We have been using Richter Animal Hospital for many years. They have been with through multiple cats and dogs. We recently had the occasion again to need to get one of our pets seen. A quick call got us in with Dr. Randolph. The care given to our pet, as usual, was excellent. The facility is always clean, which is amazing considering the numbers of four legged creatures that go in & out every day. We've been with Richter for more than 3 years now, and they are a great resource for bi-annual exams for our geriatric gals, as well as a resource for emergencies. This place is the best. We have had our pets visit other places that offer similar services, and a couple we really liked. But RAH is far and above the most wonderful place to take our furry friends. The staff, from the front to the Doctors, and everyone in between are truly awesome. Awesome may not be strong enough for these wonderful people. One word...Awesome! I moved from Hawaii and needed a long-term kennel for my dog. After calling and talking with the front desk I emailed the vet records and they informed me of what shots my dog should get before we arrive so it could be a seamless transition.  Some shots were not offered in Hawaii, so upon arrival they administered the needed vaccinations so my dog could be kennel approved.  This was a place recommended to me by colleagues at the new work place.  Thank God! Richter Animal Hospital took care of my German Shepherd as if she were a queen.  This place has a boujie feel to it, and my dog is boujie so...it was a match made in heaven. My dog had it so good that I was thinking about checking into the kennel myself. They were very flexible, with my arrival dates changing multiple times, and upon arrival provided a thorough examination.  I even got a call from, Dr. Richter himself, to let me know how Stella was doing during her stay.  The staff are top notch and special thanks to Bradley for giving my Stella special attention.  Since it was a long stay, they hooked her up with some perks. All, I will say is that she was pawing in style.  I definitely recommend Richter Animal Hospital, I live 30 minutes away and wouldn't hesitate to take her back for future stays or visits to the vet.  A truly professional organization that provides 5-Star service to not only the animals that stay and are seen there but to their owners too.  Give them a shot. I have a lab with inflammatory bowel syndrome.   He has received incredible care from Richter  after coming from a less than interested vet.  I wish I had brought him to Richter years ago.  I feel my dog will have a better chance at survival now.  The staff are knowledable, kind and friendly.   Their priority is to give the best veterinary care out there and they succeed. I brought my dog to them when another animal hospital did not try very hard to help him. Richter animal hospital quickly gave my pet some medicine for a much more reasonable fee and my dog is as good as new. I have 2 senior pups that need a little extra TLC and I know they're receiving the absolute best care from everyone at Richter Animal Hospital. I drive from Richardson just to take my pups here! I had to recently make the decision to put our wonderful dog of 13 years to rest. They were very compassionate and helped me with all our needs. They are wonderful people. They are professional and are reasonable as far as prices compared to other vets. My boys received a new puppy for Christmas recently. They were thorough in checking our puppy. Everyone at Richter Animal hospital is knowledgeable and very friendly, they all truly love all their patients, canines and felines and it shows in the loving care they provide. My kitty Guss developed diabetes and with the great team at Richter he is now free from diabetes and insulin. I first visited the pet resort to get a tour, even though they were busy they took time to show me around and answered all my questions.  When my vet moved from his practice I decided to change to Richter, they were close to home and I was impressed by their willingness to answer all my questions when I toured.  I took Boudroux to them to get his neutering done, they found two shots my previous vet missed that were important, took his blood to make sure he would be ok in surgery and did a scraping on his skin as he has rashes from fleas, ants, grass, the air....who knows.  They called me when he woke up and let me know he did great, the vet called, not the receptionist.  When I picked him up they went through all the instructions, gave me some medicated shampoo for him and let me know he was pretty good during his visit.  Boo is a puppy still, very active and has not learned his manners yet.  (we work on it daily)The next day they called to see how he was.  I recommend this vet, and his business.  They are clean, friendly and informative. I have been in the veterinary field for over 10 years. Just moved to a new state and researched my new vet choice very carefully. Richter had the best reviews and I drive by their hospital daily on my way to work. Wonderful facility. I also heard from other clinics that they were tops. I had a crisis with my male cat and ended up bringing him back for a urinary catheter and overnight care. They took great care of him, the staff was wonderful and friendly and Dr McDaniel was great. She called me multiple times daily! This is so new to me since every where I have worked in vet clinics, the techs or CSRs end up making these calls. Great personalized service. Loved Dr Randolf too. We have 2 rescue red tabbies. Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick. We recently started going to RAH and it's an amazing place with amazing staff. Harry does not like to have his mani and pedi. But today my husband took him and they were home in record time. Becky knows the tricks for handling finicky felines. Harry came home and there was no hissing and Jim said there wasn't even a howl during the trim. Harry was not in distress and that makes us happy. I can't praise this place enough! We've been taking our dogs here for almost three years now and every time has been very positive. Both of our dogs are rescues and can be unpredictable with strangers, so we were happy to find a place that they were comfortable going to. The staff at Richter is always so calm and helpful and make this flustered dog mom very much at ease. Whether it's for boarding or a vet visit, everyone shows they truly care about our dogs. Just today (after a stress free and successful vet appointment), my dogs were getting unruly in the lobby as I was trying to pay. Juggling my wallet and two dogs on leashes was proving to be quite difficult. Without hesitation, Vanessa jumped in and helped out. Her quick thinking and familiarity with one of my dogs even prevented a possible mishap with another customer. That is just one of the examples of why I highly recommend this place! Read Less

