Four Paws At Four Points

Austin, Texas
General Info
Four Paws At Four Points delivers veterinary services to Austin and nearby Texas communities while maintaining that pets forget medical procedures but retain memories of whether they experienced rushed treatment or attentive care. The initial stages of the clinic's architectural development originate there. The design of the entrance experience deliberately reduces speed through structural elements. Pets have the option to remain in vehicles if desired while they can also access premises through special side entrances designed for sensory-sensitive animals. Low-stimulus environments inside spaces enable animals to become familiar with scents while observing their surroundings. The examination procedure initiates solely after the creature reestablishes fundamental spatial awareness. Pet owners recount their animals' morning routines alongside visitor reactions and discomfort signals which all influence daily visit plans. Four Paws At Four Points provides diagnostic services while assessing hydration levels and monitoring injuries alongside surgical consultations and cardiopulmonary evaluations to map immune health. Medical treatment schedules exhibit flexibility because procedures can halt after diagnostic steps and then restart later in the day or spread across several days when imprint risks reach elevated levels. Environmental associations remain intact for specific species including cats, senior dogs, and exotic animals who demonstrate prolonged memory retention. Post-treatment guidance directs efforts toward reintegrating individuals into their homes. Which space serves as a resting area and how to utilize lighting and fragrance to signal tranquility while adjusting routines when appetite or mobility experience temporary disruption. Medical follow-ups involve tailored approaches through emotional recalibration rather than mere symptom regression. Families from Austin and nearby Texas areas experience Four Paws At Four Points' care which pets carry as a persistent memory and habitual rhythm into their future visits.

I love this place. Unfortunately both of my moms sweet beautiful dogs are gone. Prior to them passing, she brought them here. The technicians were always so sweet. My mom.and her dogs loved it there and never had issues. Always treated so well. My mom put her dog down there when she was sick and we have never had such a great experience. No words describe how hard this was on my mom.  They were so great to her and her dog Marty. They offered comfort and were so respectful of our emotions and Marty's experience. Her passing was very peaceful and all thanks to the staff. We called to let them know we were coming. They had blankets and tissues ready for us. They made Marty comfortable before the procedure and they had us near the door so we could leave without everyone seeing us upset. After the procedure they even sent my mom a foot print of Marty's. It's been very hard for her but this clinic made it easier. Thank you so much for keeping Marty and Trinity healthy while my mom brought them to you and thank you for taking care of her when it was time to say goodbye. We can't thank you enough. Read Less

I can not write enough wonderful words about 4 Paws. Our dear "Twiggy" (dachshund) had to go to dog heaven, and I, my daughter and ex-wife have never had such a great experience with any veterinarian, EVER. Their treatment of her passing was so heart felt. We had 3 paw engraved in plaster, and one was sent to my daughter and my ex-wfie. Both had a pink ribbon. Mine had a blue ribbon. Small details like this I love. We came to 4 Paws because of a concern over a diagnosis, over several months, from another veterinarian, in the area, who thought Twiggy had a bacteria infection. Dr. James immediately noticed a large (golf ball) growth that the previous vet had missed after numerous visits. Obviously the news was not good, but it was shocking that Dr. James so easily found the tumor, whereas the previous clinic used found nothing. I can not give enough stars and highly recommend anyone to use 4 Paws. In time, we will have another dog and 4 Paws will always be our clinic. Thank you 4 Paws for your expertise, but mostly your heart and soul€.. Read Less

Dr. Kleypas has been the vet for one of our dogs for 12 years, and saw our Pomeranian though bladder stone removal and maintenance.  Our dog is now almost 17 years old.  Dr. Okonsky began seeing our second dog for his end of life care after his cancer diagnosis in February.  There are not more competent veterinarians in Austin.   Both vets are fully accessible.  In the last four months, we've called to talk through issues with our dog, and receive a callback always to talk about concerns.  When we had to put our dog down this past week, Dr. Kleypas was incredibly compassionate.   She talked us through the entire process, and spent the time with us that we needed.  When it comes to quality of care and integrity, Four Paws is amazing. We have been patients at Four Points for over 5 years. Tonight I called at 5:15 (45 minutes before they close) because our dog had an open gash on her tail. Since it was less than an hour from closing time they were unwilling to see us and they only option they could give was to find an appointment tomorrow (not even a nudge in the direction of an after hours clinic). I ended up taking our dog to the vet at the front of Riverplace who saw her immediately (even though she is not a patient). Needless to say we are now patients at 2222 Vet and will not be returning to 4 Paws. Read Less

