Dr. Ducote has seen my Chihuahua Bebe (15 yo) for about a month now, she came in with a bacterial infection. I have to say I absolutely love her and everyone that works there. The tech, I believe her name is Karen? is always there with Bebe and I love that I saw the same person at every visit. I am always given reminders for my next appointment and a followup phone call which is really nice! (Just like I would from my son's pediatrician!) The only reason this is missing one star is the price, it definitely added up with each visit but my focus was to make sure Bebe felt better and that's exactly what they did. I've been taking my boxer here since we got him as a puppy. We have never had any problems with the office, techs, or vets. They have always been very friendly and always manage to get us in even if it's last minute. However, the past week has been awful. Our dog was neutered a week ago and we were told he was not allowed antibiotics even tho his incision site is 8 inches long since it wasn't a normal neutered ( he had cryptorchidism). I asked if he could be on some just as a precaution and was told no and that there's was no chance of infection. The next morning our dog was having seizures, his stomach was very inflamed, his temperature was 104 and he was bleeding and had puss coming from the incision site. We had to take him to an ER which was an extra $500 on top of his $880 neuter. The next day they wanted to see him since he had gone to the ER and charged me another $70 just to see him. I asked if they'd be able to refund me for the ER visit because I asked for antibiotics and was worried about him getting infected and was pretty much told no and to f**k off. After a week of arguing they have offered nothing in return. Our what we though would be $880 bill is now $1,450 which we can not afford since we are both in school working part time jobs. We have decided to stop coming to this office because of how the incident has been handled. They never asked how our dog was doing, they only cared about their money. Read Less

The vet techs are kind and attentive and let the gals crawl all over the counters and into cabinets where they'll feel safe. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and all the exam rooms are enclosed and have feline hormone plug-ins running so they'll feel more at home. And, last year when we thought my beloved tail-less tortie had developed lymphoma, the Dr. was incredibly compassionate, informative, and supportive. I've never felt the slightest bit of hesitancy about leaving my gals here for boarding, exams, or procedures - I know they're in good hands. They're great with the details, too - whether it's mailing me check-up reminder cards when one of them is due for a visit or calling me a couple of days after an appointment to make sure everything went well, these folks make it clear they care about both the pets and the owners. My Ariel has recurring inflammation and respiratory issues (but no lymphoma!), so having a kind, knowledgeable, responsive vet is critical, and it has been an incalculable blessing to have Dr. Ducote and the rest of the team helping us through all of the various pills, treatments, and tests. Many practices feel much more geared towards dogs, since dog owners bring their critters in more often, and tend to spend more when they do come in, but these folks have gone to a great deal of trouble to make their practice friendly to all sizes and species of fur children. Good on them. They're not the cheapest, but it's absolutely worth paying the extra for the exceptional care you'll receive here. Read Less

I took my german shepherd in a few weeks ago for an exam because he had been having some pain in his leg but the staff kept trying to push unrelated and unnecessary medications and treatments for problems he didn't have. We ended up at another vet where we got him treated finally, but they said it would have been better and cheaper if we had come in earlier. I took my puppy in for an exam because her right eye had been getting more and more red over the past few days. After waiting in the exam room for about 5 minutes the vet tech came in with an invoice of $110, when I was told on the phone the exam only cost $37. They wanted to sell me 2 extra shots and a take home stool test, none of which I asked for or mentioned, as my puppy was not due for more shots for another 2 weeks. I put on the sheet they had me fill out that I was here for an exam because of my puppy's eye. When the vet came in she looked at my puppy's eye for a whole 2 seconds before deciding that the thinning hair under her eyes was probably caused by a mite and recommended another $30 test, without saying a word about the redness in her eye. Long story short they tried to charge me $160 for tests and shots I didn't need, while failing to do or say anything about the redness that I originally came in for. Now my puppy is having serious eye problems and we had to go to an emergency pet hospital, which cost over $130 and my puppy is in near constant pain, and probably will be for the next few days. All because the folks at Green Oaks were too busy trying to make a few extra bucks to pay any attention to what was actually wrong with my puppy. Read Less

