STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!! THIS IS A PET FUNERAL HOME!!
Our beloved cat Sasha of 11 years was having urinating problems beginning the Mother€s Day weekend on Saturday. He was completely blocked that weekend and we had no choice but to take him to this veterinarian hospital to try to save him as nothing nearby was open. Being a holiday, the only clinic available was the I-20 clinic in Western Arlington. What a mistake was this place! After the vet had examined him, he stated that our only option was extensive blood work, x-rays, placing a catheter under sedation, hospital stay, all at a cost of around $3000! My wife had a good friend that was a vet out of town and said that we could demand a simple catheter to be placed to unblock the cat and that the blood work, hospital stay, and e-rays were not necessary. The cost of the catheter should have been a maximum of $400.00, but after we insisted on only the catheter, they DIDN'T want to lover the price below $800.00, still a gouge! We paid this amount anyway and Sasha was euthanized that night. We were told that he aspirated, bad breathing, bleeding in the urine, and that they said to try to save him would require several thousand dollars more. Due to their lack of caring, we feel that they could have done a lot more to save our cat than was done. It is quite obvious that the charges of care for a pet are exorbitant and that they only care about draining one€s wallet and not particularly about saving the animal from death. We feel like something should be done with these dishonest people!
Our reply to the clinic's response:
In the first place, your prices are 2 to 3 times higher than most other pet clinics charge running into the thousands of dollars for a standard procedure. The only option we were told was to get x-rays, scans, blood work, etc. in lieu of a catheter procedure only which might have saved our cat if done on our first visit, amounting only to $800.00 hundred dollars. We were told to preform all of these other test which we feel like were totally unnecessary to make this life saving procedure to just get him drained. Furthermore, we were NEVER quoted $400.00 or $500.00 for ANY procedure! We were NEVER offered the option to have him only catheterized! Sasha's diet could be changed to prevent further blockages from occurring, but absolutely nothing was said regarding this that might have been helpful! I just find a lack of caring here! You have many other similar bad reviews posted currently, so we are not the only ones that feel like we were short handed. He might have been just another cat for you, but Sasha was like a member of the family to us. Read Less