We have been taking our lover dog to Four Paws @ Four points for almost 3 years.   What really surprises me is the fact that when I walk in,  everyone knows who my dog is and greets him by name "Hi Elvis".   Over the years,  we have boarded Elvis at maybe 3 different places and each time when we return,  he has separation anxiety.   With Four Paws,  it is noticeably less.  We pay a bit extra for walks and belly rubs but the over all attention he receives is why he isn't so lonely.   Quality care:We have had Elvis in for sedated teeth cleaning,  lump removal and other out of the normal check ups and have had all of the work done on premise.  As he has gotten older,  we get more thorough blood work done.   All of which we were happy with and felt were fairly priced.   If you are looking for more than just a Vet for shots and take the health care of your furry family member seriously, I highly recommend Four Paw @ Four Points. Great vet's office. It has always been clean when I go in. The staff is friendly, caring, and helpful. I usually have to take my son with me to appointments. They help me get in & out. They also have plenty to keep him occupied while we wait. The treatment they give my cats is superb. The oldest is 18 and has come across some health issues in her old age (surprise). Dr. James has been very helpful and caring about what is ok, what needs monitoring, and what could be an issue. She used to be very agitated by vet visits, but she has come to like everyone at 4 Paws. The middle cat turns 8 this year. He likes me, my son, and begrudgingly tolerates my husband. They treat him very well despite his aggressive attitude, and I give them all the kudos I can for that. Our third cat is 2, an absolute sweetheart, and they're very glad when it's him being brought in for a well-check instead of the others. ~ Their primary concern seems to be with the well-being of the animals, which is exactly what I look for in a vet's office. I highly recommend them.Read Less

When I called to make an appointment the receptionist was super friendly and even laughed at my dumb jokes. We've now been to 4 Paws multiple times, for everything from our cat throwing up everything, to our dog needing some anal gland assistance to boarding and getting shots updated. And every experience has been great. Everyone is so friendly and the whole place is so clean! I'm going to keep this brief as I've effectively moved my pup and business elsewhere. In an effort to be objective:The Good:1) Conveniently located up north.2) Competent staff every time I've visited.3) Always provided good service for basic check-ups and shots. The Bad:1) GROSSLY overpriced for anything beyond basic check-up and shots as those services are outsourced (ie, ultrasounds are $350+ when only less than $80 at any other clinic with the ultrasound machine in house). And, if anything goes wrong with the outsourced service, you're pretty much left to your own devices and SOL.2) Pets are taken away behind closed doors for anything other than basic check-up. There are vets in town who will let you be present with your pets with ultrasounds, cat-scans, and even let you watch them operate.3) Follow the standard operating procedure with regards to referring you to more expensive experts even when it may not be completely necessary and maybe even detrimental given the wait involved (maybe they get some kick back for the referral?). NOTE:  While I understand that as owners, we're not vets, and there is a ton of bad info out there. But, in this day and age, there are plenty of owners who have posted their experiences online, so please don't assume we're completely uninformed. Read Less

They had taken care of another cat for me in the mid 2000's. We took Moobaby there today. Once he relaxed, he got over his fear of the Vet visit. I'm sure that it stemmed from taking to another vet in the past. The staff handled him with VIP care that I'm sure we're going to have less anxieties the next time we go there. I feel much more comfortable at 4Paws. So much so, if I end up moving away from the area again, I'll likely drive the extra miles to get to this place. Thanks to the staff making him feel comfortable and thanks too to treating us as valued owners of this cat. Read Less

Recently moved to Austin and think I found an awesome new vet and boarding facility on my first try. Yea! Over the years my rescue has turned me into one of those "dog people" I use to make fun of. Always been a animal lover and had dogs, but E is my baby. Having spewed my guts, I am VERY particular about who handles my dog. I had to take a trip a few weeks ago, so he was boarded for 4 days and had a few vaccines and an annual exam done during his stay. He's pretty use to being boarded occasionally but still comes home a little mopy headed for a day or two. Not this time. Came home just as he (and we) had never been gone! Also, the vet's report was SUPER thorough and  it appears everything went well. Very clean facility and you can tell the staff really LOVE animals. They took great care of my boy and that will now be his home away from home when I'm forced to leave him behind. Thanks Four Paws!!!

Read Less

We were about to go out of town for a holiday, and our pet became very sick and our vet was full on a Saturday, so I chose Four Paws because I personally know Dr. Kleypass. It's a hike from our house, but so worth it. Dr. Okonsky and the vet technicians got us in immediately and took care of him with X-rays and lab work. The facility was clean, and staff friendly. Highly recommend Four Paws at Four Points. Read Less

We just moved from the Houston area and had a Vet there that we loved (Animal Hospital on HWY 6 in SugarLand). But when we moved here, I found this place super close to my home. Also they put these adorable bandanas on the dogs and even our cat so they look like a new animal when they walk out. I can see us coming back here for years to come :) Read Less

Read Less

When we first moved to Austin we lived in the apartment complex right behind this place.  Obviously, due to the extremely convenient location we took our dog and cat there for any issues/shots.  About four years have passed and I live in a lot farther away now; near the Arboretum.  I didn't even bother looking to switch vets.  I drive the 10 miles out to Four Paws because they have always treated our pets with care and understanding.  This is probably the best vet I have ever been to.  They are efficient, caring, and downright awesome.  You can't go wrong bringing your furry little ones to them.  Pros: Pretty Much EverythingCons: I Don't Live right Next Door Anymore :( Read Less
