My family has been coming here for our pets since we moved to Austin 17 years ago. We started out with just small animals, but the quality of care was obvious even then. Dr. Biehle even offered to do surgery on my sister's hamster rather than just writing it off as "just a hamster" (we ended up not going through with that but the offer was kind!) We've never considered using another vet because the quality of care and compassion all of the vets, techs, and receptionists have shown us over the years has been tremendous. I've continued to use them as an adult for my own pets. I will say, their vaccine prices and exam fee are too much for me to use them for that in my current financial state (I go to emancipet) but nothing that's over what you'd see at any other full service clinic. So, while I do my "maintenance" care at emancipet (Which I highly recommend as well, they're wonderful if you don't mind a loooong wait time), I would never take my dogs anywhere else for other problems that pop up.My shar pei mix Harley has had a particularly rough time over the years. She has frequent ear infections (yay shar pei ears!) and her skin is very thin and punctures easily. We're usually in several times a year for these issues. We saw Dr. Schmalz a lot at first and have been seeing more of Dr. Moore lately as well. Both ladies are amazing vets and I've never felt like I've been taken advantage of or overcharged. In fact, they've been very helpful in trying to keep my bills as low as possible (helpful while I was in school). Dr. Moore in particular has been wonderful with Harley (who loves her despite all the ear-prodding). We've also seen Dr. Baker a number of times and she's extremely knowledgeable as well.I worked in several vets offices during college and have seen some pretty unsavory business practices in that time, especially at a corporate vet that will remain nameless. But I've never felt nickel and dimed at Brykerwood. I'm surprised to see any negative reviews on Yelp, honestly we've been coming here nearly two decades and it's been wonderful every time. Sorry for the long rambling review, I just really love this place! Please give them a shot, support your local businesses. Read Less
