I've taken my dog to Applebrook for years and have always been happy. I recently brought my senior dog in for his wellness checkup. A few hours after we came home my dog seemed to be in pain from his shot and the exam of his bad knee. They got him back in and checked him out thoroughly. Excellent experiences at Applebrook. I have been taking my Golden Retriever here for about four years now, and I have been very impressed with the level of care offered by Dr. Primm and all the techs. They were very supportive and helpful during a serious diagnosis, getting my dog on a prescription diet that has totally managed his health, and they communicated well during a referral to RIVER for an emergency. Very friendly staff. Very informative and direct with answers. My office visit was perfect. I was, however, disappointed the next day regarding receiving lab results on my dog. I never received a call so I had to call them before closing to get the results. When I did, the front receptionist read the doctors report to me. I had questions and was put on hold while he asked her. The results were devastation and terminal and I feel that a phone call from the vet personally would have been more compassionate and appropriate. When you find out your dog has cancer, a personal conversation is warranted. I felt brushed off because it was the end of the day on a Friday. My dog Charlie had bad teeth. Dr. Primm cleaned and extracted several bad teeth and he is doing great! He is the kind of dog who likes no one but me. I was amazed at how well the "no fear" policy works! He went to the young girls like he has known them forever. I will certainly be bringing Charlie back next year. Would highly recommend. Some reviews say they are expensive, but I did some googling and for teeth extractions...she has to pay for lab work, x-rays, materials and her staff. When all is said and done. I'm new to the area and was unsure of where I wanted to find great care for my dog. I read all the great reviews for this place so I decided to try it out. Staff was excellent! Very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be it was a little pricey. My dog had to be sedated for an x-ray so they wanted her to have all her shots and a heartworm test before it was done. Guess it's good precautions but I ended up paying a pretty penny for it all. Read Less

I recently took my cat to see this vet. I had had problems with the other place in telling me what was wrong with my cat but not helping give any ideas to correct it. It was great to see a vet actually give me a way to help my cat loose weight and stop the medical problems that this was causing. Not only did they give me an antibiotic but did not recommend the expensive one the other vet gave me last time. It was like 4 times more expensive. So, not only did they save me money, they were very up front with what could be done. Very impressed and will not go back to the other place. Read Less

She treats each of my pets as if they were her own and takes the time to make sure I have a plan and understand the plan when situations arise with my fur babies. I appreciate that she has never rushed our appointments and she makes my pets feel comfortable during their visit. My dogs have gone to Applebrook for everything except shots which we do at a local vaccination clinic because it is cheaper. I called to get an appointment for my dog who was having muscle spasms. The receptionist offered me no appointment time unless it was an emergency. I emailed the vet to let her know that I was offered no appointment. She wrote me back that the receptionist claimed to have offered me an appointment the next day. I told her that was not true or I would have booked and I would be taking my business elsewhere. The vet then emailed me again saying she just realized that she had overheard and that I was offered an appointment. This was not the first time a receptionist did not communicate good customer service. I am a 30 year old woman, and a teacher. I have no reason to lie and will not patronize a place where they are in the practice of accusing clients of lying to cover their poor reception skills. Read Less