Dr. Hulka and his crew are the best! I always know, without a doubt, when I have to board or take my dog here for Veterinary care that she will be well taken care of and safe, and everyone here treats our dog like family. We first found Dr. Hulka when our other dog was very sick. Sadly, she is now at the Rainbow Bridge, but Dr. Hulka and his staff were absolutely wonderful and very caring and compassionate during such a stressful and sad time. Would give no star. They only care about money...not your pet. My Tazy was brought in, weak, hurting, vomoting, diarrhea. Would not treat until we paid them up front. Gave him fluids, nausea med, antibiotics, NO PAIN MEDICINE, and sent us home. He died 6hrs later. Thanks for the nothing. Dont take your pet here if you care about them. Superb staff and service! My fiancé and I got an English Bulldog this summer and we're looking for a veterinarian that we could trust to take care of our baby, but also close to home. I called them by chance looking through the Yelp search for Bentley's initial check-up. Took my dog here today to get a bump looked at. Not only was the staff friendly and knowledgable, but they went out of their way to make my dog comfortable. She was so nervous that she wouldn't take the first two treats they brought her, then they even brought her peanut butter on a stick! My dog left healthy and happy and my boyfriend and I left with different payment options for what she would need and what was suggested. This place is great!  Even though I moved since first going here, and probably pass numerous "good" vet practices to get here...I wouldn't go anywhere else.  When I got my dog I was referred here by a veterinarian friend of mine, and I agree the docs here are top notch.  We have seen both of the vets and they are great.  They have been very good with explaining things about dog health, the need for the dental cleanings, and ways to keep our little guy healthy.  I like that they follow up after your dog has his shots or any type of procedure.  Now, if only Bailey could be "pet of the month!"  :) Read Less

My baby dog has been coughing and hacking up gunk for the past couple weeks. I was hoping it would clear up on its own but after patiently waiting it just got worse. After moving out to Arlington I hadn't found a vet I was a fan of until today! The staff was friendly from the moment I made the phone call to schedule an appointment. They greeted us by name as we walked in and this was our first time there! We had zero wait time and the vet tech met us in the room as soon as I finished filling out new patient paper work.My cowardly pitbull has a tendency to be shy when she visits the vet. She didn't want to get on the table or take the treats. However, the vet and vet tech were the absolute sweetest and loved on my pup regardless. They were determined to become friends with her and they were slowly winning her over with their praise and love. They were patient with my scared pooch and it made the trip much easier. They were not annoyed at all by her timidness. I really appreciated them!Their physical exam price was much better than other vets I have visited in the past! The even gave me $15 off for being a new patient! Their nail trimming were a little more expensive than I'm used to but they did a GREAT job and never got my dog's cuticle even tho she has some black nails and was squirming! This is the best vet office you will find. I took my cat, Sushi, here when we suspected he had become diabetic. He was diagnosed as such and the doctors both went above and beyond. I even got an after hours call that last 30 minutes about how to keep him using his box. We discussed everything from number of boxes, type of litter, placement and even kitty calming plug ins. Sadly, he was eventually put down but after that happened, they sent me a folder in the mail full of poems about going over the rainbow bridge and even some resources for pet grief. It was an awful situation and it was nice to know that someone cared. They always knew us when we walked in. They care about the pets they see. They are FANTASTIC. Read Less

If you're in the Arlington area do not take your pets to the Green Oaks North Animal Clinic. They will purposely not give you the entire diagnosis, resulting in you having to make another visit and giving them more money. Taking my poor kitty to an emergency hospital thanks to these greedy assholes. The female doctor there told us that crystals normally dont form in male cats in which they are most common in male cats also... they also did tests on his urine and failed to mention the crystals in his pee ..all they did was give him pain meds and sent us home no antibiotics no nothing..now he has a blocked urethra which calls for a catheter and an iv and since he had the pain meds he "felt better " and was able to pass urine but was still getting worse ...yesterday I came home and he had throw up his food from his urine being back.up so much he became toxic and if we had waited till monday he'd be dead Thanks for taking our money and not helping us out at all Read Less

Great practice.  Dr. Ducote and the vet techs are top notch. The clinic is always clean and well-organized. When I have an appointment, I am always seen promptly (there's no waiting around) and they are willing to work with me when I need to bring in one of my dogs for a minor emergency. Dr. Ducote is thorough in her examinations and considers every aspect of the animal's health--diet, exercise, conditions, overall health, home environment...She is very conservative with respect to medications and treatments and doesn't prescribe a course of action without good reason. She also recommends nutritional supplements when appropriate. The techs fawn over my boys (two pits) to such an extent that the dogs are excited to go the vet and think that they are on an adventure. Dr. Hulka and the staff at Green Oaks N treat you like family. I have never experienced care for my animals like they provide. I thought I had it good at my last vet but these guys go above in beyond. One experience in particular sticks out for me and has won me over. I mentioned in passing that I didn't care for a particular compounding pharmacy because they didn't have a drive through and I had to get my 3 toddlers out of the car to get my animals medication. Almost a week later, Dr. Hulka remembered that fact and called some medication into a pharmacy he found that had a drive-through. Incredible customer service. When I put my cat to sleep recently the staff treated him and I like we were family. I couldn't say enough good things about them. Definitely try them out, you won't regret it. Read Less
