We moved to downtown Austin with our 2 French Bulldogs a few weeks ago. We loved the vet we had in Lakeway where we lived before. Austin Urban Vet Center surpassed all my expectations. My dogs felt very loved and extremely comfortable. They didn't rush us and answered all my questions. I am extremely happy to be a part of their group! So are Moses and Zip!

Little things have been important to me like writing each dog's name that has an appointment on that day on a big chalk board behind the desk to not charging or offering services that aren't needed. You know how you don't want to give your favorite places away because then you won't be able to get any appointment times? That's how I feel about this vet center. But I know that you care about your animal and want to find a good place. Dr. Helen is top notch in terms of medical knowledge and personality. She explains things with compassion and patience. I also heard that she gives acupuncture to animals that are under because it helps them wake up easier. I love this. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I've been looking for a sensible holistic vet to help me with my cat. I've been to a couple other vets in Austin, one who quit seeing us because they wanted me to spend $550 on a cancer test, even though I told them I wouldn't treat my 15-yo cat for cancer and wanted to explore other options. The other vet literally did not want to ask any questions and spent maybe 3 minutes (not exaggerating) with us, exercising the standard of care, annoyed by my questions. Dr Lauren was such a breath of fresh air! She listened, and wanted to understand where I stood with Koby's "hospice" situation since that would affect the treatment choices she presented. She supported my decision to not explore aggressive surgeries and chemo, and offered me a path that would allow me to try a couple of treatment options that might work while keeping Koby comfortable and not costing me an arm and a leg to keep treating him so I can keep him around as long as possible. I was so blessed by her thoughtful care, and her support of me as I figure out how to navigate this really hard transition.

I called Austin Urban Vet Center with some urgent help for my pug with allergies. They were able to have him come in immediately to take a look, as we live just a few blocks away. When Dr.Helen came in she sat on the floor and loved on my pug, something that you don't see very often. Her presence at his level was very calming for him, and he definitely felt safer because of it. Every question I had was answered with honesty and kindness. We were very well taken care of and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVE Austin Urban Vet! I'm very particular about my vets because my dogs are so sensitive and one of them is awful with new people. I have had nothing but excellent service from Austin Urban Vet! The front desk is amazing and always helpful and SO nice. Dr. Laurie takes great care of my babies and is patient with their hyperactive and nervous behavior! As for the comment about waiting and price, I've been going here for over 3 years and have never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. Good vet care isn't cheap. I find Austin Urban Vet to be the same cost as any other quality vet clinic. I also buy prescription dog food from them and it's cheaper than buying it on 1-800- pet meds or chewy.com.

Every person you talk to, from front desk to vet and vet techs, is so friendly and helpful. I recommend Austin Urban Vet to all of my dog friends and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Convenient, readily available, and caring. Everyone at Austin Urban Vet center was an excellent provider to my geriatric large dog. They treated her as if she was their own pet, we were able to conveniently schedule appointments, and Dr. Helen always offered several progressive options for treatment. I believe that they helped to increase my dog's lifespan. When it was time for her to be euthanized, we could not have received better care. Dr. Helen, Dr. Erin, and the AUVC staff were compassionate and personal, and helped us through the experience. I highly recommend this vet!

My pup just had his first vet check up with Austin Urban Vet after going to Banfield for 2 years. I was delighted by how professional and personal the staff is. It's the same quality of care you get from a good primary physician. The private exam rooms don't feel super medical/sterile -- They're welcoming, clean, and really do feel like you're at a human doctor's office! I'm glad I made the switch to Austin Urban Vet and I've only heard great things from other people who bring their pets here.

Ever since Day 1, I have experienced the exact opposite of what everyone is saying. We have been there about 5 times since we have a new puppy and each time we've had to wait at least 20 minutes past our appointment time before being seen. They are expensive and will try to upsell you on everything. Dr. Laurie called me right before my frenchie was to be spade and asked if she wanted me to work on her nasal cavity while she was under...I understand having an adult frenchie as well that sometimes that surgery is necessary but you don't just throw it in during a surgery to be neutered and when the dog does not need it. Then my other frenchie Otis went in for a routine dental cleaning and tooth extraction for one tooth then without calling and checking this time, TOOK OUT 5 OTHER TEETH AND WAS GOING TO CHARGE. Luckily, the doctor agreed that she should've called us before and didn't make us pay for all the teeth. Long story short, be ready to wait, be ready to pay a lot of unnecessary money. They care about themselves first, your animal second, and you last. We will not be going back.

Been taking our fur kids here since they opened their doors. Dr Erin and her staff are amazing. The boarding and day care facility are the best- no crates or kennels- they have little hotel rooms where you can log in and check on them! They have taken care of our entire pack, helped some pass, grieved with us and welcomed new babies in. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. They get it.