Richter has been by far one of the best hospitals I have taken any of my dogs to. I was an emotional wreck due to the situation my dog had to be boarded for 8 days there. Staff were so good to my baby, and they went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of. They were all extremely nice and helpful and made sure I felt safe leaving my baby in their care. I've looked over some of the other reviews and yes we think that the vet business is indeed a business and likes to make money. Simply meaning that while it's mostly optional there's a plethora of tests and procedures available and recommended that can really jack up a vet bill. We opt for the tests that make sense and applicable to the reasons we might be there. Dr. Randolph makes this place indispensable for us. We have three dogs 2 standard poodles and one dobie. Somewhere along the way our female standard started having seizures when entering their reception area. She didn't do this in the past so I think it's something with age. She's always been a bit high strung and strong on the flight instinct. Anyway, it was very traumatic for me at first (she's my baby girl) but Dr. Randolph had a workaround. He happily comes out in the parking lot and conducts any tests we need right outside the door. Leeloo loves him and doesn't seize out and for that I will be forever grateful. When Randolph hasn't been available the other Docs are fine as well but should Dr. Randolph ever leave this place we'll have a decision on our hands to make. Everyone there is pleasant, professional, and conversational. All in all, unless you're a miserly penny-pinching scrooge you can't go wrong with this place. If you are a scrooge then go to Petco and get a first aid kit, some styptic, and some of their cheapest dog food and take note of what you look like in a mirror. Just kidding of course but Vets these days want to make money too and Richter is by far NOT the most expensive place. Read Less

Richter Animal Hospital/Pet Resort is THE place for pets in Arlington and probably all of Dallas!  I have been taking my dog Mika here for daycare and the staff is amazing.  It only took a couple days before they knew my by name and they treat your pet like royalty.  Mika goes crazy when she figures out we are going to daycare here!  Front desk, daycare staff, and vets, the staff is A+!Keep up the good work RAH! Just picked up my dog from being boarded 9 days here. This place is fabulous! I was on a cruise and unable to access their cameras from my phone so they emailed me pictures of her during the day camp that I had asked to have her be in a couple days. she looked so happy! and when I picked her up she was happy to see me...but then after I paid and talked to them it was like ~man....do I have to go! I plan on putting her in day camp occasionally here and plan on boarding her here again on my next trip next month. They are super nice and a very efficient place. they take them out 4 times a day when you board your dogs..other places that I had looked at only took them out 2-3 times a day. they board inside..and then go outside to do their business. it is a lovely facility and a great set up. I researched many other boarding places for large dogs and this was by far the BEST place to go! Read Less

We started taking our 2 dogs and 1 cat to Richter last year.  A friend of mine recommended Richter to us after we had gone through a bad experience at the previous vet that we were using.  Dr. Randolph is great and has taken excellent care of our fur babies.  The rest of the staff is helpful and friendly as well.  They also have an amazing doggy daycare program. I am giving this location a value of 1 star for multiple reasons, and these are not related to the care my animal received. The care was fine and they also have a webcam for checking up on your pup, which was nice. I was traveling to the DFW area and needed a place to board my puppy while I visited friends for the weekend. This had me dropping my puppy off on Saturday and picking up on a Sunday. I called earlier in the week to secure a suite for her (she has anxiety so some comforts such as a bed would help) and the individual quoted me the price of 42 per night, that's it. Nothing else, 42 bucks and we would be done. However, I arrive on Saturday and I am greeted with this bill of nearly 200 dollars. They left out a few charges when I set up the boarding. BE WARNED! They will require your dog/cat/animal to receive a flu vaccination which is reasonable ($25 bucks or so) BUT they require your animal to be "evaluated" before they can do so (approx. $50). This was not discussed even in the slightest upon setting up my reservation. IN ADDITION TO THE VACCINATION, they also charge an extra day charge to pick up on a Sunday, which was not discussed either until dropping my puppy off. So, long story short, they sold me on the $42 a night rate to get me in the door then hit me with a $200 bill (FOR A SINGLE NIGHT). Like I said the care was fine but I find that practice to be slightly predatory and underhanded. Just my two cents. Read Less
