I've never been to a vet/animal hospital before so I was very nervous when my dog woke up this past weekend with facial swelling. I called around and this place was able to get me in that same day right away. When I arrived the staff was very nice and friendly. When I got called to the back my dog was hurting and did not want anyone to touch her, she even tried to bite the doctor, TWICE! But.. the doctor still remained very nice and attentive to my dog and I. She told me everything that needed to be done and that my dog should be okay and may not need to go to emergency room. Today, 3 days later we went for her check up and everything is good! My dog is finally feeling better and I just want to thank this place because you can really tell they love there job and the animals as soon as you walk in. Regarding pricing I feel it isn't expensive like some other places especially for all the medicines my dog was given and for seeing her. I would highly recommend this place! Especially if you have never been to a vet/ animal hospital before! Thanks Gully Animal Hospital staff and doctors for helping my dog be happy and better again πŸ’—πŸ’— Read Less

My kitty baby has been terribly sick for weeks. After being treated poorly by another vet, being miss diagnosed and treated with an antibiotic that cats are known not to tolerate well, we thought it was the end of my poor 2 year old Taco Cats life. We went to Gully animal hospital for a second opinion before putting him down. We called and got an appointment immediately. Upon arriving, we were greeted with smiles and were quickly taken to a room. We had two techs, Katelynn and Jessica R, come in to get some info and Taco's temp. Dr.Walters then came to examine him and assured us that my kitty was not done fighting just yet. After spending so much money at another vet, funds were limited. The Dr asked us our max and she came up with a great treatment plan. The Dr and techs were very thorough in explaining medication regimens and at home care. Dr Walters even had Brooklyn, one of the receptionist ask how Taco was doing today. I am thrilled to see his progress in just 24 hours. We will only use Gully Animal hospital moving forward. This is a place that truly cares for animals. Read Less

This clinic is great! Seriously, the best I've ever experienced. The facility is nice & clean, but not so sterile that it feels scary for my fur-babies & uninviting. The staff, from the second you walk in & are greeted by the attendees at the front desk--> to the vet tech--> & then the actual vet, are all so friendly, compassionate, & really seem to care about each fur-baby they see. If they don't care as much as they appear to, then they all deserve Oscars for best performance. Haha The longest I've ever had to wait was maybe 5-10 minutes, if that; normally, I get there & before I can even set my stuff down, they already have a room ready, which is awesome! As if all of that is not great enough already, they are actually extremely affordable. Before I started taking my fur-babies to them, I'd spend hundreds of dollars on any given visit at a gross, smelly, ghetto, place that was overcrowded, staffed with rude people, & always running behind schedule. I'm busy & my fur-babies are already nervous enough as is without all that nonsense. I've recommended them to literally everyone who asks me & even some people who don't. On a sadder note: if it is getting close to the decision every fur-parent never wants to make, this is the place to bring your baby for that last good-bye. That was literally one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make & one of the worst days of my life. I could not have asked for a more accommodating & comforting environment to spend those last few moments with my furry best friend. They went above & beyond every expectation & made a really horrible event a little more bearable. Read Less

I took my dog with leg pain and we found that he had a torn ACL. I was only given a surgery option. I asked if there was anything else we could try before taking that route and felt as if I was being scolded for not jumping on board with the only option presented to me. I was also never asked about scheduling. A date was given to me immediately following this diagnosis as if it were my only choice. I was never even shown the x-rays that were taken! Β I researched on my own and found some natural anti-inflammatory supplements to add to his food. He has improved SO MUCH in such a short amount of time. I've been coming here for several years. The staff is always so very friendly! Unfortunately, I had to put my 14 year old lab down last year. She came into our lives when she was 5 months old. My husband took her to Gully because she was sick. After X-rays and a talk with the vet my husband and I made the decision over the phone. Gully is in Arlington, I was at work in Fort Worth and, our daughter lived in Richardson. The staff gave my husband a room to wait in with our angel for as long as they could but, eventually, my husband decided it would be best to free up the room and took her, Pooh, outside. My daughter and I arrived from opposites sides of the metroplex. We all 3 went in with Pooh. The tech was super sympathetic and compassionate. She explained everything step by step. All of the staff were very patient and let us stay for as long as we needed to grieve our precious animal. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. I'm so very grateful that I didn't have to deal with cold, unsympathetic staff during that situation. We were able to focus on being there for each other and for Pooh. My husband took care of everything afterwards so, I can't comment on that process. I think it's safe to say that the staff continued to be friendly. Pooh was cremated and sits on our mantel in a beautiful urn. We also had a footprint made at the office. Upon picking up the urn and footprint, included was a beautiful card signed by all the staff members with encouraging words, a pretty piece of paper with a poem on it and a couple of other small things that were sweet little trinkets. This was Poohs regular vet for years. It is still our current vet with our little dog and 2 cats. I highly recommend Gully! I will never take my animals anywhere else. I trust them. Read Less

