I've been taking my dogs and cats to Dr Frizzel for over 12 years and I trust his advice. Very caring and thorough. He seems to be able to get right to the heart of the problem with the least amount of expensive diagnostics and he always tries the simplest treatments first. He is very fair when it comes to cost. Heaven gained a little four-legged angel today. We had to say goodbye to Jonathan's baby girl, Briza, this morning. She had a brain tumor and was deteriorating quickly. Goodbye's are never easy and especially to ones who have been a part of your heart and family like our Breezy was. Romp and play in heaven, precious girl, and thank you for being such a special part of our lives and family . You are now pain free and in the hands of others who have loved you and will care for you until we see you on the other side of the rainbow. Cat friendly animal clinic! We took our Puma there when he was a stray kitten we adopted and thought would die. Dr. Fizzell helped us save him. Eleven years later he did it again when Puma had an skin problem. We had taken him somewhere else over the weekend and he gotten worse and almost died before we could get him to Dr. Fizzell on Monday. With lots of care he recovered and is now back in by lap where he belongs. I will always us Matlock Oaks Animal Clinic for my fur babies. Read Less

I've been going here loyally for over 6 years and I have been paying over $300 for services such as vaccinations that were not needed at all. You are better off paying 10$ per shot at Texas Coalition instead of 5 vaccination shots costing over $300. Also, the vet does not know what he is talking about and tries to come up with some medical terminology to come up with a diagnosis for your sick pet. He told me that my dog had cancer without doing any tests (just only by looking at my dog). I had to go to another vet to get a second opinion to see why my dog was sick, Oh and good news HE DOES NOT HAVE CANCER. My dog is in great care with the new vet and is extremely healthy now that he is not in the care of Dr. F from Matlock Oaks. Dr. Frizzel needs to go back to medical school because he clearly does not know what he is talking about! Read Less

I needed a place to board my kitty and Matlock was recommended by his regular veterinarian at Gully Animal Hospital. Matlock is a sister clinic. The ladies were so nice, and really pleasant. I had to do very little other than call and take him. They worked with Gully to get his vaccine records. When I picked up my little guy he didn't seem stressed or traumatized. He seemed like he was in a great mood actually. I can't speak for the veterinary care, but if they work with Gully, I'd imagine it's top notch. The facility was clean and the staff were awesome. Dr Frizzell did a good job on Mojo our cat. Mojo is terminally ill and we got a quick diagnosis and several treatment options. He is affordable, a didnt recommend expensive procedures and treatments since the outlook wasnt good. With Dr Frizzell we are keeping are our pet comfortable and he is living out his life well. I don't have any personal experience from this vet but my sister used to take her cat here to get vaccinations and board. The vet was great until one time when she asked the vet to get the cat vaccinated but the vet told her that there was no reason to vaccinate the cat since it probably won't live another year. The cat was in perfect health. Nothing wrong! He was just 12 years at the time. So when my sister had to board the cat the following year somewhere else, the cat needed to be up to date on shots. The cat is 15 years old now and is still in great shape. I'm no so sure about this vet. Read Less

Dr. Frizzell is the only one to see. I took my furbaby in and she saw Dr. Mayo for the first time. He walked in defensively, would not allow her to sniff and tried pushing her back with a file. Of course my dog felt uncomfortable and started barking and whining. He then told me to get her, which I did, he still did not allow sniffing or greet her. She began to bark and growl at that point. (FYI - She has NEVER reacted this way to a person before) He left the room and the tech came back telling me I had to muzzle her or he wasn't coming back in. I am absolutely baffled at any vet that would approach an animal that way and then blame them saying they are "aggressive". I am seriously considering switching vets after this experience. I will give them another shot with my dog seeing only Dr. Frizzell and hope that in the future everything is as good as her previous visits with him. Read Less

We have taken our pets to this vet since it opened in 1992. I have never been to another vet I trust or respect more than him. We have not lost any pets yet but we have been in there after he has had to put some down and I am always touched by his compassion for the family and their pet. He always gives you all the possible options but never makes you feel guilty if you chose to decline some of the recommended treatments. He helps you make the right choice for your pet and yourself. They misdiagnosised by dogs condition. She was in end stage renal failure, they said old age and a bad back(disc problem). Gave me prescriptions for pain and an antibiotic without doing lab work. Had to put her down 2 day later..her renal labs were so high they couldn't get a number. Read Less
