Coming to Premier was hands down the best choice I ever made when it comes to my cat's care. The team listens to us pet parents and always welcome all the information you can provide to them about your pet, without making you feel like you are rambling or they don't care. They make you feel like family! It always gives me a giggle when the team ooo's and ahhh's over my cat Precious wearing a harness and leash. My cat doesn't mind it and it saves her from being stressed in a pet carrier. It is quite cute!! I am really disgusted. I called up tonight to ask for a quote for the following. 1) Feline annual vaccination cost. 2) Feline dental exam. 3) Feline full blood panel as my cat is 14 and has not had a full blood panel in almost 3 years. 4) 1 major tooth extraction as she has visible swelling and a hole and my previous vet in San Diego told me that tooth would need to come out soon. 5) I.V fluids to acompany extractions. The woman on the phone kept interrupting me, was incredibly INCREDIBLY RUDE, refused to quote me on vaccinations, full blood tests, I.V fluids under anesthesia (she would not tell me if the dental exam itself included this) She was incredibly rude, and just wanted me to PAY FOR A QUOTE IN PERSON... I told her that it was a very standard request to ask for vaccination costs, full blood panel costs, and she kept telling me over and over again that she couldn't give me the cost of anything besides a basic dental exam. I would NEVER use a vet that behaved this way. The woman on the phone was VERY RUDE. and I even gave her another chance and said "Look, do you want my business? And me to give you money? I'm just trying to get my cat seen and her infected tooth taken care of. She is 14 and I am trying to look after her properly. I refuse to waste time getting trapped into seeing a vet who won't give prices on the phone. She was rude and I told her if she continued to be rude I would leave a bad review. I am in tears.. and I am going to call more vets until I find one who has good customer service and good prices.. I wanted to share my wife and I’s experience with Premier Vet in Smyrna. We have a 9 month old Persian named Maddie with an eye condition. We recently took her about three weeks ago to be treated and all went well. They gave us meds, got her fixed up, and I paid our bill. This weekend, we noticed her eye had gotten a lot worse. So I called to make an appointment again only to be informed we still owed what we initially paid and it must be paid in cash by a very snooty and rude woman named Carrie. When I asked about this, I was accused of using a stolen credit card and was straight up told, “because we can’t trust you”. My wife and I had our credit card stolen two weeks ago and filed a fraud claim and the bank apparently flagged the charge as fraud for the vet. Even with my entire name on the card, my signature, and a receipt showing my whole name on the card, we are still refused service. We were told that cash but be paid up front for any further appointments. When I asked for records, we are being refused though as well. This woman, Carrie, blatantly accused us of stealing our own credit card y’all. She even stated she would inform any vet that calls for records of the matter thus making it impossible to get our cat treated and now with the potential to go blind. We have been going here for six years now. Brought our dogs, heck, they even sent us a card when we had to put my son’s puppy down last summer. Amazing service and friendly staff. Recently got my 11yr old cat back (he was taken from me). Unfortunately he had been malnourished and not cared for. His 3rd eye lid ruptured and was now blind in his right eye with a severe infection in the let. The staff immediately saw him (no appointment) and recommended surgery. Surgery was completed that same day. All checkups and post care were included in the surgery cost. It's been about 4wks since surgery and everything has gone splendid. Recently brought my two senior dogs to this clinic suspecting heart problems and more intensive, frequent care being needed. I was so impressed with the time Dr Walker took to explain exactly what he saw, all of my options and ways to save money on meds. He was honest about possible outcomes which I very much appreciated. My concerns were heard and I felt prepared for the road ahead. Of course it is also nice to have reasonable fees! Unlike some other vets, there was no unnecessary or over the top testing or treatment. In short, I'm so glad to have a great vet nearby who I can trust completely to treat my pups. The doctors are awesome and there's someone at the front desk that has been there for a while and she's pretty good. The rest of the staff are beyond incompetent. We had one tech dig in my dog's leg for almost a minute looking for a vein with the needle