Now I go there for the location, friendly staff, and my dog Lucy never freaks out when we get there, which she did at every other vets office I'd previously taken her to.

This is the best vet I've ever had and I've had animals my whole life. Dr. Erin Homburg is thoughtful, thorough and spends the time it takes to take care of issues and arm you with the information you need to keep your animals healthy and happy. She'll call you back, answer emails and addresses any and all concerns when it comes to the health of your animal. Plus she's fun! The staff is great too! They're all friendly, smart and thoughtful. I wish I could give them more stars. Hands down the best!!!

First and last bad experience here. Generally always available and easy to schedule. Never seen the same doctor once. Brought my pug in for annuals. They got me in and out, $500 later. I generally didn't have an issue overpaying for the convenience, but I thought after 5 years of using this establishment I would have had the benefit of some compassion. My dog developed an abscess on her belly. Not certain if Austin UV caused it with the barage of medications, overlooked it, or if developed after her appointmwnt. Issue is, I called them during normal business hours, asked to be seen same day, and was denied. The receptionist put me on hold to "see what she could do." She got back on the phone and confirmed she could do nothing. I asked her which doctor deinied my request, and she later stated she didn't ask a doctor. Ironically, the urgent hospital was less costly than a normal appointnent anyway. Thanks for the lesson. No thanks for the compassion. Great place to be a nimbrr. Never returning.

I was told by the management "never to set foot" in the Vet Center again today, because I questioned a disingenuous policy of the business. The policy of Austin Urban Vet Center is to deny medication requests from online companies that offer the same product at much more competitive pricing. My medication request was initially denied (for the second time) because according to them, 1800PetMeds is not from a "trusted source" and has a "placebo effect" meaning it's non-effective. 1800PetMeds has FDA/EPA approval, and it has certification through the National Board of Pharmacy. But according to the management, that isn't good enough. I personally, have never had a problem with any medications from 1800PETMEDS.I explained to them that they are violating federal consumer protection laws and indirectly slandering another business. A consumer has the right to choose who they do business with, but it apparently doesn't matter to them. Under duress, they eventually agreed to filling the medication request, but Austin Urban Vet could offer no plausible explanation or evidence supporting their accusations. It's quite apparent why they take this position, and it's for the almighty dollar. Fellow consumers, I recommend that you do not do business with Austin Urban Vet Center, it doesn't appear to be trustworthy. If you question their policies, you may be banned as well and it will be a waste of your time.On a separate note - The level of care is satisfactory, but overpriced.

We moved to downtown Austin with our 2 French Bulldogs a few weeks ago. We loved the vet we had in Lakeway where we lived before. Austin Urban Vet Center surpassed all my expectations. You know how you don't want to give your favorite places away because then you won't be able to get any appointment times? That's how I feel about this vet center. But I know that you care about your animal and want to find a good place. Dr. Helen is top notch in terms of medical knowledge and personality. She explains things with compassion and patience. I also heard that she gives acupuncture to animals that are under because it helps them wake up easier. I love this. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I've been looking for a sensible holistic vet to help me with my cat. I've been to a couple other vets in Austin, one who quit seeing us because they wanted me to spend $550 on a cancer test, even though I told them I wouldn't treat my 15-yo cat for cancer and wanted to explore other options. The other vet literally did not want to ask any questions and spent maybe 3 minutes (not exaggerating) with us, exercising the standard of care, annoyed by my questions. Dr Lauren was such a breath of fresh air! She listened, and wanted to understand where I stood with Koby's "hospice" situation since that would affect the treatment choices she presented. She supported my decision to not explore aggressive surgeries and chemo, and offered me a path that would allow me to try a couple of treatment options that might work while keeping Koby comfortable and not costing me an arm and a leg to keep treating him so I can keep him around as long as possible. I was so blessed by her thoughtful care, and her support of me as I figure out how to navigate this really hard transition.

I called Austin Urban Vet Center with some urgent help for my pug with allergies. They were able to have him come in immediately to take a look, as we live just a few blocks away. When Dr.Helen came in she sat on the floor and loved on my pug, something that you don't see very often. Her presence at his level was very calming for him, and he definitely felt safer because of it. Every question I had was answered with honesty and kindness. We were very well taken care of and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Highly recommend!

I absolutely LOVE Austin Urban Vet! I'm very particular about my vets because my dogs are so sensitive and one of them is awful with new people. I have had nothing but excellent service from Austin Urban Vet! The front desk is amazing and always helpful and SO nice. Dr. Laurie takes great care of my babies and is patient with their hyperactive and nervous behavior! As for the comment about waiting and price, I've been going here for over 3 years and have never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. Good vet care isn't cheap. I find Austin Urban Vet to be the same cost as any other quality vet clinic. I also buy prescription dog food from them and it's cheaper than buying it on 1-800- pet meds or chewy.com.

