Several months ago, my last vet told me after a wildly expensive visit that my cat would need thyroid surgery. I had gone through that 14 years ago with a different cat who had the $1,300 surgery then died 2 weeks later so I didn't see the point of doing it again. In the last week, however, my cat hasn't been acting like herself, and she has lost a lot of weight. I didn't want her to suffer so I looked at the Yelp reviews for the 2222 Vet Clinic, thinking I was going there to have her put to sleep. I made an appointment for this afternoon, but when I told the very nice tech what I was coming for, she squeezed me in right away, not wanting me or my cat to suffer longer than she had to.Dr. Metzler spent the better part of an HOUR with me, examining Lil' Bit and explaining various options, seeking the one that was right for us. The short version is that he thinks she will be OK. He gave me medication, showed me how to administer it and sent me on my way. He was extremely nice, patient and great with my cat, and he never made me feel that he was rushing. He answered all of my questions and gave me a result I was not at all expecting. The staff was really terrific. As I left, I told them that I have a new vet and that was even before I saw that they only charged $103, including the medication! My old vet would have charged two or three times that! I really can't recommend them enough. I've always had a cat or two but have never found a vet I felt so pleased with, for both patient care and reasonable price. Read Less