Dr Gully immediately saw our beloved pup with a neck/spinal injury when no other Vet in town with Sunday hours would. We unfortunately could not save the 2 year old's life, however the sincere compassion and care we received from Dr. Gully and all his employees (especially his assistant) was over the top , full of concern, service, politeness and sincerity. Our precious pup was treated with tenderness and utmost respect, as were his dad and myself. Even though the clinic had closed, there was no rushing, we were told take as much time as you want or need with our loved pet, and we felt God had guided us to the right place. Thank you Dr. Gully and to everyone that helped our pup in his suffering after hours when most every clinic would say , just take him to the 24/7 Animal Hospital , which we could not afford. I have an older, diabetic dog and come in every 6-8 months (if not more) and a year ago I would have given them 5 stars. Now they have a lot of "new" receptionists and each time I bring my dog in they are less and less friendly first thing. I have seen, and experienced, them ignoring customers while talking amongst themselves. There have been quite a few times I have stood at the counter while people walk around the back, look at me, and then go about their way with out saying a thing and with no real acknowledgement. I understand things can get busy but a "welcome, we will be with you as soon as we can" goes a long way. As for the techs, there are few very personable ones but the past 2 visits they all seemed preoccupied and it feels like they just want you to pay and leave. They used to be a lot more forthcoming with information on your pet and made the visits more comfortable. The vets have all been wonderful. I started off working with Dr. Gully, who is very nice and helpful. I now work primarily with Dr. Williams and keep coming back just for her. If it wasn't for her, I would have found a new vet months ago. She is great with my dog and shows genuine care and concern. She also has a way of explaining everything without making you feel she is "dumbing it down." Plus the facility has a lot of technology and capabilities many of the smaller vet clinics do not have.Read Less

Dr. Gully Animal Hospital has seen all 6 of our pets . Been going there for several years, have lost a few through out the years. So I decided I would take a cat I found, very sick hoping for good news... Dr was nice, Tech started out nice but became rude, short with me and defensive, when the part of money came up, I said I felt no one cares and It is all about money, I asked to please let post date a check for day after visit, they said no, no payment plans... I said I am paying but leaving in the morning to go out of town to the Cancer Center. I was still talking to girl when she pretty much turned around and walked off and said she had enough... I was in tears about cat I wanted to save and her rude behavior toward me made me even more upset. I guess that's just the way it is. I know my comment won't mean anything but hopefully someone will care enough to be a little more compassionate when it comes to people being emotional about their animals.Read Less

I knew my dog was in the early stages of congestive heart failure, and had developed a cough. We had moved and I went to another doctor in Ft. Worth. I drove 30 minutes back to Gully after the Doctor in Ft Worth said he couldn't help but there was a specialist that he was referring my dog Β to for a minimum of $650! Dr. Gully did an X-ray and prescribed meds and understood I was trying to make him comfortable, make it where we could all sleep at night and not break the bank! They even suggested online meds to make it cheaper and more convenient. Thank you for not trying to rip me off and make me feel bad about not wanting to spend tons of money on a 13 year old dog. I will gladly make the trip again! Read Less

My dog Little Boy got sick Saturday and my regular vet could not get him in so I came here to search for a recommended vet and Gully animal hospital was the top rated one. So I went with them. I wish I hadn't. I took Little boy in and already had an idea of what was wrong. He had subcutaneous emphysema. Little boy was fairly bloated because of his condition and Dr. Francis took an X-Ray to give a better prognosis. He then came back and said due to the amount of air already trapped in his skin he was unable to determine if there was a tear in his trachea and if that's where the air was coming from. He then said the likeliness of him surviving this was not good. I then advised him that I wanted to euthanize him, as I didn't want my baby to suffer. Dr. Francis left and then came back and said we should give him a fighting chance. They had had my baby on oxygen and his levels were at 90% and that was good considering his condition and they are typically at 98%. I felt a glimmer of hope. Read Less

My step dad and I had a terrible experience with Dr. Gully. We normally see another vet, but Gully Animal Hospital was one of the few hospitals open on Sunday. We have a diabetic cat that started acting extremely lethargic, so we decided that he needed to see a doctor immediately. Dr. Gully suggested that we do blood work, so we gave him the OK to do so. He came back into our room a few minutes later and explained to us that everything looked normal. After he left, my step dad and I sighed and thought, "Thank god! Our baby is going to be alright!" Fortunately, he left the blood work on the table and my step dad and I began looking at it. We immediately noticed that the patient information was completely wrong and that Dr. Gully was reading the blood work for the WRONG CAT. Now, I'm a veterinary technician myself, and I assume that the technician in the room with us must have given Dr. Gully the wrong paperwork. That's where the problem began. It's utterly unprofessional to perform your job with as much carelessness as this technician did, but it is just as bad to begin diagnosing a patient's blood work without even VERIFYING the paperwork. I texted my mother after received the (false) good news (since she has been crying/stressing out all day about this at work), and she was extremely relieved when she thought that our kitty was going to be okay. Unfortunately, $350 later, I had to be the one to call her and correct the doctor's mistake. I'm currently in school studying to become a veterinarian one day, and if I ever own my own clinic, I will NEVER act as unprofessionally as Gully Animal Hospital did today. They were careless. Just a heads up to anyone deciding on whether or not to bring their loved ones here. Read Less

