't receiving the best care, and was quite frustrated. So we went to Dr. Schlabach for a look-see.While the diagnosis was correct, the approach was all wrong according to "Doc" (as us long-timers affectionately call him). He had it all turned around in no time, and my little guy frolicked again as if nothing had ever happened.Fair warning, "Doc" doesn't beat around the bush, nor does he sugar coat anything. He's incredibly matter of fact, and very technical. I love this, but his approach may not suit everyone. (You will be fussed at for having an overweight animal too!)In all these years, "Little Dog" brought some serious challenges to the staff, which include, but are certainly not limited to:- a chicken bone (that some ass threw out on the ground) which became stuck in his intestinal tract when he swallowed it whole- an attack by a Jack Russell Terrier (scary serious)- when "Big Dog" accidentally crashed into "Little Dog", spraining a tendonHe also had to undergo the surgical removal of most of his teeth, issues with oxalate crystals, blockages in the urethra, cataracts, and eventually (very sadly) kidney failure.My chihuahua had seen many good days and a number of bad, and passed away a few days after his 16th birthday. I honestly think if it weren't for the excellent care of Doc and his staff, my best friend would not have made it that far with such a great quality of life, despite all his health issues.For many years, the chihuahua and I worked as a team fostering other dogs that needed a little more TLC before they were ready for a new, forever home. Doc and his staff have always been incredibly helpful with all of our fosters too.Even though this hospital is quite the drive from my neck of the woods, I refuse to go elsewhere. Read Less

I have very difficult, high strung dogs. Even on my dogs worst days, everyone at this vet is loving and patient with them. I would definitely recommended them to anyone. I drive 35 minutes out of my way to make sure my dogs have the best care! Read Less

I took my rescue dog to Two Rivers this morning, and they were fantastic! I was running two minutes late for my appointment, and they still got me in and out in a timely manner with a minimal wait. Also, when I was scheduling my appointment, they were very accommodating and were able to fit me in the next day even though it was not an emergency. I went in for an annual check up which was very reasonably priced (~$35 I believe), and the doctor spent several extra minutes with me talking through some behavioral issues that my pup has been having, which was extremely helpful. I hope that I have a healthy pup and won't have to be there too often, but I'm glad to have found a great vet! Read Less

Highly recommend Two Rivers Vet Clinic in Donelson to any and all pet owners! We had a very sick little dog, Angel, in Kidney failure, and the folks, especially Dr. Jessica Jennings were nothing short of amazing !The care and professionalism is unmatched! We have five dogs and will not trust there care to anyone else. We transferred all of our records from our long time Vet to Two Rivers. Our little Angel is still under going treatment, as we just brought her in yesterday morning, near death. Dr. Jennings and staff took immediate action and got her stabilized and begun remedial treatment. We were encouraged to visit her, which we did. She has a way to go, but we know that she is in great hands The care and compassion for both our little girl and to us was wonderful. The facility, and staff are incredible. We feel very lucky to have found Two Rivers in our moment of utmost need. I would, without hesitation recommend them to all pet owners, I think you will find the care to be exceptional ! I am new to Nashville and my dog got a nasty gash on his leg. I took him in without an appointment and they rushed him in letting me do the paperwork while the doctor examined him. The Dr. was very calm and informative and took plenty of time to pet and reassure my dog as he was being looked at. They didn't try and push anything unnecessary on me and the bill was a lot lower than I expected, considering he had blood work, stitches, medication and stayed there all day long. At the end the Dr helped my dog into the car which was nice considering he's a big dog and was disoriented from the anesthesia. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
