I don't know what happened to my old review, I remember the clinic reached out to every place I posted to, requesting the review be taken down. I was contacted by a couple of sites to verify my story. It stayed up for awhile but I notice it's missing now. About three years ago, we brought our dog in; he was wrapped in a towel and bleeding profusely. He wouldn't be seen unless we paid over $1,000 upfront and filled out the paperwork. Understandably I was panicked and asked if I could take the dog behind the locked and coded doors to be seen while my husband took care of the paperwork and charge. They allowed me to go back. I waited for 9 minutes or so. My husband came back before the vet did. She had me place him on a table. She ruffled his fur gently with her hand. Not that I expected her to panic, but there was no sense of urgency in her methodology. I asked her was she going to save him. I told her how long I'd been waiting for someone. She said to me, "I know how long you were waiting because I was watching you on the monitor." I asked her why she was watching me instead of coming to help. She told me, "I don't have to save your dog." This AFTER charging our credit card. I explained to her that I already had one dog die in their care, which did nothing to change her heart. She walked away to another door and started entering the code to leave. My husband (who's white) begged her to please save our dog. She very nonchalantly, turned around and advised him that she would save the dog on his behalf but only if I left. I don't remember her name anymore. She was an old, white lady probably in her sixties or seventies. I believe I was told she was one of the founders of the clinic. God help you if you have to go to that clinic and your skin has melanin in it. When my other dog died at their facility, the vet told me, "Well, she had to want to live." Callous! As if I made my dog NOT want to live. I don't think this place gets audited at all. Read Less

Two days ago I had to put my sweet Molly to sleep. She had been sick for a few days and when we brought her in she was taken care of with extreme kindness. The employees were gentle and did there best to explain what surgery she would be needing and the price. We decided to perform the surgery to remove her intestinal bockage, but Dr.Johnson found too much damage. They gave me an option to continue to remove it and face the risks or put her to sleep. Molly was 9+ and the chances of her survival were slim. So I put her to sleep and the employees comforted me in my time of loss and let me have as much time with her as I needed. When it was all said and done they wrapped her up for me and we're very kind and considerate to my feelings. This is an excellent facility. found a baby kitten in the middle of the road and picked her up. She was starving and dehydrated. I've saved many strays and all are malnourished and dehydrated and I know how to treat that. But the kitten began to have white stools which I read was an emergency so we rushed her to this clinic. Everything I read said when kittens have white stools it's a sign of liver failure and we went with the intention of putting the kitten down and being humane but when we got there they said she was fine and had a respiratory infection and gave antibiotics and fluids. It was $215. But they were not honest w us. This was sat night and Monday afternoon we took her to our vet Hope. Our vet said they shouldn't have even let us take her home. She was dying of feline HIV and needed to be put down and that there was no way the vet at the animal clinic didn't know this. That she was presenting the classic signs and they told us what we wanted to hear. He said this has happened a lot and that they should have been honest w us. Instead the vet at that clinic said bc the kitten seemed to have "spunk" she wasn't worried and it wasn't anything antibiotic wouldn't help but to follow up w our vet. We would have taken the kitten home either way and fed loved and cared for the kitten and then put her down Monday. Our problem is they gave us false hope and they knew that that's what they were doing. So instead of knowing what would happen we went home and got very attached to the kitten and were expecting she would be fine and then suddenly she was gasping for air Monday and we had to rush to our vet. It was an unnecessary traumatic experience. If we would have taken the kitten home knowing she would need to be put down that would have been fine to. But they intentionally gave us false hope so Monday came out of nowhere and was very unexpected. They also didn't assess her. They just took a stool sample and said she was fine. They didn't even look at her gums even though we kept telling them they were pale and she was cold. For $215 they took a stool sample and gave us a small antibiotic and gave her one shot of fluid and lied to us. Not worth it and I will never take another animal here.Read Less

found a baby kitten in the middle of the road and picked her up.

My 6 year old cat was found covered in blood so we took her to our normal vet and found out she had heart and liver failure , the vet had her on O2 and said to bring her to the SAEC for overnight treatment . When we got to the SAEC the staff was very kind and friendly . When we went in the morning to check up on the cat they said she was doing better but when we went back to see her she wasn't doing good so we made the decision to put her to sleep , the staff was so nice and caring when my family and I were crying our eyes out. If you ever have a pet emergency go to the SAEC they will treat your animal like their own and I don't regret spending $300 trying to save my cat life. Read Less

I am so thankful for this clinic and Dr. Chase. Our dog was terminally ill, and was suffering so much more than we realized. We were seen quickly, and the lab results were back in minutes. Dr. Chase and her staff were kind and gentle, as well as patient, we were allowed all the time we needed to say goodbye to our Bosco. The fee was reasonable, and just a few days later I received a sympathy card from Dr. Chase. The death of a beloved pet is so sad on any level, but when it is handled by people who truly care about the owner and the pet, it makes it a little easier for everyone. Read Less

I don't think these people actually care about animals. It is just a business to them--nothing more, nothing less. If you love your pets, do not take them to this clinic.
