My little Chihuahua tangled with a cat and was tore up pretty good. I was just going thru Amarillo on my way to a job. Thank god my younger brother lives in Amarillo he took us to the vet. My dog was having an allergic reaction. We came in initially with puffy eyes, red itchy skin, hives, nausea and vomiting. However, there were a total of 7 pets that went ahead of us for shots. I was a walk in. And the other 7 pets were also a walk in. I was there before the 7 walk in pets who went ahead of me. Their front desk is immediate to the waiting area so you can hear everyone who walks in saying they’re a walk in. After patiently sitting there for over 2 hours someone finally acknowledged that my dogs chart was “placed in the back of all other walk ins”. We were eventually seen. She was tested and was positive for parvo. Which, is highly contagious. After being exposed to 7 dogs that went ahead of us and 3 additional dogs that were there waiting for their appointment time I hope they didn’t acquire the parvo virus as well. It was just very frustrating acknowledging each pet walking in being seen before us. An allergic reaction is more important than a prophylactic shot. And then to find out she also had parvo. I feel that should be at the top of the triage list. It was a frustrating and long waiting experience. The vet was very kind and informative. I moved to Amarillo from Fort Worth about a year ago, and I had been to every veterinarian in town trying to find a good doctor. I wish I had known about Amarillo Veterinary Clinic a long time ago. This is my #1 Choice. I am very impressed with Doctor Love, she was thorough and didn't sugarcoat the truth. She's honest and explained everything that no other veterinarian has done. DO NOT COME TO THIS CLINIC! My pup broke his femur and had a large pin put in his leg in Oklahoma. I came to this vet to have it removed. They asked if I wanted to go ahead and have him neutered while he was under to have the pin removed so that I wouldn't have to pay for him to go under twice. I said sure that'd be great. Well apparently they took an X-ray and decided the pin wasn't ready to come out but instead of calling me they went ahead and put him under anyways to have him neutered. So I did end up paying for him to go under twice. They messed up and I paid for it. SO ANNOYING! When I called to see what the heck happened the technician said she just ASSUMED I would want to have him neutered anyway. Worst veterinary clinic I've ever been to. Won't be going back. Read Less

This veterinary does not keep an eye on your pets during the night. If you can take your pet home to watch over them after a surgery please do so. My pet had surgery and I had asked if we could take him home to watch over him during the night. They stated they would watch over him as they have a person stay at night to keep an eye out. I had also made payment arrangements with the vet before the surgery due to the surgery costing $800 of which $500 was paid upfront. They assured us that our pet would be perfectly fine and he would be feeling better after the surgery was done. Our pet had a bad habit of eating/chewing anything and everything that was on the floor. We had to keep our trash cans at a higher altitude than him so he wouldn't get in it. My husband left the rest room door open and our pet got in the trash so he had eaten toilet paper. The day after the surgery I called at 9:00am to check how he was doing and was placed on hold for almost 20 minutes. They finally told me the Vet would return my call. When the vet called me back she gave me the bad news that my dog had died during the night, she could not determine around what time because they didn't know he was dead until I called to check on him. I asked a lot of questions and they had no answers. After work I went to the veterinary clinic to pick up my pet and per the vet's instructions I was not able to take my pet home until I paid the remaining $300. I told them the arrangement was for us to pay them the following week and at that if my pet was still alive. The vet would not show her face after I caused a scene in her office and all they gave me was my dog's collar. I'm not saying they killed my dog but they handled the situation poorly. I don't think much of this place and in the end I feel like it is all a "This is just my job" environment and they don't really care about the pet's they treat. Read Less

Worst Clinic ever. Brought my dog in to test for parvo and have been here for 2 hours.! Came in at 1 and is now currently 3:21. Took them a hour just so they could test him and another hour just to take his temperature. I am currently waiting just to see what is wrong with my dog. Never ever again will I bring my dog here again. If you're looking for a good vet that's pretty quick don't come here. Read Less

I went in this Saturday to have my pup looked at. It was 11:05 and i was turned away. They take their last patient at 10:30. Closes at 12. Staff wasn't very concerned with my needs as to help me get to another Veterinary office for help. Not happy with this clinic. Read Less

The lifesaving bowel resection that Dr. Webb did on our kitty was very impressive. Dr. Webb is very compassionate and she, Dr. Love and the clinic staff provided fantastic post-op and follow-up care. Had it not been for the's doctors and the staff, we would have lost our kitty and the valuable time with our furry family member.Read Less
