We started going to Arbor Animal Clinic when we got our dog because they were 2 minutes down the street and had decent reviews. Having now taken our dog there for almost 4 years, I can't imagine a better vet. These guys are organized, always willing to answer our questions (even when we just randomly call in), and have excellent doctors for our pup, Hazel. We not only go for regular check-ups and vaccines for Hazel, but have also had to have them perform a couple foreign body removal surgeries. They are accommodating of Hazel and her anxiety about going to the vet, doing their best not to put her through anything that isn't absolutely necessary; and for us Arbor Animal Clinic does a great job of being upfront about what procedures are necessary and explaining why and what costs will be associated. We especially like Drs. Kennedy & Butcher for always taking great care of Hazel! Read Less

Arbor Clinic is truely wonderful! They have been taking care of 3 of by precious fur babies for a number of years now and with lots of Love and care! I manage apartments in the Arboretum and I refer many of my residents to Arbor Clinc and they are also very happy with them all the Doctors and staff! Arbor Animal Clinic is Great!!! I trust them with my baby girl, Ruby-Bean, and my 2 cats. They've taken great care of my animals for over 7 years. When my dog was a puppy, she regularly tried to kill herself by eating mushrooms, and Arbor Animal Clinic always made her healthy. I have only been to Arbor animal clinic once but I loved it.  I am that person who thinks of her pets as family.  I saw Doctor Butcher. I highly recommend her! She is so sweet and relatable!  I felt like my cat got great care.  Her gums had just a small amount of redness, instead of pushing a cleaning she said I could just attempt to brush her teeth. I liked that because a lot of vets would insist on an expensive cleaning. I take my dogs to a different vet because I absolutely love them but they are in kyle.  I haven't made the move because I trust them so much with my dogs.  I am glad to say I will be moving them because I finally found a vet I trust that is close to me. Because of their inability to listen to a concern and inaccurate notes of my dog I won't be able to take him into my next apartment and will have to return him to the shelter. In the notes it was stated that when I called into the clinic I said that he was having trouble socializing and being aggressive towards other pets. In reality I was trying to explain how fearful he is of humans and wont even want to go outside because of his fear, when he does make it outside he wouldnt even make it to the grass before he released his diarrhea(caused by stress). He is 100% friendly towards other dogs, even ones who snap at him or try to mount him(stated in the notes from the shelter i adopted him at). The only problem he has is with humans, not being aggressive towards humans but being so fearful that he doesn't even want to go outside. I've never left a negative review no matter how bad the quality or service. This incident just caused so much grief that I had to share it. I haven't met the other doctors and I'm sure they are phenomenal but this is geared towards Dr. Kennedy. Edit** Photo below is Mack at his new foster home. Like many reviewers I cannot speak highly enough of Arbor Animal Clinic. I like them so much that now that we live in 78704, I still drive up to see them for our dog. We have seen a few of their vets over the last 7 years and everyone on their staff has been top notch. I appreciate that the vets and techs do not push unnecessary tests or medication. Amazing staff here. We came and brought both our dogs with us for their annual check up. No pressure on procedures and tests, but they provide charts so you know exactly how much you are paying and for exactly what. That sort of transparency is absolutely valued. We had come to them after some nightmare situations with Anderson and it was the best decision we could ever make for our pets. EVERYONE from the front desk ladies, techs and drs are the best! They listen to your every concern, never laugh at your overprotective fur parents questions and treat you with absolute respect. Their price is affordable! The monthly medications we buy through the clinic, are the same price if you were to buy them outside the clinic. They do not tack on last minute or unnecessary add-ons. The whole Arbor Clinic staff took wonderful care of us humans and our dog when we had to say good-bye to him last Friday. It was a very hard moment and I couldn€t have wished for a more empathetic, respectful support from a vet. I was blown away how warm and sensitive they helped us managing this hard decision had how supportive they were during the whole process. As sad as it was, the doc gave us the feeling that we were doing the right thing. She gave us the freedom to make the decision that seemed right for us without putting any pressure on us and giving us the time we needed. I feel very grateful that the end of our dog's long life was as peaceful and right as his whole life. This place is really great. You can tell the staff really care about you and your pet. I have been to a few other clinics in town and will say that Arbor is way better than the other places. They were able to squeeze in a last minute appointment for us when our cat became very ill. The vet tech and veterinarian took the time to discuss what was going on with our pet, told us upfront how much different tests would cost, were thorough in her evaluation and also explanation of what was going on with her. Everyone in this office is always, without fail, awesome. I've been taking my pets here for about 20 years and have never had one bad thing to say about the staff. The entire staff are welcoming and knowledgeable and are definitely animal lovers. My primary veterinarian is Dr. Davies; She explains everything pertaining to my pet's care, and procedures involved, along with options and rationale. I never feel rushed or uninformed. Dr Davies goes that proverbial extra mile; her clinical knowledge and her