The staff really care about their clients and their pets! They will go above and beyond! I've been with them for many years. When my sister's dog was diagnosed with a inoperable twisted stomach at age 14, she had to make the difficult decision of letting her go. Dr. Hinson and staff gave love and support! My family has been taking our pets to them for the last 10 years. I can tell you they are the most inconsiderate / overpriced vets I have seen in my life. They seem care more about making a dollar than the well being of your pet. When I arrived today for my appointment, 10 minutes early, to discover them already closed that was the final straw. Earlier today we took our pet duck in that had stepped on a fish hook, apparently the ducks had knocked it over and we didn't realize their was a hook in it. I am from roane county and we went to several places in my area and no one could help out duck so we went to oak ridge veterinary hospital. (we called first) Right away Ally at the desk was very helpful and Jason took my duck (Sally) back to check her out and within minutes he brought her back out and had removed the hooks. I cannot speak highly enough of The Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital & every single person working there. My pets have received the very best of care for several years. Every single person working there have consistently exemplified both professionalism and compassion. The oldest of my dogs, Coco, was over 20 years old & his time had come. They fought for his life like he was their very own beloved pet as long as they could. They then worked to relieve his symptoms so that the time I needed to accept it was his time & saw to it his last bit of time was as comfortable for him as possible. When his time finally came, my lifelong friend was made comfortable & he was sent to sleep with gentle compassion & care that his passing be as gentle as possible. We were given the time we needed to say our good byes. They then took care of having him cremated & returned to their office so we could pick him up there. A beautiful box holds his remains & we received a Certificate ensuring the remains WERE of my beloved Coco, & a truly sweet acknowledgement of his re in our family. I cannot imagine anyone or anywhere offering a higher level of compassionate professionalism during a painful time. I want everyone to know how amazing this place & the people who work there are, but even more, I want everyone there to know how very much I appreciate each & every one of you. And then there was Dr Bill Robinson and now the legacy has been passed on the the current group of caring doctors. Wednesday morning we lost our Daisy girl, she passed in her sleep. For the 8 years we have lived in Tennessee we have always brought her here and always received excellent service the staff is always friendly the will bend over backwards to help you. Even when Daisy wasn't too happy to head inside to get her toe nails cut they came outside and did it out on the sidewalk. They are all so sweet and nice there. Love Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital. My poor little dog got sick and was severely dehydrated. The doctors at ORVH took great care of her during her three day stay. They made sure she was very comfortable. She got better and within a week got sick again. I took her a second time, and they recommended changing her food. She has not had a problem since. My roommate and I took our pets, her cat and my dog, in for their first vet visit at the same time around 8:30 a.m. I called around 1:45 p.m. and was told that they were both in surgery (they were being neutered) and should be out within the hour. Five minutes later, my roommate received a phone call from the doctor, who told her that our cat was having difficulty breathing and so they put him on a respirator. They waited until he was breathing fine and took him off. He was having difficulty again and so they put him back on the machine. For some reason, nobody checked the machine a second time. The vet said she couldn't tell me what had went wrong other than the fact that the machine had a bag on it that was filling up with air but wasn't supposed to. I was irate. I had literally just been informed five to ten minutes prior that both of our pets were in surgery and would be out soon. When I inquired about my dog, however, they told me he wasn't even in surgery yet, and I could come pick him up if I wanted to (of course I did, immediately). I'm not sure what happened because the vet doesn't, but honestly I feel like they didn't do enough for him, that they should have been prepared, and that none of this should have happened for a simple castration. You people do this procedure to dogs and cats alike several times a week, at least. I would not recommend going to this office as they do NOT have your pets best interest in mind. Sure the staff was nice and helpful but at the end of the day, our cat is dead because they didn't bother to follow proper procedure and safety checks by making sure the machine was safe to use before hooking our little boy up to it. He was still a kitten, and now he is gone. What are you going to do to make it better, Dr. Novinger?? Your staff nor yourself offered me any kind of condolences nor compensation for the life of my pet. All you wanted to know was if I was going to take the body. YOU ARE A DOCTOR! YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO ENTRUST THE LIVES OF THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS INTO YOUR HANDS! And you disobeyed our trust by letting our cat die because your staff was too incompetent to make sure the machine was in proper order. Thank GOD my dog was not in surgery at that time. You should be ashamed of yourself.Read Less