Just wow! Overall outstanding place. So long story short my dog got lost and ran over his leg and never thought I would see him again. Neighbors across the highway have found him, and this happened on a Saturday. We looked around everywhere for any location open on Sunday's, and this is your place! They even offer 25% your first visit. I tried to place an appointment immediately but it was booked until Tuesday, but we called and they squeezed us in at 12pm for Sunday! (So always call for an appointment, they offer walk ins but this place is never not busy)Then even longer story short the surgeon was on vacation and everyone told us our dog's leg would have to get amputated. They even offered us other doctors that use to work there for a more affordable price. We checked in with them but they all said the same answer. Until we finally waited for the surgeon to come back and he simply amputated his toes. Saving my dog's leg. The staff is amazing. They really do care about you and your babies! But book your appointment because this place is so awesome if you're a walk in you'll be waiting 30 minutes to an hour. Thank you gully hospital for all the love and caring you did for my family! My weenie dog was playing with his sister, a lab, when he suddenly cried and stopped moving. He wouldn't put any weight on his front arm so I thought it was broken and knew I needed to get him to a vet but this was a Saturday night and I refused to go to one of those emergency places that are open 24hrs because from past experience, they charge $2000 for doing basically nothing. I looked at all the vets in the Euless, Hurst, Bedford areas but none were open on Sundays. Thankfully, I found Gully's website that said there were open on Sundays! I didn't even care that they were a 25 minute drive from my house.I called first thing Sunday morning and they were able to get me in at 1pm. The office was clean and nice looking and the front desk was very friendly. The technician was so kind and Dr. Shank seemed smart. Turns out my dog had dislocated his elbow and the vet had to pop it back in. He's back to normal now.For the exam, x-rays, an injection of doggy morphine, and two different types of medication, the cost was about $200 which really isn't bad. (They showed me a much cheaper option that didn't include x-rays.) Thank you Gully animal hospital for being open on Sundays. Read Less

Came in today after calling 6 other vets in the area. The reasons why I turned down the other vets was because I wanted a place with a relatively low consultation fee, and be able to bring in my dog Bella today. I called Gully's at 12:03 p.m, asked what their consultation fee was and it was $45 with 25% off for new clients (making it the cheapest out of the 7 total calls I made). Then I asked if they accepted walk ins, and the woman on the phone said yes but their appointments are prioritized first. She was able to set up an appointment for me at 12:30 p.m., and told me I had till 1:00 p.m. to arrive there. Bella was hit by a car last night, but luckily managed to leave the scene with only reddening in her right eye and a cut next to it. I made the call not to take her to the ER after observing her and googling symptoms of internal bleeding. Physically aside from the cut, she seemed perfectly fine. Although I still wanted to make sure her cut was properly treated and to get checked out just incase. I got there at 12:30, didn't have to wait very long to get assisted. Dr. Franklin was fast and prompt. Bella ended up needing stitches and had to be sedated to do so. I was given some medicine and pain killers to give to her daily also. I didn't hear anything about the cost till it was time to pay, which sort of bothered me but I was glad to see that the total didn't exceed $200. My total came out to be $175.69. I was going to pay whatever the amount either way, but it'd be nice to know the costs before doing any procedure. Just in case I didn't bring enough/have enough money or something along those lines. Nonetheless, the fact that I was able to get Bella treated so quickly right after making the call to Gully's blew me away. The whole process took about an hour and 15 minutes. Read Less