I can't say enough good things about Austin Urban Vet Center. I've been taking my pup there since he was about 8 weeks old and he turns 6 on Friday. Every person you talk to, from front desk to vet and vet techs, is so friendly and helpful. I recommend Austin Urban Vet to all of my dog friends and wouldn't go anywhere else!

Convenient, readily available, and caring. Everyone at Austin Urban Vet center was an excellent provider to my geriatric large dog. They treated her as if she was their own pet, we were able to conveniently schedule appointments, and Dr. Helen always offered several progressive options for treatment. I believe that they helped to increase my dog's lifespan. When it was time for her to be euthanized, we could not have received better care. Dr. Helen, Dr. Erin, and the AUVC staff were compassionate and personal, and helped us through the experience. I highly recommend this vet!

My pup just had his first vet check up with Austin Urban Vet after going to Banfield for 2 years. I was delighted by how professional and personal the staff is. It's the same quality of care you get from a good primary physician. The private exam rooms don't feel super medical/sterile -- They're welcoming, clean, and really do feel like you're at a human doctor's office! I'm glad I made the switch to Austin Urban Vet and I've only heard great things from other people who bring their pets here.

Ever since Day 1, I have experienced the exact opposite of what everyone is saying. We have been there about 5 times since we have a new puppy and each time we've had to wait at least 20 minutes past our appointment time before being seen. They are expensive and will try to upsell you on everything. Dr. Laurie called me right before my frenchie was to be spade and asked if she wanted me to work on her nasal cavity while she was under...I understand having an adult frenchie as well that sometimes that surgery is necessary but you don't just throw it in during a surgery to be neutered and when the dog does not need it. Then my other frenchie Otis went in for a routine dental cleaning and tooth extraction for one tooth then without calling and checking this time, TOOK OUT 5 OTHER TEETH AND WAS GOING TO CHARGE. Luckily, the doctor agreed that she should've called us before and didn't make us pay for all the teeth. Long story short, be ready to wait, be ready to pay a lot of unnecessary money. They care about themselves first, your animal second, and you last. We will not be going back.

This is the best Vet center I've ever been to. The most caring, friendly staff I've ever met. My dog just had a pretty intense surgery and they did everything they could to not only ensure the safety and comfort of my dog, but also to keep me updated every step of the way. The boarding and day care facility are the best- no crates or kennels- they have little hotel rooms where you can log in and check on them! They have taken care of our entire pack, helped some pass, grieved with us and welcomed new babies in. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. They get it.

This is the best vet I've ever had and I've had animals my whole life. Dr. Erin Homburg is thoughtful, thorough and spends the time it takes to take care of issues and arm you with the information you need to keep your animals healthy and happy. She'll call you back, answer emails and addresses any and all concerns when it comes to the health of your animal. Plus she's fun! The staff is great too! They're all friendly, smart and thoughtful. I wish I could give them more stars. Hands down the best!!!

First and last bad experience here. Generally always available and easy to schedule. Never seen the same doctor once. Brought my pug in for annuals. They got me in and out, $500 later. I generally didn't have an issue overpaying for the convenience, but I thought after 5 years of using this establishment I would have had the benefit of some compassion. My dog developed an abscess on her belly. Not certain if Austin UV caused it with the barage of medications, overlooked it, or if developed after her appointmwnt. Issue is, I called them during normal business hours, asked to be seen same day, and was denied. The receptionist put me on hold to "see what she could do." She got back on the phone and confirmed she could do nothing. I asked her which doctor deinied my request, and she later stated she didn't ask a doctor. Ironically, the urgent hospital was less costly than a normal appointnent anyway. Thanks for the lesson. No thanks for the compassion. Great place to be a nimbrr. Never returning.

I was told by the management "never to set foot" in the Vet Center again today, because I questioned a disingenuous policy of the business. The policy of Austin Urban Vet Center is to deny medication requests from online companies that offer the same product at much more competitive pricing. My medication request was initially denied (for the second time) because according to them, 1800PetMeds is not from a "trusted source" and has a "placebo effect" meaning it's non-effective. 1800PetMeds has FDA/EPA approval, and it has certification through the National Board of Pharmacy. But according to the management, that isn't good enough. I personally, have never had a problem with any medications from 1800PETMEDS.I explained to them that they are violating federal consumer protection laws and indirectly slandering another business. A consumer has the right to choose who they do business with, but it apparently doesn't matter to them. Under duress, they eventually agreed to filling the medication request, but Austin Urban Vet could offer no plausible explanation or evidence supporting their accusations. It's quite apparent why they take this position, and it's for the almighty dollar. Fellow consumers, I recommend that you do not do business with Austin Urban Vet Center, it doesn't appear to be trustworthy. If you question their policies, you may be banned as well and it will be a waste of your time.On a separate note - The level of care is satisfactory, but overpriced.
