Arlington South has been our two Yorkies' "go to" place for any problems for about two years. We had lost confidence in our previous vet. To take care of Sheba's swollen dew claw, we had been sent about 20 miles away to have it evaluated. Our vet did not feel competent to do it. We had to pay about $125 for a printout of the potential cost to have that dewclaw removed. We were told it would cost well over $1,000 at a minimum. That is a lot of money for two senior citizens! I got online and found Arlington South. That was a lucky day!! I took Sheba in. Dr. Milligan had a look. She said the surgery was no big deal. She would go ahead and remove both dew claws. For less than half that estimate from the other place! The surgery went off without a hitch. We took our girl back for bandage changes a couple of times. No extra charge. Since then, Sheba, who is 12 now, developed a big problem with a back leg. It required surgery. That was handled at Arlington South, with very satisfactory results. Several incidents have occurred with Pasquale, our four-year-old. Allergies, ear infections, a perpetual full sac problem!!! We have dealt with Dr. Mason many times. The dogs love to go there. None of this stuff about hating to see the vet. We are enthusiastic in our support of the people at Arlington South. They call to check up, they inquire about the other dog when we take only one in. This clinic is amazing... I have been going for many years and the care and concern they show I have never experienced before. They care for my three dogs and their patience when I bring all three in is above mine. But when I had to bring my beloved dog in because he was so sick with cancer and the vet sat down and talked with me about putting Skye out of his pain ... the care they showed me was touching ... they made me feel that I made a good choice and let me hold Skye as he passed ... the vet cried with me and never left us... Last year we lost our rescued brother and sister beagle/jack rusells within a month of each other. The entire staff at Arlington South treated them and us with compassion and professionalism in their final hours. We had our dogs for 14 years and the staff were the only pros who treated them during that time and our dogs loved them. Naturally their loss hit us hard and we really missed them. And then came the miracle. We received a call from Dr. Milligan and she told us that a client had found two very young dogs, a brother and sister, on the side of the road. The client brought them to Arlington South hospital and Dr M told her that she thought she knew of a perfect home for them. We just love Arlington South Veterinary Hospital! Dr. Larae Mason has treated both our older dogs, and our cat who had thyroid disease. She is always so very kind and compassionate, and does not push us to do treatments or tests, just provides the information and her recommendation, and there is no feeling of guilt if we just can't afford it. When we had to put our cat down when he became too ill, she and her staff were so very kind to me and made the experience as peaceful as possible. We have had a great experience with Arlington South Veterinary Hospital..In 2007, our puppy needed a procedure to correct Cherry Eye. We called to check prices and request more information. ASVH was the most reasonably priced (by far!), and and we felt very comfortable with the staff and procedure. They treated us like concerned family members. In the following 8 years we have been very pleased. It is obvious that they care about pets and the rest of the family.We have not been pressured to purchase additional treatments, medications or special foods. I initially went there to get shots for Rockie when we adopted him from Arlington Animal Services, because our current vet would not honor the discount coupon we got when we adopted him. But once I saw how well they treated him, we moved our Zoe to their care as well and never looked back. They have a great facility with great people in every respect. And when they tell me they love my dogs, I believe them! Unfortunately, Rockie had major health issues and we had to put an end to his suffering. I've had many pets and many veterinarians in my time, and Dr. Mason and her staff are by far the best I've known. They show so much compassion and concern for my cats and really take such good care of them. Five years ago, I brought in my senior (geriatric) cat to get him established as a patient so I would have a place to take him when the time came to send him to the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Mason ended up taking care of him all these years, seeing him every six months. His time finally came on October 31 of this year and I could not have wished for anything better for him. There was no stress and no pain as he gently slipped away while I held him. When it was done, Dr. Mason carried him out like he was a baby. We have been going to this vet for a while. I've gone other places but always come back. Really the only bad thing I have to say about them is they are expensive. I go other places for shots and heartworm preventive because of the price and the doctor seemed put off by this. I would love to go to them for everything but when their prices are twice as the low cost clinic its kind of hard to justify when I am getting the same thing. But when my dogs are sick or need medical care this is where we go. Read Less
