The doctors here are very thorough and friendly and even called to check on us 2 weeks later. Giving more suggestions to help with my cats urinating issues. They are younger and more receptive to the fact that cats don't always act the best at the vet. The clinic is spic and span, the animals are always eager to go in, and they stay calm, during the visit. Dr. Karen gets down on the floor with my big dogs, gives them treats, and loves on them. The care she gives them is phenomenal! When she speaks to me, she listens to what I have to say, and explains treatment options. The office staff are also friendly and professional, and always double check, that I know how medications are to be administered. I had an appointment for my healthy cat to receive annual shots. Dr. Warren never kept us waiting more than 15 min. I have noticed changes since the establishment has changed hands. I waited an hour and finally left without services being rendered. I am now looking for a new vet that is more efficient, and cares that the wait is not only traumatic for the animal the longer it takes, but for the owners trying to comfort a pet scared out of their wits. Maybe they should have special days for wellness appointments, or at least be ready to get those that just need shots in and out quickly. Just a suggestion, but we are looking for another vet. Excellent experience as a first-time client taking in my daughter's dog. I already knew two technicians who work there and decided to try them out based on a recommendation of a friend. They have low staff turn-over, which I think is always an indicator of a good place of business. You will not find a better veterinarian and staff in the metroplex than Dr Kirby and his staff.  Dr. Kirby has been taking care of our animals for many years.  He and his staff give wonderful care to senior animals as well as puppies and kittens. The ladies in the office are caring, kind and they truly care about the animals they take care of.  You can call with problems and they will patiently help you over the phone and work you in as their schedule allows. We have been using this vet since 1998. They cared for our dog for 16 years before she died a couple of years ago. Dr Warren and the staff are caring and professional. I was never pressured to have any extra or unnecessary procedures. I always feel like they love the animals as much as their owners do. When we adopted our new dog, she was terribly ill for the first few days and I thought I was going to lose her. They were mindful of the costs of treatments and kept trying to find a solution. I have been going to this vet for many years. My cat injured its leg on a Sunday. I took him to the Animal Hospital in Mansfield. The vet was great said it was probably a soft tissue injury, but recommended an x-ray. Their estimate was $350. I decided to take him home an follow up with my vet to see if the x-ray would be cheaper because it is not an acute setting. I went on Monday only to get the same estimate plus the $185.00 I paid at the Pet ER. I of course felt like an idiot for not getting the x-ray done at the ER. I really don't see any use for "personal" or "neighborhood" vets if they charge the same as the Animal Hospitals that actually have to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. This happened to be the second really bad experience that my family has experienced here in the last few weeks. My father had to witness a really botched and painful euthanasia of their dog. He is forever traumatized. I will never go back. Read Less

The staff was very gentle and seemed to genuinely care about each one of my cats.  One cat was extremely ill and did not eat for three weeks.  They fed him through a tube and kept him for a long time...until his fever broke.  Then they sent him home with me so that I could feed him critical care cat food with a syringe until he started eating.  They helped me keep the price as low as possible by sending him home once the fever broke and it was safe for him to come home.  Once he began to eat again, he has been a happy, active cat ever since.  I wish this clinic was closer to my house because I would take my cats there all of the time. I have never written a Google review before but I am writing this review because of the times we live in and because of such a wonderful experience with Dr. Kirby Warren and his staff at Sanford Oaks Animal Clinic. My husband and I have always had pets and have moved a few times and so we have had many different Veterinarians for our pets. When we moved to our current home we asked around for recommendations for a good Vet and got many recommendations for Dr. Warren at Sanford Oaks Animal Clinic. We have not been disappointed. When we had to put our last dog down when it was her time we were so surprised and pleased with the compassion and care shown to us during this difficult time. Now with our current dog, as always, Dr. Kirby Warren, Dr. Gena Viator, and the staff are always pleasant, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Kirby always uses kindness, proficiency, timeliness, and common sense in his work with us and for our dog. We never feel rushed when we see him but we have never had to wait for an appointment either. He is the best Veterinarian we have ever had and his staff is very warm and efficient. I love what they did with the remodel too! In a time where the news has a story about a Vet in Fort Worth who deceived his patients, it is so comforting to know we are in good hands in Arlington with Sanford Oaks Animal Clinic. I can't imagine taking my pets to any other clinic. Anyone that knows me knows that I will not leave my pets in the care of someone who I don't have 100% trust in. I need to know that they love my animals as much as I do. That is how I feel about Sanford Oaks. I can't think of a higher compliment to pay than that. I can't imagine taking my pets anywhere else. I am a veterinarian who has been ""on the inside"" of this clinic as I worked for Kirby Warren for several years. I must say that Dr. Warren is one of the best. He has excellent diagnostic and surgical skills, and he has many years of experience. He is the type of veterinarian who strives to get better and better as he works hard to improve his education. If I have a difficult case to diagnose, I will call him before I will call a specialist. He's that good. I miss working there. They have a great staff and are a great team. Lets put it this way, I wish that I could find just 1 pediatrician in the entire Metroplex with even half the kind, caring, and knowledgeable demeanor that Dr. Kirby exhibits. He is such a compassionate but objective Vet. We have 3 German Shepherds and a cat and have been using Dr. kirby for 14 years now. Not once have I doubted his treatment or knowledge.