Always there to answer phone calls when I had questions when it got towards the end. He was kind and understanding when it was our 14 yr old Boston's time. Now we have a new puppy and only Dr. Franklin or Dr. Williams will be her vet. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Franklin or Dr. Williams. I took my 10 yr. old beloved Yorkie to Gully Hospt. because he was not feeling well. Dr. Franklin listened to his heart and appeared overly excited when he announced he had a hart murmur (as if he had never encountered one before). He looked at his teeth and told me because I had not practice good oral hygiene I was responsible for his heart issue. He took blood and told me the out come would probably not be good and he was not sure they would be able to do anything for him. I had to wait on the labs for 20 mins. and when the vet returned he told me it wasn't good and that I needed to put him down. When I asked if that was the only option he said he could put him on IV fluids but had only a 10% chance. Thank heavens I thought to take him to I-20 where Dr. Welch and Troy looked at the labs, told me they saw NO reason to put him down and asked if they could put him in ICU. Long story short one year later my Yorkie is doing great and more active than ever! My experience with this vet was heart breaking and I've since learned of others who have had worse experiences! A few weeks ago, I found a puppy in pretty poor condition. All of his fur was missing, he had a distended belly, and of course, worms/worm eggs in his stool. My usual vet was already booked for the day, but they referred me to a vet that might be able to see me- Gully Animal Hospital. The girls on the phone and at the front desk were great- very nice, helpful, etc. I have nothing but great things to say about them! In fact, Dr. Gully and his vet tech could have probably learned a thing or two from them with regards to ""bedside manner"" and overall demeanor. Dr. Gully was very short, seemed like he didn't want to be there, and actually looked at me when we were discussing the puppy maybe once in the 5 minutes he was with us. All of that is almost excusable, I suppose. My real problem lies in the fact that even after I brought in a stool sample that obviously had worms/worm eggs in it, he claimed all fecal tests came back negative and that my puppy did not have worms. Let's fast forward 4 weeks to this morning- my puppy has pooped out not one 6 inch long worm, but 2 and several smaller worms as well. Needless to say, I'm extremely upset not only by the fact that I paid for the tests necessary to ensure that my puppy was safe and was essentially lied to and stolen from, but also that a vet, someone who supposedly has your animal's best interest at heart, would allow myself and my puppy to be put in this situation. Yes, yes... I myself am an ex-employee of Gully Animal Hospital, like so many others. I'm not going to totally rag on the place, but I do agree with some of the significant statements below. Some of the practices are unethical (physical treatment of animals.. but I have to say, its not like every animal who enters the place is abused. But I have seen it happen more times than I think is OK. (which is zero times) I also agree that an AHAA practice is the way to go. Because: AHAA has set standards of patient care, medicine, sterility, housekeeping/cleanliness, ethics, and more. Its like they do all the research you can't do yourself, and prove it for you with regular inspections and reviews of the clinic by AHAA officials. I do know that Gully A.H. reuses some medical supplies/equipment that are intended for one time or one patient use (yes, the fluid lines; and things like surgical gowns that are intended to be disposable- [they do autoclave them, though this is still not ideal] ). As for the office manager being rude, that was probably said because he tends to show severe favoritism among employees. But he does seem to be nice to clients (whether this is genuine or sucking up, I don't know). One thing I CERTAINLY agree with from that long review is to NOT leave a pet hospitalized overnight- mostly b/c there aren't employees overnight, and pets- just like people- deserve 24 hour monitoring and care if they are in a critical condition. One awesome thing about the clinic? Grooming. Brandy (one of the groomers there) has been grooming for a long time, and she is just simply one of the best groomers there is! (Need proof? try to make an appointment... just be sure you do it weeks in advance, cause she'll be booked quite far out) I have never known Brandy to accidentaly cut a pet when grooming (unlike the Petsmart groomers... Sorry Petsmart); and all of her clients simply rave about her. So, about the clinic on the whole- Here's how I feel: Yes, you can get better care for your pets at other clinics, you can also get worse care for your pets at other clinics. Yes, the prices at Gully A.H. are a little bit higher than other general practices, and I'm not quite sure why- at least when I was working there the diagnostic and treatment technologies weren't horrible, but they certainly weren't great. I do hear they now have digital X-Ray, but I'm pretty sure thats about as far as the ""cutting edge"" goes. Gully's is fine for vaccines and treatment of common pet maladies, but don't hospitalize a critical patient there. Do try to have your pets groomed there. Well, Thats about it. Hope this helps!

She also has a way of explaining everything without making you feel she is "dumbing it down." Dr.

Couldn't imagine a better place.Affordable care. Filled with people who care. Read Less

Read Less

My dog was really ill, & we wanted to get her seen asap. I called & they got us in within 40 minutes. We were afraid it was going to be crazy expensive because of how nice the clinic was, but the prices were very reasonable. They have awesome hours! They are open 7 days a week & until 11 pm M-F. They don't charge extra to come late or on weekends. The tech & vet were very calming (We were really worried.) and answered all our questions. She wasn't as sick as we thought. They were really great with our Peppy! We left knowing exactly what to do. I was very impressed! They took such good care of all of us! Read Less

We've been using Gully Animal Hospital for years. Dr. Franklin is a superb vet! Extremely caring and sensitive to your older pets needs. He has treated both of our Boston Terriers as though they were his own dogs. Offered to take them home and care for them as the hospital does not provide 24hr attended care. Williams. Truly kind people who want to do what's best for their patients. Will not use any other vet. We moved 30 minutes away and still make the drive to Arlington. Read Less