inside his leg. Now, I've never been to vet school, but I'm pretty sure that's not how you do it. We've had several instances where the person at the front just didn't check us in in the system and we sat there like idiots (again, the girl that's been there for a while has never been an issue). Then, we paid for the "Premier Pets" thing where they clip your dogs' nails for free. They clipped 3 of my dogs paws and said "Oh I'm sorry, he wouldn't let us get the 4th one. Here's your dog back." I'm sorry, but I didn't pay for 3/4 of a nail trim, lady. Do your job. We'll probably still see the vet, because they are so close and they're attached to the boarding place. However, the techs aren't allowed to touch my furry kids with needles anymore. Read Less

Our senior cat was suffering from skin issues and fur loss. Being an indoor cat, I'm embarrassed to say he hadn't been to the vet in years. I wasn't sure how he would handle going to the vet. They were so kind and gentle with him, I was so impressed. They even offered to clip his nails for me, something that usually takes 2 people, a beach towel and Band-Aids when we do it on a monthly basis! It took them all of 5 minutes. The price was very reasonable (under $100) and that included a steroid shot and flea prevention medication (they told me the price up front and applied no pressure to get extra tests). We were able to get an appointment within a day or so and we only waited about 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend this office and continue to use them for all our pets' needs. Read Less

I have been shopping around for a reasonable rate for my litters of puppies. I have never been so out ragged by the prices that most Veterinarian offices where charging to exam a litter of puppies. At Premier VetCare they didn't steal your money.. matter of fact they where hundreds under everyone else's prices.. The care and attention that we got was outstanding... they came out to my car and helped me with all the puppies and made sure there was a room available for us when we got inside. I had several employees working on us at once which made the visit move right along... I am very impressed with their service and love for animals... I will recommend the office in Smyrna Tennessee to all of my clients... not only are the prices reasonable, but the care and attention is awesome... He did a very thorough exam, discussed at length the situation at hand and answered the myriad of questions I had for him, and got my dog in very quickly for a much-needed surgery that had not been presented as an option by the specialist. To make a very long story short, I feel they have been honest with me, provided an excellent support system in dealing with my dog's illness and are always friendly and accommodating to boot. Premier VetCare is a wonderful vet. They have taken great care of my dog and cat, whether it was just a nail trim or annual shots. The employees always love on my pets every time we come in to make them feel welcomed and less scared. When my fiance's mother had to bring in her Great Pyrenees for hip surgery, the doctors treated her with outstanding care and even took time to visit them out at her farm for a recheck because it was easier on her pet. The front desk workers are always smiling and making conversations with the clients, and the techs are always so caring when dealing with my babies. It was recommended that Chloe have a tooth pulled as it was showing signs of receding around the gum and the dr advised removing it before the canine tooth is affected. I dropped her off and went over the paperwork with the young man. Specifically initialling for someone to call me if anything other than ONE tooth was to be pulled. I get a call around lunch stating that Chloe is awake and will be ready to pick up at 4pm. Then I was told they pulled THREE teeth. THREE. Not one. I'm sorry. But WHAT? I was in a shock and called my husband. He was told by the office staff that the initial cost of removal covers up to 3 teeth. They didn't seem to understand the issue was pulling Chloe's teeth WITHOUT my permission. I never received an apology. No "Sorry your dog doesn't have front teeth now". Nothing. We will never be returning to this clinic and will continue to spread the word to our friends and family how Premiere Vet is operating. Read Less

