After boarding my dogs there for 10 days, I am utterly disappointed. One of my dogs was injured under their care and not only did they not tell me, they lied to me when I called one of the many times after the incident. Very deceitful.

PAH has lost my respect and trust. Yes, they are good vets; but there is an obvious lack of communication (especially between Kennel staff, vet staff, and animal owners) coupled with a lack of professionalism and I hate that we had to see that side of them. At this point, especially considering how we’ve been treated post this incident, we will no longer continue our relationship with them as our dogs vets. I would suggest others to be weary. Read Less

This is one place that everyone should stay away from
I had been going here for just about six years
I talked about finding
I better doctor for my kids. Most people have run ins with the ower , my was with Dr Peterson , when my baby Lakia was so sick
I never was told what was going on with her
Now I bring her there to see Dr Peterson
And thee only thing she said to me was
Put a fan in froont of her , not saying why
And never ever talk to her about anything
Other than your pet if you decide to go there
And the prices are just HORRIBLE. They get you coming and going .
Your best bet is to fine another place to go !!
A lot of the people go there because of Peterson , it took me just about
SIX YEARS TO LATE HER WORDS TO ME
SHES NOT GOOD AT Surgery but she was good at her medications which I fell to
See , my poor baby was in so much pain
And they did nothing for her , she Suffered
So much , , I had asked for paper of both
My babies that passed away there and
At first theey would not give them to me
Sdo I called over there and talked tyo MANAGEMENT and She told me that
It has to be Approved by her befor your able to get them then sdhe gave me only what she wanted me to have.
Does that not sound a little fishy to you.
I HOPE YOUR ABLE TO MAKE A
GOOD Decision to bring your children here or
Some other place , Ive never wrote any thing bad about anyone untill now having parted ways with them , they lost so much money with me I have four Beautiful fur babies.
Just last year alone It was in the $ 1000.00s
that a lot of money for one place to loses
So please dont think it had anything to do with money , when I call and ask Dr Peterson
A Medical question and she tells me
Theres other doctors g o ask them .

We recently boarded our 6 month old puppy here, and we will never do it again. I will DIE before I let my dog stay here!!
So the basics about how bad this place really is...
1.) prices are way too high for the area. (This is east TN, not manhattan)
2.) they have limited payment options to go along with their high prices
3.) they will NOT take care of your animal! (how could they?? The people working here are treated with disrespect right in front of everyone by management)
4.) they will NOT feed your animal. You really have 1 job when watching an animal for someone overnight... And that is to feed that animal!!! My dog was not fed for 1 entire day over the thanksgiving time frame.
5.) Ask anyone in the area and they will tell you to drive the extra 5 miles and go to a better and more qualified vet for your animal.
In short, if you take your animal here you really are an idiot and just did not do your research like we didn't, and now we are regretting it. I work my butt off for my money and the fact that I gave my hard earned money to this place, still haunts me. Save yourself the time and trouble and just go to butler. Powell animal hospital is a failing hospital and they will charge you for every penny you have and only do half the work and kill your animal( or not feed them in the process) Read Less

I have taken five of my pets to Powell Animal Hospital over ten years time. I feel that my pets have received excellent care there. They have always been available to me for appointments when I am concerned, even with very little notice. I have always been able to promptly reach a doctor on call with emergency questions when I have needed to do so. My pets have all had surgery there on several occasions, and I feel that their surgeons are very reputable and appear to have a good reputation with other vets in the area and at UT Veterinary hospital. If a given vet does not feel he or she is skilled with a procedure they will defer to one who is. The one time that I had a bad experience ( I felt I that my concerns were treated cursorily by another provider there), I complained to one of the front staff and much to my surprise that vet called me at home, apologized, and talked to me at length about my pet's problem. I have used their boarding with no problems and good availability. They control their waiting room so that the wait is rarely excessive, and when it is there is usually an emergency going on or it is Saturday and there is only one doctor there. Their front staff actually calls to check on my animals when they are sick. I have never had this kind of service from another veterinarians office or from a human doctor's office for that matter. They are a little more expensive than some vets in the immediate area, but I am willing to pay for this kind of excellent service. Thank you Powell Animal Hospital. Read Less

Went here one time while looking for a new vet. Took dog in for Distemper vaccine. Was talked into 3 year distemper vaccine and bloodwork. They could do nothing for him because they did not know what happened. Could they have done something? WELL, they drew urine from his bladder with a needle WITHOUT ASKING ME.
