I don't think it's possible to adequately thank the staff of AMC and specifically Dr. Kulage. On June 15, 2017, my Lucy was skillfully & promptly diagnosed with IMHA, an immune blood disorder that is most often fatal. Dr. Kulage immediately initiated a treatment plan including high dose immunosuppresants. She always included me in the plan and carefully explained every risk at every stage. That was over 300 days ago and my girl is officially in remission this month. She used every resource available to her and went above and beyond what I ever could have expected. Along the way, we medically boarded, had surgery to remove cancer from her paw and overcame infection after infection due to the immunosuppresants. I was at times a true basket case but the staff treated me with true kindness, empathy and yes, love. I could go on and on but I don't want to risk losing a single reader. Allow you, as the owner, to make the choice of treatment. 5. Never force you to spend thousands of dollars when they know it will not help. 6. Care about the quality of life of your loved ones. 7. This clinic neglects the animals brought in, fails to mention surgery complications, recommends unnecessary procedures, tries to cover their tracks when they know they messed up... and to top it all off? They delete any bad reviews they get, which is not fair to the people who are trying to decide where to take their pets. This review will probably be pulled as well, so I'll leave it at this. If you haven't read about poor Copper, you should. I think you'll agree that you shouldn't take your pet here under any circumstances. McKay and her daughter have always adored their fur baby and have taken the best of care of him. It's absurd that they aren't taking responsibility for what they have put this family through and portrays not only medical negligence, but poor character and lack of heart. My daughter's dog was taken here recently and because of negligence that they attempted to cover up, her best friend and family pet may die. The two other clinics he had to be taken to were both incredibly helpful but shocked by the manner in which Animal Medical Center had overlooked issues directly tied to their poor level of care. I am encouraging everyone to please look to other clinics in town for veterinary work. They've caused a great deal of grief beyond just a lack of skill, that carried over into covering up issues that may have lead to a beloved dog dying this week. Read Less

We LOVE Animal Medical Center and Dr. Harrison and the care and compassion they provide our Mastiffs. Everyone we've dealt with at AMC, from the front staff to the Techs to the Doctors have always been friendly and polite. I love that they take care of our dogs as if they were their own. We've been taking our miniature schnauzer, Molly, to Animal Medical Center in Amarillo for a number of years until it came time to put her to sleep. She was just a few days of being 15 years old after being sick for several weeks. After Dr. Culp performed a health check on her and the results of which was only prolonging her pain, I decided to make the extremely difficult decision to have her put to sleep. Dr. Culp and his wonderful assistant were so caring and gentle in helping Molly go so easy, I was greatly relieved. The pain of making that decision will haunt me for years to come but I also knew that not making the decision was only my selfishness of wanting to keep her with me longer. I loved her too much for that. I will only take my dogs to Animal Medical Center knowing that they love my animals and truly understand me as a pet owner. I am new to the Amarillo area and needed vet care for my bassets. We chose to come here and are so glad we did. My Dixie had 5 of her puppies on July 27 and started having problems due to one being stuck. We called and was taken right in. Even though she ended up having to have a c section they saved my sweet Dixie and 3 more puppies! They are an awesome group of caring professionals! I could not of asked for more excellent care then she received We will continue to have them care for our adult bassets and babies! I called in as soon as the phone lines opened for (hopefully) a same day visit. Not only did I get in same day, but I was told to bring my dog in ASAP if I was really concerned about his health. I drove there immediately and got in immediately. Every single person I encountered was friendly, empathetic, and knowledgeable. They truly cared about me and my dog.