We recently moved from Hawaii and needed a veterinarian close to our new home. With the recent snow and a brand new puppy it was a challenge to drive. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming throughout the entire experience. Our puppy has parvo and unfortunately we purchased him with the illness. He's been in their care for the past 3 days but I've been able to visit daily and get progress phone calls twice a day.I received an estimate on the initial visit and an updated amount since he needs to remain in their care over the weekend. I cannot say enough good things about them. My chihuahua had lateral suture surgery last year and she is doing very well. I also like the senior wellness checkup they have. They literally check everything from diabetes, thyroid, cancer, etc. Everytime I come here I am extremely impressed with them also the staff is VERY friendly. Best vet in Middle Tennessee!!! As a group, the employees seem to either 1) not really know what they're doing so they have to run through a whole bunch of expensive options or 2) run through those options to rack up the bill.One thing that really bothers me is bait and switch pricing.  I had to bring my cat in for a procedure, and I called ahead to make sure I could afford it.  I was quoted a price.  When it was done and it was time to pay the bill, it was $50 more.I won't be taking any of the rest of our animals here.  Oh, also, I got a "survey" emailed to me after my visit.  It asked me to "provide my feedback".  I clicked and was asked "If you were to recommend Premier Vetcare to a friend what would you say".  Expecting there to be more questions than this, I hit "next".  There were no other questions, and no opportunity to go back to edit your comments.  Just a screen that says "A written review is the highest compliment you can give us. Please copy & paste your review to one of the sites below" and included a link to Yelp and Google.  So basically they aren't at all interested in your feedback or what they can do to make their business better.  They're interested in only your positive comments, and then only so that they can make it easier for you to post a review online.Shady. I started going to Premier Vet when I moved to La Vergne in 2008.  They took awesome care of my service dog, Nicky.  They were helpful in figuring out the proper treatments, even when it was services that they didn't provide and had to send me to specialists.  They saw Nicky through Diabetes, Blindness, (which they sent me to an opthamologist for, and he did really well) to when he got cancer at 15.  I was able to get another wonderful year with my Nicky because of the wonderful counsel and treatment we got from Dr. Jones and Dr. Hatcher.  They even helped me to work out a cancer diet for him.  When I finally lost him, Dr. Jones went so far as to find me another service dog.  I moved to AZ soon after that, but would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Premier Vet to anyone looking for compassionate care for their pets.  And if you're reading this Dr. Jones, Cali turned out to be an excellent service dog and we're having a wonderful time together.....and I was twice blessed!!  The staff is also wonderful, friendly and helpful!!  They all helped me through one of the worst times in my life with their caring and kindness and their dedication to our pets.  Thanks again for all you've done for me and my doggies!! Unfortunately, this place has very little competition in the area.  There are new young vets there whom I feel are trying to drum up business for the office and make money for them, thereby making themselves seemingly more valuable to the practice.  I take my dog in for a shoulder x-ray.  Instead of just giving her a Valium, I get talked into coming back the next day for anesthesia and a teeth cleaning.  Ok.  So, take the dog back the VERY NEXT day, and now she has an irregular heartbeat, she "might have" kidney failure, she "might have" CHF, she "could have" a reduced life span, all these things to justify running a major battery of tests.  I don't know if this is because I let slip I have insurance on my dog or what, but I felt RAPED.  This is a 7 year old dog in excellent health, urinating, eating, stooling completely normally.  They don't know who they are messing with; I'm not ignorant.  Very, very disappointed as I really liked this doc on my first visit.  Now I think I got swindled.  No one cared that I was unhappy with their service and they gladly took my $90 for a blood test they ran without my permission before the tooth cleaning and was not on the procedure estimate whatsoever.  I settled up my bill and ran like heck outta there.  Beware!!!  You DO have a right to say NO; you don't have to go along with all that if it doesn't feel right.  I would advise, if you do go here, that you at least request one of the senior doctors. I came here on a recommendation from a friend, and I was very impressed by the friendly and caring staff. The place was super clean. I trued to schedule an appointment before going in, but they told me that they don't make them after 5 PM, so I just walked in. Walk ins are low priority unless it's an emergency,  but I didn't have to wait long at all to be seen. I went on a Wednesday and there were only two other people in the lobby. Read Less