kindness are extraordinary and very much appreciated. Dr. Kautz and the staff at Arbor Animal Clinic are amazing. Dr. Kautz gave my dachshund a new life, and possibly saved his life (or at least his back). I was convinced Marley's fairly sudden and unrelenting weight gain had a medical reason behind it. It wasn't really safe to take him for his beloved walks anymore as the weight gain led to back problems. He was miserable. We went to 5 vets at various other offices around town before Dr. Kautz. Every single one discredited my notion that there was something medically wrong with him and prescribed prescription weight loss doggy food instead. A basic thyroid test at the first vet, which was confirmed by the others, "proved" there was nothing wrong with his thyroid. A million thanks to Dr. Kautz, who performed a Free T4 test (not literally free, that's the name of it) and confirmed Marley's thyroid problem. I unfortunately trusted the medical professionals before him, but I also trusted my gut. Thanks to Dr. Kautz and Arbor Animal Clinic, Marley has a new lease on life and is loving every minute of it, at the head of the pack during doggy walks again! Dachshunds have notorious bad teeth. My other pooch, Floyd, was no exception and I had neglected his dental cleanings. Dr. Kautz did what I'm convinced few other dentists would've been able to do. Once he got in there complications arose due the extent of Floyd's tooth decay, but his expertise and experience shined again in the way he handled those complications and brought Floyd through it perfectly. They've been excellent on every visit, the knowledge, experience and genuine concern evident every step of the way. We moved out of the state, and I miss our vet more than any other business in Austin (yes, even more than Rudy's). We miss it the most because it's the one we'll truly never be able to replace.Read Less

The staff at Arbor Animal Clinic is amazing! The receptionist are always very helpful and extremely knowledgable! I've been here on two separate occasions with some pretty stressful issues with both of dogs. Dr. Kautz is not only awesome with my dogs but he also has excellent people-skills. I brought my fearful dog in, who had a history of being difficult at the vets office. Dr. Kautz was so patient and understanding. I just discovered Arbor Animal Clinic last month, and what a fortunate discovery for me! I have made 2 visits to the Clinic, and have been highly impressed both times. The receptionists who greet you are friendly, attentive, well-organized and professional. On both Saturdays, Jason the Vet Technician was there with the Veterinarians to help. I was very impressed with the way Jason took care of my pets, and the way he communicated with me about them. He was mature, professional, caring and knowledgeable. Jason made me feel quite comfortable about bringing my pets to this Clinic. On the first occasion, I brought in my cat Tutankhamun, who had mysteriously stopped eating. I was so fortunate to see cat-lover Dr. Laurie Dulaney that Saturday, who impressed me by asking ALL the right questions about Tutankhamun. She did tests on Tutankhaman, treated him, and re-hydrated him. Shortly thereafter, Tutankhamun was back to eating again, and has been doing just great ever since! I was highly impressed by Dr. Dulaney’s care, concern and obvious knowledge about cats. Dr. Dulaney is extraordinary. The Clinic also followed-up by calling me at home to ask how Tutankhamun was doing. On the second occasion, I brought in my new puppy Sophie for her puppy shots and tests, and was fortunate to see Dr. Rebecca Davies. Dr. Davies did an excellent job caring for Sophie, and I was also very impressed with her kind and professional manner. Jason and Dr. Davies discovered a hernia on little Sophie, which I never would have known about otherwise. I have been to a number of vet clinics in Austin, and Arbor Animal Clinic certainly stands out for me. I can say whole-heartedly that this is an extraordinarily good place to take your pets, where you will be assured of caring, excellent vet care at a reasonable cost. I have been bringing my pets here for years (2 dogs, 3 cats). Once they were all gone I waited two years to get another dog, and I began taking her as well. For one of her rounds of vaccinations (she was between 7 months and 1 year--I don't remember exactly) she got her shots and everything went fine as usual. Then they wanted a fecal sample and she for whatever reason didnt want them playing with her rear end so she resisted. The tech got another tech and they tried to hold her down. Long story short they tried to muzzle her, took her in back to try to muzzle her, since she started snapping at them but never bit anyone. Instead of just leaving her alone they overdid it. I should have known better but none of my dogs ever had problems at the vet so I figured they knew what was best since it is their job--they DID NOT. On her latest visit for her yearly exam--she is 16 months--she was fine in the office. They put us in the same room as before and she started acting different and I didn't pick up on it right away. They took her to the back to get blood and fecal samples. Dulaney came back and explained that she was snapping at people and they tried to muzzle her. Then she started talking about anxiety medicine. I asked why and she said because she would have to take some and come back so she was more calm. Long story short again I explained what happened on our last visit and told Dulaney the way she is acting is a direct result of her experience last time and it was her staff that traumatized her. She is an overly friendly dog so this is completely out of character for her. I asked the vet to see if she could try the examination so she crouched down, my dog wagged her tail and walked up to her and nudged her hand to get a pet, and Dulaney just sat there--didn't pet her or say anything to her to calm her or let my dog know she was friendly. My dog walked back to her corner. I was furious. My dog makes an effort and this vet makes no effort to comfort her or make her feel welcome. What