There seemed to be a pretty long wait but once I got back it was great. I really liked the Veterinarian and I especially liked the veterinary technicians. The staff is super knoweledgable and love your animal as much as you do. The doctors are friendly, listen to your concerns, and aren't looking to push a product. But be aware, the wait times to get seen can be long. I suggest calling ahead. You can get your name on the wait list and they can give you an approximate wait time. Read Less

The caregivers at Hope Vet Clinic truly are the best in town. Recently one of my kitties stopped eating and drinking. He became very lethargic. The vet techs gave him excellent care and pinpointed the problem quickly. The doctor confirmed the problem and prescribed a course of in-patient care. Three days later my cat was totally back to normal. I’ve been to quite a few vets around town, and some really will take you for a ride financially with their billing. If you're lucky enough to get David to work on your animal, you get a great vet that compassion towards animals and their owners and a hell of a lot of common sense of how to work on critters. The staff at Hope are amazing and took care of my sweet baby when she was so sick. Dr Faulkner and Sarah saved my pups life and they're always so so kind to both out babies. You can absolutely tell how much they love animals & I've never had to worry about my baby when she's there. And when my pup was super sick the cost was pretty high but not anywhere near what we expected and even still they are so good to work with us on payments and help us figure it out so our pups could be cared for! Our family has had multiple pets for over 50 years; Dr. Faulkner is brilliant, patient, and compassionate, and is by far the best veterinarian ever. Can't say the same for the other people who work there Be prepared for a 2-5 hour wait (the waiting room cleared out twice the last time I was there, before I was called) but Dr. Faulkner is definitely worth it for your pet. My pup Roper got hit by a car about a week ago. It was the saddest moment ever for my family and I. We rushed him to hope vet at 7:30 and got there by 8. They didn't hesitate and took him straight to the back. Their prices are reasonable and the way that they treated him was so awesome. He's adjusting well now. He's eating, not taking his medicine well, but he's taking it none the less and he's healing good. I recommend this place, because they saved him. Despite his injuries. Our friend and canine son needed serious care. We went to 2 vets before finding Hope. I was extremely trepidatious to bring him here due to the reviews but when your desperate to save your friend you'll try anything. I am so glad we made the decision to bring him here. I realized that the reviews were from so long ago. And today as my heart hurts because we lost our dog I find it important to say that Hope Clinic and Dr. Faulker truly deserve 5 stars. They tended to our boy with love and compassion. The Dr knows exactly what needs to happen and is very intentional about doing the best for your animal. Even though the cancer ran its course and there was no remedy left I thank Hope for everything they did to keep our Kobe alive. Prior to this we went to 2 different doctors -The 1st who wouldn't treat him because he was a bit of a handful. The other whose price proceeded the treatment. For anyone who feels there is no hope with their furry loved one who has cancer, we highly recommend Cyber Knife at Hope Veterinary Clinic in PA. Yes, it was a ride for us from MD on four separate occasions but it was well worth the cost and the time. Cyber Knife uses laser to get a precise accuracy on the tumor without killing surrounding tissue. Our son, Cherokee, had a large tumor on his brain stem. Before treatment he was given 30 days, after being seen by Cyber and after his treatment, he was back to a happy boy at age 13 1/2 and was with us for another 15 months. A true miracle and the joy of our lives. After a recheck in Sept 2016, his tumor had shrunk significantly. He stayed in his right mind with some steroids at times until the end. He would have been 15 in May 2017. Read Less

If you have to have surgery/operation on your animal you may consider going some where else. A operation to remove the utereous ended up with my animals guts coming out of stomach where the incison was made due to very poor job on the staples/stitches that they placed. They did work with the cost of the operation to be reasonable however when returning with the guts hanging due to the poor job they did, they wanted to try and charge DOUBLE the price that initially was paid!! Once they completed the second operation, and being rushed to pickup or they would turn the animal over. Upon returning home we discovered that the staples and stitches had been properly done, but my animals tongue had been cut in half!!!!( Never was informed of this either. ) To top it all off my animal also contracted fleas. I've been bringing my pets to David since the 90's. I have never taken them anywhere else because when you have the best, why downgrade? The people here are the nicest, most compassionate, understanding people ever. I wish I could give more than just 5 stars because when I lost a baby, they were there for me. I'm am a truck driver and my baby had some problems with his ears. They had truck parking and got me in right away. They have the friendliest staff and the Vet was great. He explained everything to me and made sure I knew how to put the medicine in his ears. Everyone there took their time with me to give him proper care. I didn't feel like a nausance. I came in when only one customer was ahead of me. The customer ahead of me was a homeless man with his dog who was apparently hit by a car going 50 miles an hour. The nurse made it a point to check out the dogs injuries first before telling the front desk clerk that he was a head of me and needed to be seen first. Which was kind of rude in the way she said it. The dog did not have a collar or a leash. The man expressed he could not pay. Then the dog was walking around all over the place. The girl who is taking my information stops in the middle of helping me to give a tour of the facilities for breeding. 20 minutes later the girl comes back and helps me after booking the couple for breeding. Then another of the front desk staff gets up to ask the vet if her sister with her pug could be seen on her account, cause apparently she can't pay either. All the while me and another man are waiting to just get shots for our dogs. I did not see one person go back and only one get checked out. So after waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes to the dot, I left. This was after I called first and asked for an appointment. Apparently it was first come first serve. After watching the most disorganized and unprofessional environment I have ever seen In a business, I would rather pay more for a vet that will give me an appointment and be out in twenty minutes. They apparently do have the best prices in town for veterinarian shots. It just comes at a cost of wasting your time, because paying customers do not get seen first. Read Less

