Our furry family loves Barton Creek Animal Clinic! We have 2 dogs and 1 pup has a chronic condition that requires many, many (did I say "many"?) vet visits throughout the year. In addition to her medical needs, our one dog has an extremely nervous nature. Everyone at Barton Creek always treats her sweetly and patiently even with all her quirks! It's easy to schedule visits with the clinic, the front office staff are friendly and helpful (and return phone calls quickly!) while Dr. Unflat and his team are always eager to explain what's their plan and what's going to happen next. This place is fantastic. I've been through multiple vets in multiple states and this one is the best. It is so hard to find a vet that you trust, not only to take care of your pets, but also not to overcharge you for unnecessary things. Dr Unflat and his staff (love Zach!) are always so wonderful and kind to my animals. Great prices too! Dr Unflat is always cognizant of the cost of treatment. I've been to other vet clinics before that don't talk about costs till it is time for the bill. I was in there quite a bit over the past two years with my 18 year old shepherd mix that passed recently. I never had a problem getting in and they were always so gentle and thorough with her. Dr. Van Winkle is the best!  When our baby was diagnosed with IVDD and had back surgery ~3 years ago, the surgeon told us that she will recover 80% at best.  We started bringing her to see Dr. van Winkle for monthly acupuncture after the surgery and rehab to help with her recovery.  With the monthly maintenance treatments, she's gained back 100% of her mobility and has only had a couple of minor episodes since then.Our baby is now seeing Dr. Unflat for another issue.  He has also been wonderful.  All the vets, vet techs, and receptionists we have met at Barton Creek really care about the animals.  We have full confidence that our dog is getting the best treatment here. Caring, thorough treatment from an experienced veterinarian and staff.I'd been going to another West Lake vet clinic for years but felt a change was needed for various reasons. I thought I'd try out BCAC. So very glad I did. Dr Unflat and the crew there are who I want in my kitty's corner. They have now seen us through an emergency and I'm so glad they were there for us. Dr Unflat has what appears to me to be an encyclopedic knowledge of medicines and specialties to see around corners and help me make complex decisions about my cat's health; he's quick to call in a specialist when needed (he seems to know them all which is a huge plus!) but won't hold back in giving me the benefit of his experience as well. He and his team have a calm manner which I appreciate. Zach, the Medical Vet Tech (I'm sure that's wrong - sorry Zach!) is fantastic with both my guys, and has the most calming manner. You can tell he loves working with animals, plus he always lies to me and tells me they've been sweet kitties (all cats are jerks at the vet - at least mine are!). This is the only vet I would consider taking my animals for care. I love the familiar vibe and they remember your pet and you. I like how it's peaceful and calm and love that it doesn't feel like a fast-paced, high volume vet. I used to go to another neighborhood vet, but every time my animals would be stressed from the hustle and bustle of the office and I always felt a tad rushed. Dr Unflat is great and he explains what you need to know and never suggests anything unnecessary. I like his bed side manner with my animals. I went to Dr. Van Winkle for several years for acupuncture and chiropractic for my dogs before switching to her for all my veterinary needs. I am so happy I made the switch. Dr. VW, Dr. Unflat, Dr. Hughes and all of the staff are wonderful. And like another reviewer posted, prices are very reasonable. 5 stars in my book! Absolutely impressed with these vets, every time I come in, for emergencies and non-emergency stuff. My first experience with Dr. Van Winkle was when I brought my young dachshund mix in for a persistent limp. I'd spoken to other vets and specialists about his issues and it usually ended up with a prescription for painkillers, but the acupuncture she performed on him had a profound affect-he's limp-free most days now, no drugs!I absolutely trust these guys with my precious little guy's health! Dr. Van Winkle is magic, and so is her staff at the Barton Creek Animal Clinic. Our cat responded immediately to their tender care. They were kind to see her without an appointment. I was very worried about her yesterday, but now, 24 hours after treatment and medication, she is up and about, and eating breakfast. Dr. Van Winkle is the best vet that I have been to so far and I have worked for plenty of them. She is very thorough and takes the time to get to know you and your pet. She found something in my four year old dogs eye that I later found out from the specialist she had had since birth that no other vet took the time to look at. She has no problem answering any questions that you may have and listens to all of your concerns! Definately recommend! Read Less
