I'll always be loyal to Dr. Spellman, because he was the only one who figured out what was wrong with me cat.
Her original vet was in Bastrop, and they said she had allergies, and kept trying different allergy meds, but nothing worked. She was always covered in scabs from scratching and over-grooming.
After enough money, I gave up on being able to provide her a quality of life, so I decided to have her put down. I didn't want to drive all the way to Bastrop, so I called the closest nearby vet (Dr. Spellman). He said "well I'm not an executioner. I'll do it, but I want a shot." That seemed fair, so I brought the cat in for one last attempt.
He looked at her and almost immediately said "this cat has lupus." Then did some other tests to verify.
We put the cat on lupus meds, and her problems cleared up almost immediately. She was a delightfully happy and affectionate (and scab-free) cat after that. Read Less