Hope vet helped me when I was at my worst. My 4 month old puppy at the time was going on a walk with me and my neighbors we're speeding and almost hit me and hit my puppy Jethro. He broke his bone in half and I didn't have money but hope worked with me and helped me so much. We we're going to get the leg amputated but went ahead and pinned it. Now my baby is almost 9 months old and runs around like nothing happened and about to be a certified emotional support dog. I hope one day we can spread his story and help all. I have 5 furkids. 3 shelties, a chuweenie and chihuahua my oldest seltie had tumors removed last week. her back is doing good. but on her front leg since there was so little skin the skin sutured is so tight the skin is dying and cutting circulation off to the rest of the foot. Sara took her immediately taught me how to do hydro therapy, she removed some stitches to relieve the stress and pressure on the suture sight. it was burnt looking yesterday this morning it was almost all gone. I did hydro therapy and got her e-collar and she is in playpen sleeping and wound is getting air to heal and she is resting pain pills took effect and she is out. we can do this I will wrap it back up in a few minutes and repeat this evening. I love Hope Vet. My fur babies have gone to David and Sarah for years. I recently had to euthanize one of my babies .The staff as well as David and Sarah went above and beyond to make a difficult time for us as easy as possible . I have been going to Dr.Faulkner's office for over 9 years and he (they) are absolutely the best vet I have ever seen. I recommend everyone I know to them. They are amazing at helping out when you have a tight budget and can take payments also, which is the only place in town that will do that. The doctors visit is also the cheapest I have come across, which they wave most times anyways. Both my cat and dog would have died if it weren't for them! You will not find a kinder vet in Amarillo, and no one that cares for animals as much. I have seen them take in animals that have been hit by a car super fast. They do have a long wait, but it is definitely worth it. I have never heard of anyone complain of the long waits because they know they will get amazing care, and understand that it is because they are so busy with so many patients but they still takes the proper time to treat each one. I could go on, but I think you get the point. lol Read Less

I love this veterinary. I bring my 4 dogs and cat and they are just love animals. The only thing though that needs to improve A LOT is the waiting time. However, since I have an unpredictable schedule, this works for me. I generally recommend that if you want your animal to be seen, go before they open and wait in line.Read Less

So far Hope has saved two of our babies. They worked financially with us and took very good care of our babies. The wait time is a bit on the long side but when you have other veterinarians turn you down because your dying puppy is a breed they don't deal with or because you don't have $500 cash, the wait isnt a biggy!!!! Hope gave us our beloved dog back in a black trash bag. They like to sit up there all night and mutilate dogs. He was supposed to do exploratory surgery and my dog died. He always seems sickly, sniffling, and erratic. Read Less

I used to have a lot of confidence and trust in Hope Road Vet. Times in the past were plesant experiences with a friendly staff. But this time was different.  My 12 year old Dauschand had developed an extremely swollen throat and her mouth was filled with bloody saliva. I woke up the next morning and it was worse so I took her to Hope Road Vet ASAP before 8 which was opening time for them. Waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before they called us back. They pointed to a room and we went in. No one bothered to come in to check her vital signs or check her temperature or anything. A few minutes later a woman walks in and starts looking at my dog. My response was "Are you the vet?" she replied that she was and that she forgot to introduce herself. Her name was Dr. Viddera, looked like she must have just finished vet school....maybe mid 20s. She tellls me that my dog has an infected salivary gland and to wait in the waiting room while she looks at her. So I did. She returns and tells me that they need to drain her neck and keep her for a few hours. I agreed to come back to pick her up after a few hours. So I left and went to work. About 3:00 she calls me to tell me that they need to keep my dog for 3 days to continue to drain her neck. At this point I asked her what they had done and she told me that they planned to drain her neck. So basically at this point NOTHING HAD  BEEN DONE!!! I called her back and told her that I would not leave her for 3 days unattended over the weekend at their clinic and that I would pick my dog up in the morning. She told me to come no earlier than 11 that Saturday morning. I asked her if she could please check my dog's teeth as I felt it could be an abscess. She agreed and would let me know. About 8 that night she called to tell me my dog died when they started working on her. According to her she stopped breathing when they sedated her. I was devistated!! My dog was 12 but by no means was she an old dog nor a sick dog for more than that day. The Dr. repeatedly called my female dog a him over and over again when she called to give me the sad news. Then she wanted to know what I would like to do with the body. I was too upset to even think about that.   The next morning I got up and made a visit to the clinic to talk to her and get my dogs collar. After waiting for about an hour in a half full waiting room my husband gets up to ask the staff how much longer we would have to wait. The receptionist went to the back and returned with the Dr. They took us to the operating room and Dr. Viddera nervously spoke to us about my dog. I pointedly asked her why the neglected my obviously sick dog all day and her response was because they were too busy to even eat lunch!! How sad! My poor dog suffered all day in their hands. She figited when I told her that she had the responsibility to tell me that they were supposed to let me know that information so I could have taken my dog elsewhere to get the needed care for her. I am so upset! I will NEVER EVER return or recommend them to anyone. Read Less