a joke! On leaving all the vets and techs hid in the back while the poor front desk girl talked with me. She wanted to sell me a bottle of anxiety pills--which Dulaney had already explained may or may not work. I asked if I was getting a discount on them since this office caused the problem--of course not. Also I asked why I would neet to buy a whole bottle if all she needs is a few for ONE yearly visit. In the end I decided to go elsewhere without the drugs. I never got an apology, they took no responsibility for what happened, and didn't even offer to look into the matter or research what had happened in the past. I am so disappointed in this office and especially Dulaney who I now remember from my other pets. She is a MORON. If you feel the need to use this office, do not use her. She is the worst vet. I took my pets here for about 10 years and they have gotten worse and worse. I agree with the other comment that they are only in it for the money. Both my cat and my Great Dane see Dr. Faught and as long as I live in Austin he will be the only vet they see. Sadly my dog has food allergies. When we discovered the issue Dr. Faught helped me get to the bottom of the problem and find her a diet that does not upset her stomach. Additionally he was understanding about my limited budget and did what he could to keep the costs down. I appreciate that he is straight forward and honest with out delivering negative information in a harsh manner. His bed side manner leaves nothing to be desired. Finally, every one else I come in to contact with at arbor treats my animals with the care and consideration that I do. We moved here 3 years ago and left a wonderful vet behind, very nervous to find a trustworthy vet but were very pleased when we found Arbor Animal Clinic. Our dog Max has very bad allergies and tends to chew himself till he has sores, and it becomes very painful for him. Everyone was very educated and gave great advice and were able to care for his needs. They suggested a different food as well as over the counter meds, nothing that was going to break the bank!! We recently just got a puppy and brought Olive in for her first visit and they explained everything that was important for her growth and health. They also sent us home with a care package for her and a ton of information on what to expect. Every vet there is amazing, we see first available and never worry. The staff is great and the place is very clean! My favorite part is that the dogs love going there and everybody knows them when returning! Great place! Read Less

All this vet hospital (I will not name the vet who took care of my pet because I think all the vets there have the same focus: money!) was concerned about was how much money they could get out of me. Did all the tests, didnt diagnose anything, but treated my cat with as many expensive procedures as possible based on some assumptions, NOT diagnosis. She talked round and round and every conversation ended with doing more tests, that's all. In addition, their entire focus - doctor, staff and office staff was on what they could get out of me and how much they could run up my bill. In the end, after subjecting my cat to torture and unnecessary procedures, they started telling me that if I was not cooperating with their continued treatment for my cat (so they could continue to run up my bill without proper diagnosis!!), their suggestion was to euthanize him - so they could make more money!! I took in a sick cat, brought home a much sicker cat and nursed him back to health myself. He only had a minor ailment that they made worse because they wanted money - I am lucky to have gotten away with a $700 bill and my cat alive. Take your pet here at your own risk. All they see is $$$! And BTW, friendliness is no substitute for proper diagnosis and correct treatment for ailments. All those smiles dont make it up for making my cat much worse than he actually was, for subjecting him to unnecessary procedures all for the sake of money! I checked with another vet right after taking my cat back home and a course of antibiotic was all he really needed in the first place and Arbor animal clinic cost me $700! Read Less

While visiting the Williamson County Humane Society one day, I came across the saddest little dog I had ever seen. The dogs she was sharing a kennel with would not let her eat, and she was extremely malnourished. I immediately adopted her with the hopes of saving her. On her first visit we found out that not only was she about 20 lbs underweight, but she had a horrible upper repiratory infection, some worms, and some sort of stomach virus. I had never been to this vet before but Dr. Hunt and I became well acquainted after numerous visits over a couple of weeks. We really weren't sure if my dog ""Bailey"" was going to make it, but now a couple months later she is healthy, active, and loving. You will not find a more adept, clean and friendly Veterinarian clinic anywhere in Austin. My animals have been patients for over ten years and even though I have moved to Kyle, I still go out of my way to take my pets there. A few of the very sweet technicians even remember my name and my pets name when I walk in the door. In a city this size, it's nice to be treated like a real person rather than just another paying customer. When my cat developed urinary tract disease and was in their care for a month, they called me frequently to tell me how he was doing and encouraged me to come and visit him anytime I wanted to while a lot of other places would either refuse or discourage it. There is another Dr at this clinic. Ruth Ann Lobos. She is absolutely wonderful. I could not have asked for a better Dr to take care of my dog's surgery. If I had kids I would probably try to take them to her. All of the vets here are extremely compassionate, well mannered, and understanding. They care more about animal welfare than they do their own. They took the absolute best care of my dog down to the last detail. I also rec'd calls at home just to check on him. Everytime I had a question, the Dr herself came on the line to speak to me.