I visited Hope Road Vet Clinic for the first (and last) time today. I have a long time vet who I always use for anything important, but Hope Rd was much closer to my house, and since it was just for vaccines I thought we would take a chance - big mistake!  I called the clinic a couple days ago to schedule an appointment to bring  in my dog for his shots.  I was told that the clinic was a walk in, and an appointment wasn't necessary.  Today my 100lb Doberman Pinscher and I arrived at the Hope Road Vet Clinic at about 2:50.  I had a bad vibe from the moment we walked in, as the "clinic dogs" who roam the area behind the counter began barking at me.  There were a lot of people in the office, so I stood at the counter for a couple of minutes while the girls sitting at the desk did their best to pretend they hadn't seen me.  Finally I cleared my throat to get their attention, and one of the girls absentmindedly told me to put my name on the sign in sheet and someone would be with me as soon as possible.  I wrote my name, and sat down.After waiting about 20 minutes, the same girl from the front desk came over and took my information and asked me to fill out a contact sheet.  I did as she asked, and I waited.  During this time, one of the "clinic dogs" who had been barking at us escaped from behind the counter and approached my dog, which made me very nervous since my dog is particular about who he has in his bubble.  I would also like to mention that the staff was VERY unfriendly. I smiled at everyone who walked past me, and I don't think even one member of the office staff bothered to make eye contact with me.At this point I realized we had been waiting well over an hour, approaching an hour and a half.  At least 3 or 4 people had been taken into the back, even though they had arrived AFTER we did - it seemed like the staff were in the business of serving their regular customers first.   The girl from the front desk walked by, and I had the intention of asking her if she knew how much longer the wait would be, but she wouldn't even look at me.  So, I did what any consumer would do, I grabbed my purse, and we left.  I drove the 25 miles to my regular veterinarian, got my dog his shots, and we were headed home all in less than the amount of time I sat at Hope Road being ignored.  Obviously the drive is worth it, I'm willing to waste gas to receive professional service. This is a difficult review to write. I'm not typically a really loyal customer, but for a while I was to Hope. They are one of the lowest priced clinics in town, and you get the sense that the staff really loves animals. There is a sense of family there that might strike some as unprofessional. I always liked it. The chiding of one of the clinic dogs, Ondine, as she went to meet the cats, seemed like home.But of course, you remember the bad experiences most and we recently went through a long one that really hurt Hope in my eyes. We found a stray cat maybe 6 months to a year back. She was tiny and starving, so we took her in just long enough to find her a good home. Any animal lovers out there should have laughed when they read that cause of course she got added to the family, like it or not. She wasn't healthy but she ate like a horse and fattened up in time. Then, the day we finally did have a potential family lined up to come meet her , she got hit by a car and had her hip shattered.My girlfriend took her to Hope and explained the situation - we don't have a lot of money, we're not particularly attached to this cat and she's always been sickly, can she be saved? Doctor gave options of putting her down, amputation, and basically rebuilding her hip. With assurances from the doc as to her general health but not necessarily her chances of walking normally, we moved ahead with the rebuilding process. Big points to the doctor who really worked with us on the price. I've seen similar surgeries cost 4000 but ours was 800 which the doctor then split with us! Very kind of him and make no mistake, definitely appreciated.She had the surgery, which went well, but she never really got better. She healed, she could walk, but she never played again, she quit eating, and she just kept getting sicker. We took her in again and again, always with the caveat that if this animal is terminal, we want to know so we can make a hard decision if we have to. We'd already proven we were not at ALL quick to jump to euthanising an animal but if she was dying why drag it out?They told us she was fine, and then the next visit told us she might have feline AIDs. Those tests came back negative as well. They were never able to give a diagnosis for what had gone wrong but then they told us they knew she'd had problems all along and would probably not make it. WHAT? WE always thought that and no one from Hope was ANYTHING other than reassuring with us. We felt very misled and betrayed at that point. This cat ended up with a miserable last few months of her life, an ever expanding growth in her abdomen that I always felt was her enlarged liver, and at the end she turned completely yellow, proving I was right. She died as a sad, emaciated little thing that we took care of till the end.I know it's not fair to slam a clinic for one bad experience, so I'm still giving them 3 stars and am even giving a cautious recommendation. This may have been a complete fluke and I loved them before it happened! But due to this experience we've moved on and won't be going back. Read Less
